If there was a woman who really got pregnant with his child, it would be Iris, because she was the last person he had been intimate with, but both of them knew how highly impossible it was.

They had not been intimate since Iris went through her first heat and it was months ago, if she was really pregnant, she would be showing by now.

Because of what happened to him, sex with Cane would always be very rough and raw, as he couldn’t control himself once he got aroused and Aria knew that. If it was not for her advances all the time, Cane and her wouldn’t have had sex as much as they did, since Cane didn’t do it all the time with Iris.

He was very careful with his mate. Thankfully, whenever he was with her, it was the peace he craved the most from her, not the thought of getting pleasure from her, especially after he learned what she had gone through, there was no way, in his conscience, Cane would want her to revive such trauma.

"Who is this woman?" Cane asked, as he saw how Iris’ expression turned a little bit sour. Somehow, it made him a little bit relieved, because her calm and collected self was really disturbing.

Hearing this, Redmond came closer, he was agitated because he heard how Cane had a child with another woman. He didn’t remember when this alpha got time to fool around with another woman, aside from Iris, more so, he was very busy nowadays and he didn’t think he would have time for such a thing.

But, as it turned out, the Alpha really knew how to make the most of his time.

Redmond was angry with this thought, as hundreds of possibilities ran through his mind. This child would be a threat for Iris’ position in the Howling Wolf pack.

He couldn’t believe it, there was a time he admired him, though he wouldn’t admit it, with the way Cane stood up for Iris and killed Alpha Gill for what he had done, despite it changing the entirety of his plan, but from the looks of it, he was no different from any other alphas. He couldn’t control his lust and one woman would never be enough to satisfy him.

Redmond was seething inside on behalf of Iris.

"Her name is Sofia. She is from the Moon Dew pack, Alpha Gallot’s mistress." Jace narrowed his eyes at Cane. He didn’t know what to feel about this news. "She is currently six months pregnant. It seems she conceived when you went to the Black Market and stayed in the pack house." Jace glanced at Iris, whose expression had returned to being stoic again.

Jace was not sure whether to believe it or not. If that woman was really pregnant with Cane’s child, it meant his infertility problem had been solved, but of course, it would bring another trouble for them, since the woman clearly didn’t come with good intentions. She was the mistress of Alpha Gallot after all. This must be premeditated.

"Kaz had received her and currently, all the pack members have known about this news and they are overjoyed on your behalf," Jace added.

The way Sofia came with her ladies and guards had caused quite a commotion, especially when she announced it out loud about how she was pregnant with the Alpha’s child. This would be the Alpha’s firstborn. The next in line for the title.

The news was so refreshing for them, because it brought hope for the pack, since they had been waiting for this kind of news from their luna for months now, yet Iris was still not with a baby in her stomach.

On the other hand, Redmond seemed to recall something. "Alpha Gallot’s mistress?" He furrowed his brows.

But, it was Cane, who genuinely confirmed what was in his mind. "Hm. Your child." And after saying that, Cane took Iris’ hand and helped her to get onto the carriage. It was enough for them to see those heads of the alphas. In the end, it was not a good sight to see in the morning.

Meanwhile, Redmond was dumbfounded. He was speechless and couldn’t think straight, while Jace was stunned.

"What do you mean?" Jace wanted to ask Cane, but he already got in the carriage with Iris and closed the door, not wanting to be disturbed, thus the Beta directed his question to Redmond instead. "What happened here? What does Cane mean by the baby being yours?"

Jace didn’t go to the Black Market, thus he was clueless about this detail, after all, this was not an important piece of information that would intervene with their plan, something he didn’t need to know, but who would have thought, Redmond would be naïve enough to finish inside the woman and not take any precaution, as he assumed the woman would take the Dragonheart tea after their intimate moment.

"What is it?!" Jace grew frustrated, because Redmond didn’t answer his question. "Hey! Answer me, is that baby yours?"

However, instead of answering the question, Redmond threw a dagger look at Jace before he stormed off to take a seat on the coachman’s seat. He looked distraught. He was having a child? He was... a father?!

In his mind, he imagined a little creature that looked like him, drooling and crying... what would become of the child to have him as a father and... whoever that woman was as their mother.

Meanwhile, inside the carriage, Iris refused to look at Cane, though it was very obvious that the Alpha wanted to say something to her, as he openly stared at his mate, who looked at the fortress from the small window inside the carriage.

Cane sighed, he leaned over and took her hands, he squeezed them gently to get her attention, but Iris tried to withdraw her hands from his grip, unfortunately for her, in matters of strength, they couldn’t be compared, but it didn’t mean she was not as stubborn as him.

"Are you angry?" Cane asked, despite Iris not looking his way and this time, she closed her eyes, pretending to be asleep.
