Supremely Talented Tyrant -
Chapter 913 - 912: Boy, Wait for Me!
"Huh? Isn't that Old Man Zhang? And his Ferrari..."
Among the crowd watching the commotion, quite a few people recognized the man, and they were equally puzzled. But when they noticed the tiny scratch on the body of Old Man Zhang's Ferrari, they immediately understood.
"Heh heh, isn't it just because that guy was in a rush and ended up scratching some young man's car? Now look, he's trying to flip the blame onto the young man instead..."
"That old bastard's just relying on his thug of a son, isn't he? Lately, a lot of people have suffered because of him. If the cops hadn't happened to show up in time back then, he might have really gotten away with it."
"Seriously, just the other day, he was showing off his Ferrari to the rest of us. Damn, if he didn't have power now, I'd hardly even bother listening to his nonsense!"
With his sharp hearing, Hao Jian filtered through the noisy chatter around him. He more or less pieced together what kind of person this middle-aged man was, and the corners of his lips slowly curved into a subtle smile.
A thug for a son?
Now that's some entertainment...
"Kid! Hurry up and pay me! Ten grand!"
Ignoring the crowd's chatter, Old Man Zhang waved his hand dismissively and pointed at the small scratch on his car. At the same time, he stretched out his other hand towards Hao Jian, making a "money-grabbing" gesture with his fingers, his tone brimming with arrogance.
"What if I don't?"
Resting his arm on the car window, Hao Jian leaned forward, smiling as he looked at Old Man Zhang. His smile was light, but his tone made Old Man Zhang's expression instantly darken, and he snorted coldly.
"If you don't... then this is what happens!"
"Boom!"
Old Man Zhang lifted his foot and kicked straight at Hao Jian's car headlight. His leather shoe made direct contact, smashing the headlight instantly.
"Damn it!"
As the headlight shattered, the smile on Hao Jian's face froze bit by bit. He opened the door abruptly, stepped out of the car, and walked right up to Old Man Zhang.
"You think you can just kick my car whenever you feel like it?!"
"Bang!"
Without hesitation, Hao Jian threw a punch straight at Old Man Zhang's face. He didn't hold back at all, landing punch after punch, venting all his recent frustration.
While Hao Jian showed no mercy, the crowd watching from a distance began to cheer silently. Old Man Zhang was the epitome of a heartless, wealthy bully, always using his money and influence to oppress ordinary folks. Now seeing him get beaten up, an inexplicable sense of satisfaction spread among the onlookers.
But after the initial enjoyment, worry crept in. They all knew Old Man Zhang's son was a thug, and not just any thug — he'd made quite a name for himself. Considering the circumstances, it was almost certain that Old Man Zhang would call his son for help. Just thinking about his son made a few people want to warn Hao Jian, but worried about the consequences, they suppressed the urge.
"Kid! You're looking for death!"
Old Man Zhang, battered and bruised, climbed up from the ground clutching his face, his anger visible as he pointed at Hao Jian and roared, "A worthless little punk dares to hit me?! Are you out of your damn mind?!"
"Oh? So how exactly do you plan to end my life?"
Crossing his arms in front of his chest, Hao Jian showed no signs of leaving. Instead, he smiled nonchalantly at Old Man Zhang, his gaze deep and angry, with a faint trace of killing intent beneath it all.
"Just you wait!"
Hao Jian hadn't held back in his punches — the bruises and aches all over Old Man Zhang's body were excruciating. Driven to madness by the pain, he kept yelling at Hao Jian, until finally, he pulled out a gaudy gold smartphone studded with diamonds from his pocket and dialed his son's number.
"Son! Your dad got hit by someone at XX crossroads! Hurry over and teach them a lesson! Your dad's been beaten up!"
"Yes, yes! Bring your people here right away!"
Old Man Zhang kept nodding, his eyes brimming with rage as he glanced at Hao Jian. A cruel grin started forming, and his gaze gained a menacing edge.
"Kid, just you wait!"
Hanging up the call, Old Man Zhang chuckled darkly, glaring at Hao Jian as he guffawed, "When my son gets here, I'll see how cocky you still are!"
Hearing this, Hao Jian chuckled lightly and nodded, saying, "Well, since we're here, I might as well see how capable your son really is."
