The Alpha: Claiming His Enemy's Daughter
Chapter 656: A VICIOUS SMIRK

Chapter 656: A VICIOUS SMIRK

If they needed to leave this place, they needed to do it quickly, because the warrior from the Winter Moon pack had started to besiege the whole area, they closed the gates and used the pack member to threaten Cane and his people to back off.

Meanwhile, the remaining warriors inside the gates tried to fight them off with no avail, since they were being greatly outnumbered.

At the same time, small groups of warriors that Cane had assigned, started to move as well. Cane had expected this, but the scale of chaos was bigger than they predicted.

Inside the pack house of Diandem pack, there were two secret passageways that would be used by those groups, Cane had formed, to escort the people out.

The first group would be the seven warriors that protected the luna.

However, they stuck here because of these people blocked their way. Not all warriors from Diandem pack betrayed Cane, but definitely the former beta and gamma along with the other fifteen warriors shared the same sentiment about fighting against their new sovereign.

Alpha Nolan would be behind all of this, because these people wouldn’t be brazen enough, to go against Cane without any back up.

"Hand over the luna and I will let all of you go!" Argean said in loud voice. He took a step closer, but Zephyr, in his beast form, snarled at him. The beast was ready to tear him apart.

Meanwhile, Zale looked very vicious, he was full of a killing intent, even for his age.

"Do you really think you can leave unscathed from this kind of betrayal?" Aliana narrowed her eyes. "The alpha will definitely kill you once he got a hold of your neck."

"Only if he is alive to do so," Grory scoffed. "Do you know your alpha is in dire situation? Currently, he and his people stuck between the Winter Moon warrior and the Royal warrior. He can’t bring his people to take shelter inside Diandem gates because alpha Nolan has conquered this pack. Do you really think he can survive?"

All of them were seething and Iris was fuming. Her hand that held Zale’s tightened without her knowing it when she did what she needed to do.

It happened so fast and none of them realized what was going on when Grory let out a shrill scream in the end of his nasty speech, he dropped to his knees and clutched his chest tightly, as if his life was being sucked out of his body and he was having a hard time to breath.

It was excruciatingly painful. The warrior had gone to a handful battles and sustained some serious injuries, but those experiences were nothing compared to this. The agony was slow and harrowing, as if he was being shredded to pieces, while still alive.

Grory felt it happened for long time, while in fact, it only happened for a mere few seconds.

"What is going on?!" Argean fell on his knees as well, as he watched in horror how Grory’s face turned blue and fresh blood oozed out of his mouth. Something was extremely wrong with him!

Grory didn’t die right away, but he kept bleeding and his eyes dimmed, as if his life left his body, even though he was still alive. That was when you knew the spirit beast inside of the shifter had died...

"Black magic... Black magic..." Argean mumbled to himself when he watched Grory’s current state. "This must be dark magic!" he roared angrily. "Someone must have cursed him!" He stood up and glared at the warriors that surrounded their luna. "One of you must be a dark sorcerer!"

On the other hand, Eron, Aliana and the other warriors were dumbstruck, they didn’t even expect something like this would happen. They didn’t even know what was going on and what the cause of Grory’s pain.

They were utterly speechless when Argean accused them for using dark magic when there was no magic user among them.

"Kill them! Kill them all! There is dark sorcerer among them!" Argean roared his order to the other fifteen beasts, who took his side and shared the same craziness like him to betray Cane. "Kill them all!"

Grory current condition frightened Argean, as he wanted these pests to be killed, just in case it would be his turn next.

And just like that, it was indeed his turn, because a second later, he let out a wailing sound, as if he was being slaughtered when he fell to the ground, his body convulsed wildly, while fresh blood came out of his nose and mouth.

All of them watched in horror upon what happened to Grory and Argean. By the time Argean stopped wailing, fresh blood still came out of his mouth. The two of them were still very much alive, you could see from the way their chest moved when they were breathing, but there was no sign of life in their eyes. They were dead inside.

"Wh- what’s going on...?" Aliana was dumbfounded, this was the first time for her to witness this disturbing sight and her first instinct was to cover Iris’s eyes, so she didn’t need to witness it.

Yet, when she looked at the luna, Aliana’s heart skipped a bit, as she saw there was a little smirk on the corner of her lips, her eyes glinted with malice, almost like she enjoyed this horrid sight.

Did she just see thing?

And miles away, another sword had broken...

==============================

"If you really want to fight them, can’t you do it properly?!" Nala growled at Lou, she chastised him for his failed attempt to kill the warrior and now, they were being hunted down by two angry beasts.

