Supremely Talented Tyrant -
Chapter 914 - 913: Where Did You Go Wrong?
"Old Man Zhang's son is here! This young guy is in danger, hurry and call the police!"
The surrounding crowd noticed Old Man Zhang's son appear. Some were puzzled, while others showed deep unease. Some even hastily reached for their phones to call the police.
"Old Man Zhang's son is mixed up in gang circles! How could this lanky young guy possibly be his match? There's trouble brewing..."
"Well, if there's trouble, he brought it on himself. Would you dare intervene? Old Man Zhang's son is not someone to mess with!"
"Alright, tone it down. If Old Man Zhang's son hears us, it won't be a joke. Since someone's already called the police, let's keep our distance and wait for them to handle it."
Perhaps someone noticed the comments were getting a bit too loud. They stepped in and stopped the chatter...
The onlookers had no idea of the young man's situation. If they knew what was happening now, maybe they wouldn't be so concerned...
"Young Master Hao, I... I was wrong!"
Faced with someone like Hao Jian, the young man felt bitter inside and stumbled over his words. Cursing his father for getting him into this mess, his face showed both respect and fear.
"Oh? What exactly did you do wrong?"
Hao Jian chuckled lightly, as if he didn't care much about the situation. But seeing Hao Jian act like this, the young man's cold sweat started to pour even faster.
"Damn it! Did my son get bullied by you?!" Old Man Zhang was furious when he saw the look of terror on his son's face in front of Hao Jian. His expression darkened even further upon seeing Hao Jian's smug demeanor, and he roared angrily.
To him, his son had always been fearless in the gang world. But now, he was acting submissive toward this young man. Old Man Zhang felt humiliated. He wanted to shout to remind his son: "I, your father, have never been afraid of anyone, and neither can you!"
"Dad, can... can you just shut the hell up?!"
As Old Man Zhang spoke, the young man's expression shifted abruptly. Forgetting about pleading with Hao Jian, he turned back suddenly, grabbed his father, covered his mouth, and shouted at him in panic: "Dad, are you trying to get me killed?!"
"Even my boss would greet Young Master Hao with respect and call him 'Young Master Hao.' Now you're saying this nonsense—are you trying to get your son killed?!"
"This kid? Your boss is actually scared of him?! He's barely twenty—how strong could he be?" Old Man Zhang, whose mouth was covered by his son, heard the words and his expression changed slightly. Then he pried his son's hand away, shouting defensively.
"My... my pride... my car!" To Old Man Zhang, nothing was more important than his pride, except maybe his car, which ranked even higher.
Hao Jian scratched his Ferrari, which felt to Old Man Zhang like a slash to his pride—like he'd been cut, twice!
"No matter what you say today! I lost face because of him, and I have to get it back even if it costs me my life!" The more he thought about it, the more emboldened Old Man Zhang became. In the end, he waved his hand angrily at his son and roared, "If you won't help me, I'll find someone else to!"
"Dad... this... this isn't child's play!" The young man grew more anxious, seeing his father's stubbornness escalate at this critical moment. Glancing at Hao Jian, he noticed the man's gentle smile hadn't wavered and instantly felt a chill inside.
This was definitely a bad sign!
"Get lost! I don't have a son like you!"
Old Man Zhang had initially thought his son had changed, buying him such a car. But now it became clear the guy was still the same! Without giving his son any room, he roared furiously.
"This bastard has bullied me, and you're taking his side instead of defending your father? It's like your heart's leaning toward him! Get lost! I... I!"
"If you don't get lost now, I'll... I'll break your legs!"
Old Man Zhang grew increasingly enraged, even contemplating taking off the expensive leather shoes his son bought him and throwing them...
"Alright, alright... I'll go!"
The young man was utterly undone by his father's sudden stubborn streak. He quickly waved his hands, stepped away, and turned to Hao Jian, bowing repeatedly with apologies spilling from his lips.
"Young Master Hao! Please, be magnanimous. Don't stoop to my father's level..."
"If there's anything you'd have me do, just name it—I promise I'll get it done!"
