Supremely Talented Tyrant -
Chapter 935 - 934 I think I know now
"Brother Spice Ginger..."
After ending the call, Cao Bo's face darkened. He picked up his phone and dialed a number. A heavy voice came from his mouth: "Someone just called me to place an order for a batch of goods. They plan to use these goods against Young Master Hao. What should we do?"
"Damn it! What else can we do?! You must let Young Master Hao know!"
Spice Ginger, eating takeout in his office, heard Cao Bo's words. His expression changed dramatically. He hurriedly swallowed his food and asked, "Who are they?"
"Not very clear. All I know is one of them is a playboy from the Lin Family, a moderately ranked family in the Capital City. Back when I worked as an informant there, I had some contact with him. Since he seemed approachable, I left him my contact information..."
As Cao Bo recounted, Spice Ginger nodded in acknowledgment...
It turned out that Cao Bo was one of Spice Ginger's trusted subordinates, often tasked with critical assignments. Otherwise, he wouldn't have been put in charge of overseeing arms deals.
As for these arms deals, Spice Ginger saw them as a way to ensure his men had the ability to protect themselves, not as a core business operation. After all, they worked under Hao Jian, who had no shortage of money.
Since money wasn't an issue, selling arms served more as a method to gather intelligence. Unexpectedly, trying to establish connections in the Capital City recently had led to some setbacks. One incident nearly cost his trusted subordinate his safe return.
Despite these challenges, Spice Ginger hadn't immediately sought Hao Jian's help. These were minor problems—albeit tricky ones—that he had mostly resolved over time with careful handling.
Sure, if Hao Jian got involved, he might solve the issue with a single word. But doing so would make Spice Ginger look incompetent. Over time, Hao Jian might view him as useless and stop relying on him.
"For now, you're in charge of this matter. Make sure to stabilize those people first. After I've consulted Young Master Hao, we'll decide our next steps. Prepare the arms, but under no circumstances hand them over! We have our principles!" Spice Ginger contemplated briefly before speaking.
Hearing this, Cao Bo nodded and said, "I've thought about that too. If not for the fact that they mentioned Young Master Hao, I wouldn't have bothered dealing with them. Now it seems I'll need to monitor them even more closely..."
Their arms business was primarily a front to collect intelligence, and sales were strictly selective. If the buyer posed a threat to Hao Jian, they wouldn't do business with them. Even when proceeding with deals, they maintained a delicate balance.
For instance, if one family needed arms to stabilize their position, but this would outmatch a rival family and disrupt local order, Spice Ginger's team might sell discounted arms to the rival side to even the odds—thus indirectly maintaining regional stability.
But this time, the buyer intended to use the arms to target Hao Jian. Naturally, there was no way they would deliver the goods. Even if they knew the goods posed no real threat to Hao Jian, they would still refuse!
"No need for additional monitoring. In Hua City, I don't believe anyone can hide from me or slip past my watchful eyes!" Spice Ginger outright rejected Cao Bo's monitoring suggestion, a confident sneer lingering in his tone. After multiple intelligence lapses in Hua City, he had doubled down on reinforcing their networks.
Thanks to the efforts of his subordinates, Hua City was now a fortress-like stronghold under his control.
At this moment, he was absolutely confident in his statement. After all, their adversaries this time weren't elite Special Forces operatives, just some spoiled brats, making them far easier to deal with.
"That's settled, then. I'll hang up now. Keep tracking the issue, and I'll consult Young Master Hao to see how he wants to handle it." Spice Ginger spoke deliberately. In the end, the decision lay with Hao Jian. Hua City belonged to Hao Jian...
"Understood!"
Cao Bo acknowledged, then promptly hung up the phone.
Meanwhile, on the other side, Hao Jian was enjoying a steak dinner in an upscale steakhouse with Shu Ya. His phone suddenly rang. Glancing at the caller ID, a slight frown crossed his face.
"What's wrong?"
Noticing his change in expression, the attentive Shu Ya asked with concern. However, as her gaze shifted to the mound of shopping bags by Hao Jian's side...