"Can’t you stop talking for at least a week? You give me a headache!" Lou pulled Nala into one of the rooms and locked the door behind them. He tried to push a cabinet to block the door, but he simply didn’t have enough strength to do so. "Use your energy for something useful and push this cabinet to block the door!"

"How can you ask a woman to push something heavy?!" Nala asked incredulously.

"Then, who I should ask?! There are only the two of us here!" Lou snapped back at her. "Stop acting all lady like, we are going to die if you don’t stop your bad habit to complaining over small thing!"

Cursing under her breath, Nala pushed the cabinet. This was the first time she really bickered with a man, because she feared most of them and they wouldn’t tolerate such behavior, but strangely enough, this merchant brought the worst of her and she couldn’t explain why she couldn’t keep her anger level in check. This man was simply annoying whenever he decided to be a jerk!

"Can’t you give me a hand?! This is very heavy!" Nala grunted when she moved the cabinet with her shoulders. Though it was not a big cabinet, but they used solid woods, which was heavier than usual woods.

Meanwhile, outside the door, the two of them could hear how the two beasts finally found the right room, where they were in, probably because they heard their loud argument.

Grumbling, Lou came over and helped Nala, both of them pushed the cabinet to block the door, in time when the beast managed to make a hole on the door.

"Damn it! Why your kind is very strong?!" Lou hissed. He slumped down on the floor, once the door was blocked, but even though they managed to be safe now, it didn’t mean, they could stay here forever, they needed to get out and join with the other.

It wouldn’t make any different for Lou if he fell into alpha Nolan’s hand, now they learned he had sided with the royal.

"I will take that as a compliment..." Nala was breathing heavily, she sat down next to Lou. This must be her first labor work in her whole life, if you didn’t count harsh sex as one.

"Now think of a way to get out of here alive," Lou commanded her.

"What?!" Nala scrunched her nose and looked at the merchant with disdain. "You just told me to move this big cabinet and now you ask me to think also?!" She literally growled at him, something that she wouldn’t have done if this merchant was one of the men in her life.

Lou literally commanded her to save his ass.

"I am very tired, okay. I can’t think." Lou closed his eyes, sweat appeared on his forehead and he looked so pale.

Despite his annoying personality, the sight of him right now made Nala softened a little bit. She was worried this merchant would die and she wouldn’t have someone to support her. Her life would be more miserable than this.

"Okay, okay..." Nala held her throbbing head. She tried to think of a way to get out of this situation, she stood up and looked around, trying to find something, anything that could help them, even though she was not sure what she was looking for. "Wait what should we do...?"

Meanwhile, outside of the room, they could hear how determined the two beasts to get them and inside the room, Lou’s eyes turned sharp, he looked around, as if he was waiting for something, as he kept rubbing the ring in his finger.

Damn Sabian! He takes very long! I am going to haunt him for the rest of his life if I died here!

For a moment, Lou was reminded of that man that look like Alan, but obviously it was not him, since he could use magic. Shifter couldn’t use magic!

Who was that?

=============================

It was Zale, who initiated the first attack, while the rest of the warriors around him were flabbergasted upon seeing what just happened before their eyes.

The young boy pulled his hand away from Iris when she loosened up a little bit and then shifted into his beast, which snapped them out of their shocked and the fight broke out.

Technically speaking, they were being outnumbered, but somehow, it was easy enough for them to kill their enemy, even Zale managed to kill one.

Meanwhile, Aliana stayed close to Iris, just in case there was a beast that managed to escape from the protection of the warriors, in this position, it allowed her to observe Iris a little bit more closely and she was sure, the luna had something to do with how easy their enemy were killed.

Something was off with the way she watched everything unfolded before her eyes without even blinking. Aliana used to know her as a timid person and hated violence, but right now, Iris looked very indifferent...

It didn’t take long before they managed to kill the fifteen beasts, especially when Joel and Finn joined in.

"What’s going on here? Weren’t they the warrior from Diandem pack," Finn asked, bent his body politely toward the luna.

"Luna, are you, okay?" Joel immediately approached Iris to see if she was harmed. "You look a little bit pale.

"It’s okay, I am fine," Iris said gently, she smiled to reassure the young warrior. He got even taller now.

"Let’s go, we need to move now." Zephyr shifted into his human form and Reed took his role to stay in his beast form.

"Why don’t you go also?" Iris asked when she saw Joel and Finn fell back, she held Zale’s hand tightly again now, afraid this young boy would run off again like before.

"We- we will go after you," Joel replied, a little bit stumbling with his words.

"Why don’t we go together?" Iris insisted and saw the reluctance in their eyes, but it was Aliana, who let her knew.

"They are tasked to protect Sofia and her baby, luna. It will be inconvenience for you if the two of you in the same place.

As if on cue, they heard a soft cry from a baby.
