Supremely Talented Tyrant -
Chapter 936 - 935 You're lying to me!?
At 2 PM, Bai Herong arrived early with Lin Yu and a few others at the old warehouse that Cao Bo had mentioned. Looking at the deserted warehouse, his brows furrowed slightly.
"Brother Rong, did we come too early? After all, Little Bo said three o'clock…"
Lin Yu also felt they had arrived too early. Seeing Bai Herong's furrowed brows, he hesitated for a moment before speaking up.
"If we're early, we're early. We'll just wait a bit longer." Bai Herong thought for a moment and waved his hand dismissively, deciding not to dwell on it.
He had to wait until this deal was finished before addressing any other matters. The last thing he wanted was an unpleasant fallout that eventually escalated to Hao Jian finding out about this. Bai Herong didn't doubt for a second that Hao Jian would retaliate against him!
"Then let's wait! They should be arriving soon anyway."
Lin Yu nodded and quickly retrieved a few chairs from the car's trunk. The group sat at the warehouse entrance, waiting for Cao Bo to arrive with the weapons.
Initially, the group became a little restless from arriving so early. But over time, their minds were consumed with visions of them using those guns to eliminate Hao Jian, returning to their family to bask in admiration. Even Bai Herong was no exception.
After all, Hao Jian's reputation wasn't earned from boasting but through sheer strength. If they could take Hao Jian down, it would prove their capabilities were even greater than his!
Wouldn't they then deserve everyone's admiration?!
But such pleasant fantasies were destined to remain just that—fantasies. Half an hour after they arrived at the old warehouse, Hao Jian finally arrived, leading a large entourage.
"They're here!"
Hearing the commotion outside, Bai Herong slowly opened his half-closed eyes, a glint of light flashing in them. He continued sitting, one leg crossed over the other. He was one of the Bai family's Young Masters—would he really go out to greet a mere arms dealer? Obviously not. Status alone made the gap between them insurmountable.
Seeing Bai Herong remain seated, Lin Yu and the others hesitated but followed suit. Whatever Bai Herong did, they would do; there was no reason to provoke him.
"Clip-clop…"
Hao Jian slowly parked Enzo by the roadside and stepped out of the car. As he exited, people pouring out of the vehicles behind him followed suit. Under Spice Ginger's lead, they walked to Hao Jian.
"Young Master Hao, this is the agreed location. Bai Herong should be inside now. We noticed tire tracks on the road earlier that don't belong to our convoy. If I'm not wrong, they should belong to Bai Herong's group!" Spice Ginger reported quickly.
Of course, this discovery wasn't made by Spice Ginger himself but by some detectives among the people behind him. Apart from them, no one else knew about this old warehouse. Any outsiders showing up here must overlap with those like Bai Herong who had motives to come to this deserted place.
After all, only Bai Herong and his group had such intentions right now.
"Should we apprehend them immediately?"
The group stood about five hundred meters from the warehouse. While Bai Herong couldn't possibly see them, they could vaguely discern Bai Herong's position despite the distance and the slight blur.
"No rush. This place is deserted; they won't escape even if they try…" Hao Jian smirked, waving his hand to signal Spice Ginger and the others not to act hastily. If Bai Herong and his group tried to flee, they'd still have to contend with Hao Jian's grasp.
At these words, Spice Ginger nodded. Turning to Cao Bo at his side, he smirked oddly and said, "I wonder how their faces will change when they see you later?"
Always quiet and reserved by Spice Ginger's side, Cao Bo let out a bitter laugh. "Brother Spice Ginger, please don't tease me. I wouldn't have sold them guns if I hadn't seen that they were Young Master Hao's enemies. Idiots like them wouldn't even get my time otherwise."
"Haha! Honestly, whether you intervened or not, they wouldn't have harmed my boss. Your whistleblowing just expedited their demise!"
Having followed Hao Jian for so long, only someone like Spice Ginger understood the sheer power Hao Jian held in Hua City and how terrifying he was in the eyes of the city's elite scoundrels.
"Enough, Spice Ginger. Stop chatting. Let's go inside."
Though Hao Jian was used to being flattered, the pressing matter at hand was to capture Bai Herong and his group. He needed a clear plan of action for what came next, so with these words, Hao Jian strode toward Bai Herong's location.
