Chapter 905: HIS INFATUATION TOWARD HER
"Lou, thank you," Iris said when they were already inside the Serafim’s bedroom. People were very busy, since they occupied Moon Dew pack and found the people from the Black Market was actually still alive.
The merchants were the one, who was more thrilled than anyone else. In this battle, the merchants were not as powerful as the other three parties, but they were quite useful. They were wicked and resourceful. They were also not bad in a fight.
"What with the sudden gratefulness?" Lou furrowed his brows. "If you want to tell me how grateful you are, you can give me a hug or a kiss, you know."
The smile on Iris’s face fell when she heard that and she hissed at him. "Forget it."
Lou chuckled to see her being upset. Cane probably would think thrice if not ten times to let him be alone with his mate if he heard that.
"Go, we don’t have much time." Lou nudged Iris’s shoulder to go to the bed and be done with this mission.
Iris knew, she then immediately approached Abby, who was still unconscious. She sat down on the edge of the bed and grabbed her hand, as she closed her eyes there was this light that emanated from their clasped hands.
Meanwhile, Lou watched what Iris was doing with eyes that filled with adoration. His infatuation toward her was answered. The reason why he was being very attached to her ever since they met for the first time, because he destined to be with her.
Lou was not sure how to feel about this. He didn’t like to be told what to do, he valued himself so much to the point he didn’t care about someone else’s life, but being with Iris gave him a purpose in his dull life and when he thought about it, his life right now was not that bad.
The merchant didn’t know that he could do so much for someone else like what he had done for her. If someone told him that he would be so helpless against a woman, whose height not even reach his neck, he would have laughed out loud, but not now.
He stared at Iris with dotting eyes.
And when she opened her eyes again, Lou felt like he could see the entire sky and ocean sparked in those beautiful blue eyes.
But then, there was one question; why Cedric didn’t feel the same?
He knew Zale did feel such devotion toward Iris, but he doubted the knight felt it. He remembered how he treated Iris in the beginning.
"Lou, can you help me?" Iris called for him.
She realized she could wake Abby up when she remembered almost the same thing happened in the past, but at that time, it was Iris, who was unconscious. She unintentionally seized the power from Abby, because she was more powerful than her, but Abby couldn’t do the same to Iris, unless the latter gave it to her and that was what she was doing right now.
"What is it?" Lou approached her with light step, as though he was bouncing, instead of walking.
"Can you give me a glass of water, please?"
"I will give you my heart and the world if you wanted them."
Iris rolled her eyes. "No, thanks. A glass of water will be enough."
Lou glanced at Abby, it seemed, he was too preoccupied staring at Iris, until he didn’t realize the Serafim had comeback to her sense. She was awake now and there was no surprise there, since Lou had never doubted Iris at all.
"How are you feeling?" Iris asked Abby. She looked at her groggily.
"Here." Lou gave Iris a glass of water and she helped Abby to drink, but there was something that caught his eyes, which made him left the two women alone to have their conversation.
"Abby, you need to answer my question, this is very important." Iris knew she just woke up, but this was very urgent. She didn’t have time to wait.
"Wh- what happened?"
Iris explained the situation briefly to her. "Now, tell me what actually had happened?"
Abby furrowed her brows, she propped herself up into sitting position and then recalled what happened. She only remembered Elder Rose did something to her. "My baby!" Abby gasped.
"The baby is fine, you don’t need to worry. Grace has checked on your condition too," Iris reassured her. She felt this tug in her heartstring when she saw the panic in Abby’s eyes when she was worried about her baby.
Was she like that too when she lost them?
"What about... Liam?" Abby dreaded the answer from Iris, but before she could tell her that no one had ever seen him since that day, they heard a distressful groan came from the entrance door.
"Lou?" Iris was on alert, she immediately stood up and was about to approach him when she saw Rei came from the direction Lou had disappeared earlier. Iris stopped in her track. How he could be here? "Where is Lou?" she asked with a growl.
"Finally, I can see you," Rei sighed in relief. "I know you will be here in the first chance you can get, while everyone is busy. I have been waiting for you. You don’t know how long I have been waiting for you..."
If the lycan had been waiting for Na for centuries, so did Rei. He was the only one, who actually believed without any doubt that Na would come again and now she was standing in front of him.
"Where is Lou?" Iris repeated her question, didn’t want to hear his nonsense. She tried to peek over his shoulder, but she couldn’t see the merchant, which made her upset. "What have you done to him?"
"You don’t know how long I have been waiting for you, Na..."
Rei suddenly pulled Iris against him and hugged her tightly, he buried his face against the crook of her neck, which made Iris screeched and tried to push him away. But, the difference of strength between them was very apparent.
"Don’t abandon me again, Na. I really missed you. I am really sorry for what I have done. I am truly sorry..." he kept saying the same thing over and over again, which made Iris assumed, he had gone insane.
"Let me go!" Iris struggled against him, while Abby tried to help, she got off the bed, but fell to the floor because she didn’t have enough strength to support herself yet.
"I really missed you, Na. Can’t you tell?" Rei squeezed her body and kissed her neck. "I am sorry, I am sorry for what I have done, but please, don’t abandon me, don’t leave me alone anymore."
Rei was being very emotional right now and Iris was worried about Lou and herself. She screamed for him to let her go, but it seemed, no one could hear her. A spell had been put inside this room by Lou, so the noise from inside couldn’t be heard outside. This method backfired at them.
Only if Rei was a shifter, Iris would gladly squeeze the life out of him, unfortunately he was not and she didn’t have her dagger with her or else, Rei would have been bleeding again right now, just like in the past.
Realizing she wouldn’t be able to outpower him, Iris stood still, her blue eyes turned a few shades darker, so did her voice when she spoke.
"Na has gone. She is no longer here. Stop for a while and you will be able to know." Iris gritted her teeth, she held back the feeling of disgust because someone else touched her. This was the same feeling like when alpha Gill touched her. It was a pure repulsion. "She has gone and you have never been in her mind, not even once."
Rei’s body froze, when he heard that. He was still for a moment before he let out a heartwrenching scream and pushed Iris away from him.
Abby immediately stood up and came forward, she caught Iris’s body before she fell and steadied both of them.
"There is no way..." Rei stared at Iris in horror, as if she had killed his whole family. "How could you do this...? I have been waiting for you. Do you know what I have done to be able to meet you again? Do you know how long I have been waiting to see you again? How could you do this to me? Do you hate me so much?"
Abby was mortified, she had never seen Rei like this before, neither it crossed her mind that someone like him could lose his composure.
Right at that time, Lou came with a small statue in his hand and smashed it against Rei’s head.
"Fuck you!" Lou cursed, as he smashed the statue again for the second time, but before he could succeed, Rei had disappeared from his sight, but a second later, he appeared behind Lou and kicked his head, caused the merchant to kiss the floor so hard, he split his lips.
Lou groaned, but he immediately turned around and lit up fire, the burst of flames burned Rei’s body. People would think he would die.
But through the burn of fire, Rei stretched out his hand and grabbed Lou’s neck. He squeezed it tightly and didn’t let go.
But not only that, Rei cursed Lou, because Iris and Abby could see how Lou’s veins popped out and it was the color of black, as if his body was going to decay...
