The Alpha: Claiming His Enemy's Daughter
Chapter 374: SHOCKING NEWS IN THE MORNING

Chapter 374: SHOCKING NEWS IN THE MORNING

"What kind of rubbish is this!?" Lady Cyan gritted her teeth, as she squeezed the letter in her hand and closed her eyes to control her emotions, she looked so livid.

But, before she could get a complete grip of the whole situation, another guard came to report another piece of important information.

"There is a letter from the Holy Kingdom, My Lady."

"What? Holy Kingdom? What do they want?" Lady Cyan frowned. She knew the words would get to the Andelus continent eventually when the King decided to make it public about the lycan and black magic, but it shouldn’t be this fast. At the very least, the fastest they would get any reaction from the Holy Kingdom would be three months from now.

The guard looked hesitant, as if he was about to say something, but he didn’t know where to start.

"Speak!" Lady Cyan hissed through her gritted teeth. She no longer looked as calm as she used to be and seemed rather terrifying at this moment.

"It was Prince Alan, who sent the letter to the Holy Kingdom, he explained everything that happened here and asked them for help, to retrieve his position and prove his innocence."

And how did the guard know about that when it was only Lou and Alan himself, who knew the gist of the letter?

Of course, it was because the merchant leaked the information... so the guard could explain this to the King.

Without saying a word, Cyan rushed out of the room, barefooted and with only a thin cloak covering her nudity. She couldn’t care less about her appearance right now. She needed to discuss this with her brother and hasten their plan, or else, everything they had worked for would go down the drain.

All of the reports about what happened in the south were sheer bullshit! She knew damn well there was no black magic whatsoever in the south! Especially at such a huge scale, which involved the five packs.

With all the alphas executed, it only left Cane alone as the sole alpha from the south and Lady Cyan was not that stupid to not see what the Alpha from the Howling Wolf pack was aiming for.

Cane was so sleek and cunning, she underestimated him.

Yet, the question was; was everything that happened only a coincidence? Or had it all been planned beforehand? Was it premeditated? And how could anyone involve a lycan? Who had summoned that creature? Was it Cane who had summoned it? He performed black magic? The thought of it was beyond her...

Cyan couldn’t say for sure about that.

===========================

Inside the carriage, the atmosphere was so still, aside from the sound of hooves thumping, neither Cane nor Iris said anything. They were weirdly silent throughout the journey to the fortress, where the Alpha had ordered them to hang the heads of the five alphas.

It took two hours to reach the fortress by carriage from the pack house and when the carriage stopped, Cane walked out first before he helped Iris to get down. They did it naturally and everyone who was present there could tell they had done it countless times before.

Once Iris had steadied herself, she let go of Cane’s hand and walked closer to the fortress, where she could see the five heads on the spikes.

Iris immediately recognized Gill’s head, despite the head missing its lower jaw. If the other heads had been cut off at their necks, Gill’s head had been ripped off from his mouth.

"What happened to his mouth?" Iris asked calmly, her eyes glued to the weird remnants of Alpha Gill’s head. She didn’t blink and her blue eyes held no trace of fear at all. She looked so calm as Cane observed her from the side.

"I ripped his mouth," he replied simply.

"Was he in pain?"

"Yes."

Iris said nothing, she stared at the other four heads, as if the gruesome sight before her was nothing. Her indifference was very concerning.

Even Redmond, who stood a few meters away from her, found her behavior very weird, as if Iris had turned into someone else.

There were no tears, she didn’t even avert her gaze, but there was no anger in her stance either. Her lack of emotions made him frown deeply. He thought she would stay inside the bedroom for a few days before they returned to the Howling Wolf pack, because that was the plan Cane had for her, but who would have thought she would ask to come here?

Redmond didn’t believe that at first, but now, he was unsure what to believe. Iris looked like someone else...

"He deserved that," Iris said after a long moment of silence, responding to Cane’s confirmation over how Alpha Gill writhed in pain when he died.

"Yes."

"And also Kellan, the King, and all the people like them. They deserve the same ending."

Cane stared at Iris and for the first time, he saw pure hatred in her eyes. Her blue eyes looked so dim, filled with rage and anger he didn’t know she would be capable of harboring.

Right at the same time, miles away, the light surrounding the five swords dimmed even further.

"Cane, we have a problem," Jace said, as he interrupted the Alpha and the Luna’s moment, because this matter was so urgent and Cane needed to know about this immediately.

Iris tilted her head when she saw Jace rush over.

"Speak," Cane said, but the Beta looked reluctant because Iris was so close and was staring at him now, but when the Alpha didn’t say anything, he didn’t have any other choice, but to report it in Iris’ presence.

"A woman just arrived in the Howling Wolf pack this morning and she claimed she is pregnant with your child."

Cane glanced at Iris first, as he caught her expression slightly turning sour. "Who is this woman?" He asked calmly, as if the news didn’t bother him at all, since he was well aware the only women he had been intimate with were Aria and his mate.
