Chapter 388: Wake Up

After the soldier drove the horse carriage away, Fan Zhengyin walked back to his tent with his younger sister in his arms. As for Huan Yun, after the soldier sent her to the infirmary, the physicians were busy saving her life.

Ten days later, when everyone thought Huan Yun would never wake up, she opened her eyes. Before Huan Yun could see clearly, she heard a man next to her ask, "Young Lady, can you hear me?"

As soon as Huan Yun moved, she felt a pain in the back of her head and her whole body, then she let out a soft groan. The physician heard her hoarse voice and went to pour her a cup of water. He brought the water back and fed it to Huan Yun bit by bit with a spoon.

After drinking the water, Huan Yun looked at the physician and asked weakly, "Where am I?"

The physician put the cup on the table, then looked at her and calmly said, "Young Lady, you are so lucky. Advisor Fan found you unconscious on his way back and brought you back."

"Advisor Fan?" As she asked, Huan Yun moved slightly and pulled at her wounds.

The physician quickly stopped her and said, "Don’t move around yet. It’s a miracle that you can survive after suffering such an injury."

After the pain subsided, Huan Yun looked at the physician and asked, "Am I in a military camp?"

The physician nodded and said, "Yes. This is the Night Army’s military camp."

After hearing the physician’s answer, Huan Yun thought for a moment and asked again, "How long have I been in a coma?"

"Today is already the tenth day since you were brought back by Advisor Fan and General Bai." The physician replied after counting the days.

Hearing his answer, Huan Yun thought to herself: ’Hu Wenfeng should be fine now, right?’

While she was thinking, the physician looked at her pale face and said, "I will prepare your medicine first. Young Lady, you’d better rest more. Remember, don’t move around or your wounds will bleed again."

Leaving those words behind, the physician walked out of the tent. Unlike other patients, Huan Yun is a woman and therefore assigned to a small tent. She looked around the small tent and only saw a small table, two wooden chairs, and a single bed where she was currently sleeping. With a tired sigh, she closed her eyes and fell asleep again.

When Huan Yun woke up again, it was already broad daylight outside. The physician noticed the slight movement from the small bed and raised his eyes from the bamboo scroll in his hand. Seeing Huan Yun wake up, he put the bamboo scroll on the table, stood up and walked toward the small stove placed not far from the table.

While pouring the medicine out of the medicine pot, he asked, "Young Lady, do you feel better? Do you feel dizzy or nauseous?"

After sleeping for a few more hours, Huan Yun’s body indeed improved a lot. She observed the physician carefully and saw that he was not much older than her. Huan Yun smiled gratefully at him and said, "I feel much better now. Thank you, Physician."

The physician walked to the bedside with the bowl of medicine, sat on the chair and said, "You don’t need to thank me, Young Lady. It’s my duty to take care of my patients."

After speaking, he blew on the medicine for a while to let it cool down a bit, then scooped up the medicine with a spoon and said, "Please drink the medicine first."

Huan Yun nodded, and then slowly drank the bitter medicine with the help of the physician. After she finished the medicine in the bowl, the physician said, "I will get you something to eat."

Huan Yun nodded and said, "Thank you."

The physician nodded to her and walked out of the tent with an empty bowl and medicine pot. Not long after, he came back with a tray. There is a bowl of millet porridge on the tray.

Putting the tray on the table, the physician picked up the bowl of millet porridge and sat on the chair beside the bed. Thinking that it would be too embarrassing to be fed by him again, Huan Yun tried to sit up. As soon as she made a small movement, she took a deep breath and hissed in pain.

The physician quickly reached out to stop her and said, "Young Lady, please don’t move around for now. It is really not easy for us to bring you back from the brink of death."

Huan Yun felt grateful and embarrassed at the same time when she heard what he said. She looked at the steaming bowl of millet and then at the physician again.

Noticing her gaze, the physician coughed lightly and said, "There are no female physicians in the military camp. I hope you can bear with me for the time being."

Not wanting to make the atmosphere awkward, Huan Yun shook her head and said, "I’m very sorry for the inconvenience I caused to you, and thank you for taking care of me."

Looking at her beautiful face, the physician coughed again, blushed slightly and calmly said, "You should eat the millet porridge while it’s hot."

After saying that, he scooped up the millet porridge, blew it a few times, and carefully fed it to Huan Yun. It took her more than ten minutes to finish the small bowl of millet porridge.

The physician held the empty bowl, looked at her and said, "You need a lot of rest for now. I will go out so you can sleep at ease."

After saying that, the physician covered Huan Yun with a thin blanket, and then walked out of the small tent. Outside the small tent, the physician looked at the two soldiers guarding the small tent and said, "If the young lady needs anything, please call me."
