Chapter 715: BLACK RAIN AND DARK SKY (57)

Chapter 715: BLACK RAIN AND DARK SKY (57)

The bells rang loudly from all the four towers of the pack house and the tension thickened the atmosphere, as if the air filled with dread. The sound of the ringing bells from the four towers indicated they were under attack and their enemies were within their gates!

How could that possible?! How could the enemies already within their gates when they didn’t even realize it yet?

There was no first warning or the second one. This was the last warning that they were in a grave danger.

As if answering their question, the sound of people shouted from afar became very clear when the words were being repeated.

"Monster attack!"

"Monster attack!"

"MONSTER ATTACK!"

Followed with that, the ground where they were standing started shaking, something big came from beneath the ground and this caused the effect like an earthquake.

"Are you okay?!" Cedric grabbed Aliana’s hand and steadied herself, as they used the bench for their support, waiting for the ground to stop shaking violently. "We need to tell the other!"

Aliana agreed with that and once the ground stopped shaking and an uproar could be heard from the distance, as loud growls from the monsters filled the air, both Cedric and Aliana went to their respective order.

Aliana shifted into her beast and tried to look for the alpha and the luna, especially the luna, since she served her, but it would be great if she could gather Iris’s personal warriors on her way to find her.

She still didn’t know what the monster that had attacked them, but in the distance, she could see countless warriors and knights were heading toward the battle that was currently happening.

Aliana in her honey brown wolf traced her way to the spot, where the alpha told them to leave because he was about to have a serious discussion with Lou and Iris, but they were no longer there.

Actually, fifteen minutes before the bell was being rang, Iris had felt it. The dark magic suddenly appeared and it was very strong.

Lou and Cane were in the middle of a serious conversation, it was rare to see the two of them were having a calm discussion like this, while Iris munched on her satay that a maid brought for her earlier as per Cane’s request.

Basically, Cane told Lou the same thing like what he told Serafim, he didn’t disclose about the fact Iris had the first Serafim’s life essence and also the truth about the lycan, yet he told the merchant about something else.

About Iris’s dream of five swords and what Haco told them about the five swords in the Holy Kingdom that could purify the Serafim from negative effects of this realm, in which strengthen their power as the symbol of purity, kindness and benevolence.

Lou glanced at Iris, who was happily eating her snack, while listening to Cane. "Do you think the two of them related?" Lou raised his brows. "The Serafim and her. Maybe she is the real Serafim," he said bluntly about what he was thinking at this moment. "But, is it possible for two Serafim exist at the same time?"

That was the same question Iris and Cane had, but at the same time, they could also understand why it was possible to happen.

For Iris, who had Na’s life essence, she was literally the first Serafim, though she was lacking of how to be more in tune with her power, there were a lot of things that Iris had to discover about her power, but because of Haco’s condition right now, she didn’t have someone to guide her and must unearth everything on her own, which declined her progress.

Meanwhile, all the Serafim after Na was someone, who was tasked to continue Na’s role, since Decratic had not yet been truly destroyed, thus the next Serafim should be the balance of all the antagonism in this realm that would continue to happen, until Decratic was no more.

It could be said, the power that the Serafim after Na had, was not the pure power of the Serafim, where they needed to purify themselves in the Great Shrine every now and then to regain their strength after being exposed to so many devilish things.

In Abby’s case, she had never been in Great Shrine, because the map to reach that place had disappeared for decades.

"That the question we need to figure out," Cane replied.

"I think I only get more and more task to join this trouble!" Lou groaned, yet he couldn’t help himself and the temptation to be with Iris, ever since they met for the first time.

"Why do you think I am the Serafim? I only dream about the swords, it doesn’t mean I am the Serafim, right?" Iris asked, she knew Cane wanted to be vague with this matter, but Lou made this conclusion.

Lou shrugged his shoulders. "The current Serafim is weak as heck, she is only slightly better than a magic user and to see you manage to lift the curse on that king baby, which was the task the Serafim couldn’t do it, it will be more convincing to call you as the Serafim instead." Lou spoke about baby Vemion in mocking tone. He thought it was very ridiculous to have the baby as the king, but somehow, it was better than to have Alan to sit on the throne.

And yet, that person was not the real stupid Alan...

"Stop being touchy, can’t you?!" Lou grew frustrated when Cane affectionately wiped the stain of sauce from the corner of Iris’s lips.

Iris gave Lou a look, but Cane acted like he heard nothing. "Why? My mate was helping me."

"Come, I can help you too. I will wipe your face too," Lou grumbled.

However, Iris had not yet retorted to that sarcasm when she suddenly felt this chill and dreadful feeling. Her whole body was shivering and she was having a hard time to breath, this fear hit her so hard.

"Iris?!" Cane immediately knelt down in front of her and tried to calm her down, though he didn’t have any idea why she reacted like this.

"What’s wrong?" Lou asked, he came closer to them with confusion on his face.

"Did you do something to her?!" Cane snapped, because earlier they were bickering and the first thing that came to his mind was this merchant did something to mess with his mate.

Lou immediately raised both of his hands. "Are you crazy?! I will never do that!"

Cane shifted back his attention toward Iris, who was having a hard time to breath, her whole body was trembling and her face turned so pale.

Iris felt this ominous feeling, but this time it was greater than anything she had ever felt before. The feeling almost like when you had to face your own death, as if you were on the mercy on your predators and you could see your own demise in their eyes.

Fear was an understatement for what Iris felt at this moment.

"What the hell is happening?" Lou checked the bench, he had this ridiculous idea that his magic suddenly stopped working and the bench turned cold again, but it seemed fine, everything was fine.

"They are... they are coming," Iris stuttered when she tried to warn them.

"What?" Lou couldn’t hear what she said, but Cane could.

"Who is coming?" Cane held her cold hands tightly, as if telling her he was there, because right now, his mate looked like she was not aware of her surroundings, she was drowned in her own fear. "What do you mean?"

"What? What she said?" Lou knelt down in front of Iris too, even though it was uncomfortable to be this close with the alpha.

"We need to go, we need to warn all the people to take the shelter..."

"Who? What is coming, Iris? What do you feel?" Cane caressed her cheek and wiped her tears.

"The monsters... the dark magic... it’s very strong... so strong it hurt me..." Iris wrapped her arms around her belly, her instinct as a mother to protect her children.

"Dark magic?" Lou frowned.

"Can you feel that?" Cane shifted his attention toward Lou, he stood up and sat down next to Iris, hugging her trembling body in order to calm her down, leaving Lou knelt down in front of the two of them.

"There is no one can feel dark magic with only the presence of it." Lou stared at Iris. "Well, I think she is an exception."

"Cane, we need to go now!" Iris became frantic because the two of them didn’t move as quick, as she wanted them to be, since they couldn’t feel what she felt and the urgency of the situation.

Right at that time, the bell rang and not too far from them there was a portal, which was opened. It looked like a blackhole. Iris and Cane were familiar with this, since they had seen it a few times when Lou did the same thing.

As if time had frozen in this winter, they stared in disbelief as a monster came out of the portal.

"Oh! Shit!" Lou stood up immediately when he watched Vermeyes crawled out of the portal.

Vermeyes was a monster with a pair of small red eyes, which didn’t match with its monstrous body, though this creature couldn’t run fast enough, but the monster was very destructive.

"Shit!" Lou only had one magic stone that Cane gave to him earlier to warm the bench.

On the other hand, the alpha shifted into his beast.