"Yes!"
Seeing Hao Jian take the lead, Spice Ginger immediately followed, accompanied by Cao Bo and the others. At the same time, Spice Ginger's hand moved subtly toward his waist as he cautiously watched Bai Herong's group.
These young scions might have defensive measures, possibly even firearms. Even if not, it was best to stay alert…
"Hao Jian!?"
When Hao Jian arrived in front of Bai Herong's group, their faces turned as pale as a sheet. Bai Herong instinctively gasped in shock.
"Why is it you?! How did you know I'd be here?!"
"On my turf, did you think I wouldn't be able to find you?" Hao Jian smiled faintly at Bai Herong, though a cold glint seeped from his eyes.
Bai Herong's actions this time had crossed Hao Jian's bottom line—not because of Bai Herong's plot to kill him using firearms, but because he dared to purchase weapons on Hao Jian's territory!
If Bai Herong's target hadn't been him but someone intimately connected to him, or if the weapons had been for use against Hao Jian's subordinates, the consequences would've been unthinkable.
It was precisely because of this that Hao Jian resolved to crack down hard on anyone privately trafficking arms—or worse, drugs—in Hua City. He would never allow drug trafficking on his turf, though arms dealing would remain an exception—so long as it was under his control.
After all, by Huaxia's strict laws, such activities were explicitly forbidden...
"Bastard! You're one of Hao Jian's men?! You betrayed us?!"
Out of nowhere, Lin Yu's enraged voice erupted. His face pale, yet full of fury, he pointed at Cao Bo by Spice Ginger's side and lashed out. "I can't believe you've done this! Do you think you can still operate in Capital City like this?!"
"Haha!"
Hearing Lin Yu's words, Cao Bo let out a cold laugh. "I've always been Young Master Hao's subordinate. Dealing with you is only natural. Besides, do you think your Lin Family, with its measly billions in assets, can stop me from operating in Capital City?!"
Lin Yu's words faltered immediately. It was true that the Lin Family only had billions in assets. While Cao Bo might be no match for them financially, Lin Yu hadn't anticipated Cao Bo's connection to Hao Jian.
Thinking of Hao Jian's infamous deeds in the Capital City, Lin Yu began trembling, sweat dripping from his forehead. His family's influence wasn't capable of stopping Cao Bo from returning to the Capital—mostly because they dared not try. The name "Hao Jian" carried more weight than raw power and was even more influential in Hua City!
"Why are you still yapping? You lot, grab those brats for me!" Impatient at Lin Yu's continued rambling, Spice Ginger waved his hand in irritation and summoned his men to take action.
"Yes, Brother Spice Ginger!"
Spice Ginger's men responded promptly, grinning wickedly as they approached Bai Herong's group. From their jackets, they pulled out pre-prepared ropes.
"What… What are you doing?! I'm Bai Herong! A Bai Family Young Master! If you lay a finger on me, my… my Bai Family won't let you off easily!"
He was one of the Bai Family Young Masters! How dare these scoundrels treat him this way?! Damned Hao Jian!
Why was this happening? Everything had been carefully planned out on his end. Yet it all fell apart because Hao Jian saw through him. If captured, even his life might not be his own anymore. Worse still, his actions would bring shame to the Bai Family. Even if he survived, his status in the family would plummet beyond recovery.
"Heh, I'm curious to see exactly how your Bai Family plans to save you after I've captured you…" Hao Jian chuckled coldly as he lifted his foot and forcefully stomped on Bai Herong's face, a bone-chilling coldness in his tone that even made his own men shudder.
Hao Jian didn't care much about the others. Their family ventures were small fries, irrelevant in his eyes. Bai Herong, however, was different—he represented the Bai Family! If that family came for him in full, it would indeed be troublesome. The best course of action, then, was to strip Bai Herong of the ability to pose any threat.
In this cutthroat world, the only solution was to deal with Bai Herong once and for all. If Bai Herong plotted against him this time, who's to say he wouldn't do it again to someone else?
For that reason, Hao Jian gave Bai Herong no room for dignity. While it wasn't time to kill him just yet, he had to make Bai Herong taste utter humiliation first!
"The rest of you…"
With his foot pinned against Bai Herong's face, Hao Jian turned to look at Lin Yu and the others...