Everyone in Hua City who mingled in the underworld knew Hao Jian. Unless it was someone who didn't pay attention to such matters, most of them avoided provoking him at all costs.
Moreover, Hao Jian felt like this was an opportunity to deal with another nuisance. He had no patience for people who relied on their power to bully others. To Hao Jian, people like that caused more harm than some criminals.
"Tongtong hasn't finished school yet, has she..."
Stealing a glance at the time, Hao Jian noticed it was still about twenty minutes until Tongtong's scheduled dismissal from school. He paused momentarily, then shook his head and pulled out his phone. He sent a quick message to Tongtong's homeroom teacher asking her to keep an eye on Tongtong.
Soon after, Hao Jian received the teacher's reply, assuring him it was taken care of. Hao Jian breathed out a short sigh of relief, pocketed his phone, and turned back to Old Man Zhang, who was still waiting for his son's arrival. Sneering, Hao Jian said, "So... why hasn't your son shown up yet? If he doesn't hurry, don't blame me for leaving. I've got things to do."
"Hmph!"
Rubbing his swollen face, Old Man Zhang snorted at Hao Jian's comment and replied coldly, "What's your rush? Even if my son isn't here yet, do you think you can walk away?"
"If you dare leave, you'll regret it!"
"Heh heh..."
Hearing that, Hao Jian let out a quiet chuckle. Just as he was about to say something else, a sudden roar of car engines echoed from afar. His gaze sharpened slightly.
Here they come!
"Haha! Kid, my son's here! Let's see how you plan to leave now!"
Recognizing the distinctive engine sound and familiar paint color, Old Man Zhang had never anticipated his son's arrival so eagerly. The moment he spotted his son's car, his face lit up with excitement as he stumbled onto the street, waving his hands frantically.
"Dad!"
A mid-range Mercedes sedan worth fifty or sixty thousand dollars rolled up as a young man, probably around twenty-six years old, sat behind the wheel. Spotting Old Man Zhang, worry spread across his face as he quickly reduced speed and carefully maneuvered his car into the gap in the crowd.
Old Man Zhang's son had been out having dinner with his boss, negotiating for more jobs. It seemed like he was about to close a deal before this sudden phone call from his dad jolted him. He'd rushed away without signing anything, jumped into his car, and raced to the given location as fast as he could.
But as soon as he arrived and saw the current situation, he scrambled out of the car and hurried to his father's side. His eyes widened upon seeing his dad covered in bruises, his face clouding over with fury.
"Dad! What the hell happened to you? Are you okay?!"
Seeing his father in this state, the young man still hadn't paid the least bit of attention to Hao Jian, not even glancing at his face. All he cared about was inspecting his father's injuries.
"Son! You have to avenge me! This kid didn't just scratch the car you got me — he straight-up beat me up! Look at my face, my hands, my legs — these bruises were all his doing!"
Upon his father's dramatic appeal, the young man nearly forgot his primary task. Rage ignited, he spun around abruptly and shouted, "Kid... is it you?!"
He pointed a finger arrogantly at Hao Jian, his tone dripping with menace. The sharpness of his voice caused the surrounding crowd to shift uneasily, retreating slightly; nobody dared step closer.
Everyone knew Old Man Zhang's son was notorious in the underworld. If dragged into this, they'd lose their lives without even knowing how!
The young man was livid, but as he fully turned towards Hao Jian, his voice cut off abruptly like a duck being throttled when he saw Hao Jian's teasing expression...
"What's wrong? Yes, it's me..."
With an ambiguous smirk, Hao Jian stared calmly at the young man. Judging by his startled reaction, it seemed this guy knew exactly who he was. Hao Jian's words carried an undertone of danger as he added, "So? Are you planning to stick up for your dad?"
"Yo—Yo—Young Master Hao!"
Meeting the familiar face, the young man trembled uncontrollably, his outstretched hand quivered as his voice faltered, "I... I didn't know it was you here..."
Holy crap! How did Dad provoke someone like this?! This guy was infamous — even my boss wouldn't cross him and prayed his lackeys wouldn't provoke him either. Yet now, my father's gone and dragged me into it?!
The young man's heart sank. While he hadn't personally witnessed Hao Jian's methods, he couldn't ignore the reverence his boss showed whenever his name was mentioned. This was not someone to mess with!
"Oh? So you're this old man's son..."
"Let's see how you're planning to deal with me now..."