"It's Spice Ginger. Not sure what it's about. Let me take this." Hao Jian shook his head, gave a brief explanation, then pressed the answer button. Spice Ginger's voice came through the receiver.
"Young Master Hao! I just got word from Little Bo that someone's trying to buy goods from us to target you..."
"Oh? Buying my goods on my turf to come after me?" Hao Jian chuckled, curious which fools would attempt such a ridiculous plan.
"Little Bo only knows they're trust-fund kids from the Capital City. He's still investigating specifics," Spice Ginger quickly added.
"No need to investigate. If they're from the Capital City and targeting me, I already know who they are." Hao Jian chuckled softly.
With these conditions, it had to be Bai Herong and his ilk. No one else would have the arrogance—or ignorance—to challenge Hao Jian on his own turf.
"Then let Little Bo keep an eye on them," Spice Ginger suggested after a moment of thought.
"Alright, let him monitor them. By the way, when's the deal supposed to happen?" Hao Jian asked.
"Tomorrow afternoon at 3 PM, at an old warehouse in the suburbs."
"Alright, I'll meet you at noon tomorrow. Bring a dozen brothers with you. I'd like to see for myself how these brats plan to deal with me..." Hao Jian sneered dismissively, clearly unworried by Bai Herong's group.
After all, these were just entitled young men who could only bully those below their league. To challenge Hao Jian? Their families combined probably wouldn't dare. This was Hao Jian they were dealing with, after all!
"Understood!"
On the other end, Spice Ginger nodded firmly. After the call ended, he absentmindedly set his phone aside and resumed eating his dinner. Meanwhile, his mind raced, pondering how many men to bring tomorrow.
This was a rare opportunity to stand alongside Hao Jian. Too many eager admirers who fawned over Hao Jian wouldn't be ideal...
By noon the next day, Hao Jian arrived at Spice Ginger's office building as planned. The plaza in front of the building, typically quiet, was now lined with over a dozen cars—mostly BMW sedans and even a few Mercedes sports cars.
Each car was flanked by three men standing silently. With over ten cars, the group totaled thirty to forty people. The imposing sight of the cars and men gathered in one spot was undeniably striking.
These were the members Spice Ginger had assembled to accompany Hao Jian to the warehouse for the confrontation. A fiery gleam of admiration burned in each of their eyes.
Every one of these men had joined Spice Ginger's crew after hearing stories of Hao Jian's exploits. They had long dreamed of meeting the man behind those tales. Today, that dream was finally within reach even if they wouldn't have the chance to speak to him directly—the mere sight of Hao Jian up close was enough.
Standing among them, Spice Ginger wore a calm expression. Beside him, however, Cao Bo appeared a lot tenser.
Spice Ginger, being close to Hao Jian and meeting him often, had grown used to his presence. But this was Cao Bo's first interaction with the legend himself. His excitement was barely contained.
"Rumble..."
As the group waited, the sudden roar of a sports car engine echoed in the distance. Spice Ginger's previously half-closed eyelids snapped open. With a low shout, he announced, "Brothers, our boss, Young Master Hao, is here!"
"Greetings, Young Master Hao!"
As Enzo came to a stop at the entrance, the crowd erupted in a deafening cheer. Their voices vibrated with unrelenting fervor, so loud that even the nearby trees seemed to quiver.
"Clack..."
Hao Jian stepped out of the car, his gaze sweeping across the crowd. Internally, he sighed. Really, was it necessary for Spice Ginger to create such a spectacle just to handle a few hooligans?
But now wasn't the time for such thoughts. He couldn't afford to douse their passion.
Hao Jian laughed heartily and addressed the group: "Since everyone's ready, let's get moving. Follow my lead!"
With that, he waved his hand dramatically and got back into his car. The engine roared to life, and he sped toward their destination.
The assembled crew gave a loud, unified cheer before piling into their respective cars. Led by Spice Ginger, the convoy of nearly fifteen vehicles began their powerful journey toward the target warehouse...