After finishing his plea, the young man rushed toward his car, got in, started it immediately, and hit the gas, fleeing the scene while praying his father wouldn't do anything reckless...
"Heh, at least the kid's not so bad!"
Watching the direction the young man had fled, Hao Jian chuckled lightly. Then he turned to Old Man Zhang and sneered, "What kind of luck do you have? You managed to raise such a good kid, but now you've chased him away when he was trying to help you..."
Stubborn people really don't think things through. In Hao Jian's eyes, Old Man Zhang was a prime example. His son had wanted to save him, but Old Man Zhang refused.
"Hmph! Brat, don't rejoice just yet! My useless son won't help me, but I still have people in the police station!" Old Man Zhang remained defiant, glaring at Hao Jian with hostility.
Hao Jian didn't even know how to respond to such behavior. This guy had crashed into Hao Jian's car, and Hao Jian initially hadn't planned to make a big deal out of it. Yet here they were, with things escalating beyond all reason.
With this turn of events, Hao Jian couldn't help but wonder how this stubborn old man might look after getting thoroughly humiliated.
"Uh... why did Old Man Zhang's son run off? And he seems pretty afraid of the young guy..."
"Yeah! Judging by their interaction earlier, it looked like Old Man Zhang's son was trying to convince him of something and got driven away instead. Just who is this young man?"
"We're just here to watch the drama unfold, not get involved..."
The onlookers, witnessing the argument between the young man and his father and the former's submission to Hao Jian before fleeing, wore expressions of disbelief.
In their eyes, Old Man Zhang's son was a formidable figure. Otherwise, how could he have carved out a name for himself in gang circles? After all, Old Man Zhang's son worked for a famous boss in Hua City and was even a trusted lieutenant. He was reputed to be fearless, not even intimidated by certain officials.
"Ha! Your son can't help you, and now you're looking for outsiders—what a joke!" Hao Jian didn't mind rubbing salt in the wound. He sneered mockingly, looking at Old Man Zhang with contempt. "I can't imagine how you manage as a father, acting like a stubborn teenager..."
"You... YOU! Brat, you're asking for it!"
Old Man Zhang grew increasingly furious, glaring at Hao Jian with fiery eyes and gritted teeth. "Fine, I'll admit my son's a failure. But you've thoroughly pissed me off!"
"Oh? Haha! Don't make me laugh. Seriously, that's one of the funniest things I've heard today!" Hao Jian's face remained carefree and amused, a stark contrast to Old Man Zhang's rage.
Earlier, Old Man Zhang's antics had riled Hao Jian. But the stubborn man's absurd actions deflated Hao Jian's anger, leaving him with nothing but a bemused smile.
Even if Hao Jian wanted to stay mad, just thinking about Old Man Zhang's ridiculous behavior dissipated any anger, leaving only amusement...
"You'll regret this, boy!"
Seeing Hao Jian's reaction, Old Man Zhang suppressed his urge to raise a fist. He knew deep down that no matter how angry he was, he couldn't defeat Hao Jian. He'd already sensed this earlier.
"Hey! Big Dragon! Your bro is getting bullied. Get over here, now!"
Old Man Zhang pulled out his phone and dialed the number for one of his buddies in the police force. Once the call was answered, he hung up with satisfaction. But as he thought about Hao Jian, his expression dimmed again...
"Mark my words. This debt won't be settled until I've squared accounts with you today!" Old Man Zhang grinned cruelly at Hao Jian, folding his arms as he positioned himself to block the nearby alley, lest Hao Jian tried to flee...
Old Man Zhang's actions didn't escape Hao Jian's sharp gaze. He shook his head inwardly. If I wanted to leave here, I would've done so long ago. Do you really think you can hold me here?
Glancing at his watch, Hao Jian checked his phone for an update from Tongtong's teacher. He nodded slightly; Tongtong's school dismissal was still about ten minutes away, and the school was just a block away...
I'll give this old man five minutes. If the time's up, I'll go pick up Tongtong first. As for this stubborn fool, I'll let Spice Ginger handle the rest...
Hao Jian shook his head lightly.
