The man frowned slightly and said, "With our current situation, we can’t take her with us. We don’t know her identity, so bringing her back would be risky. We can’t let anyone know our current location, or we will put everyone in danger."

Hearing her elder brother’s words, the girl gasped in surprise and asked, "So we just let her die here?"

The man turned to look at his younger sister and saw the distress on her young face. He looked back at Huan Yun again and sighed. After a moment of silence, he helplessly said, "Fine. Let’s take her back with us."

After finishing speaking, the two siblings walked back to Huan Yun. Looking at her bleeding wounds, the girl untied the cloth bag on her back, opened it, and took out a piece of cloth. She looked at her elder brother and said, "Elder Brother, help me cut the cloth into long strips. We need to bandage her wounds first to stop the bleeding."

The man took the cloth from her and cut it into long strips with his sword. After bandaging Huan Yun’s wounds for ten minutes, the girl tied the cloth bag on her back and said, "Elder Brother, I’m done."

The man nodded, then carefully picked up Huan Yun from the ground and carried her on his back. Afterwards, the brother and sister erased their traces along the way as they walked away. Half an hour later, the siblings met another group of people.

Seeing them coming, one of those people walked towards them and said, "Advisor Fan, you are finally here. We just saw several groups of barbarians passing by here. If you still haven’t come, I will go and find you."

Fan Zhengyin nodded to the man and said, "I saw a wounded young woman on the road, so I decided to take her with me. I hope General Bai won’t blame me."

After hearing what he said, Bai He glanced at the young woman carried by Fan Zhengyin on his back. He was shocked when he saw the young woman was covered in blood. Bai He turned to look at Fan Zhengyin and asked, "Advisor Fan, are you sure she is still alive?"

Nodding his head, Fan Zhengyin said, "Yes. But she needs treatment as soon as possible."

Bai He looked at his sweaty body and said, "Advisor Fan, you must be tired. We have prepared a horse carriage for Seventh Miss Fan. Just let this young lady ride in the horse carriage together with Seventh Miss Fan."

Fan Zhengyin nodded and said, "All right."

After carrying Huan Yun on the mountain road for more than half an hour, Fan Zhengyin felt really tired. With Bai He’s help, he put Huan Yun into the horse carriage. He then looked at his younger sister and asked, "Xue’er, can you take care of her?"

Fan Zhengxue nodded and said, "Um. Leave her to me, Elder Brother."

After gently rubbing her head, Fan Zhengyin closed the door and got on his war horse. Since they came here incognito to map the surrounding area and collect information about the barbarians, there were only Fan Zhengyin, Bai He, and twenty elite soldiers besides Huan Yun and Fan Zhengxue. Once discovered by the barbarians, it would be difficult for them to escape unscathed.

Fan Zhengyi knew that they couldn’t stay here any longer, so he looked at Bai He and said, "General Bai, I have already mapped the surrounding area. We must leave this place quickly before the barbarians discover us. Otherwise, it would be difficult for us to leave this place alive."

After hearing what he said, Bai He knew that there must be many barbarians nearby besides those groups he saw just now. He nodded to Fan Zhengyin, and then ordered the soldiers to return to their military camp. Inside the horse carriage, Fan Zhengxue found out that Huan Yun had started to develop a fever and hurriedly used water she brought to cool Huan Yun down.

The next day, when the moon was already hanging in the night sky, Bai He saw the lights in the distance. Sitting on the horse, Bai He looked back at the horse carriage for a few seconds, then looked at Fan Zhengyin and said, "Advisor Fan, the military camp is not far from here. Let us hurry up."

Fan Zhengyin looked back and knew that Bai He was worried about the young woman inside the horse carriage. After more than a day’s journey, she really couldn’t wait any longer. The two of them looked at each other for a second and then sped up.

It didn’t take long for the soldiers standing on the watchtower to see them approaching at fast speed. He squinted his eyes and saw Bai He and Fen Zhengyin at the front of the group. Seeing the two of them, the soldier raised his flags and sent signals to the soldiers below to open the gate.

After receiving his signal, the soldiers guarding the gate of the military camp hurriedly opened the gate. A few minutes later, Bai He and the others rode into the military camp without stopping. As they passed through the gate, the soldiers quickly put the barriers back in place and closed the gate again.

Arriving at the stable area, Bai He stopped his war horse, jumped off and threw the reins to the soldier managing the stable. He looked at Fan Zhengyin and said, "Advisor Fan, please take a rest tonight. I still have something to do, so I will take my leave first."

After Fan Zhengyin nodded to him, Bai He walked away in a hurry. Fan Zhengyin then turned around and walked towards the horse carriage. He opened the door and saw Fan Zhengxue sleeping inside. Looking at his younger sister’s tired face, he gently picked her up.

Fan Zhengyin held Fan Zhengxue in his arms, looked at a soldier standing beside the horse carriage and said, "Please send this young lady to the infirmary. Help me tell the physician that she is my guest."

"Yes, Advisor Fan." The soldier saluted him, then drove the horse carriage directly to the military infirmary.
