Chapter 92: Chapter 92: Negotiating Terms
Early the next morning, Peter received a call from Phoenix Taylor. The woman who had been missing for a day said as soon as she opened the mouth: "Let’s find a place to talk."
Peter was overjoyed and said, "Alright, you pick the place."
The two quickly agreed to meet at a teahouse.
When Peter arrived at the location after washing his face and brushing his teeth, Phoenix was already waiting there. Peter laughed when he saw the door of the teahouse was closed tightly: "We came too early!"
Phoenix’s face turned red as she said, "I didn’t expect it to be closed yet. You haven’t had breakfast yet, right? Let me treat you."
"No need, let me treat you."
After being polite for a moment, the two went to a breakfast shop and started eating breakfast.
While eating breakfast, Phoenix said, "I’ve had someone test your wine, and it indeed has no harmful substances or anything like that. All the contents meet the standards of health products."
"Of course, it’s purely made from herbal medicine, with no issues. It also has an enhancing effect on the vitality and energy of men and women."
At this point, Phoenix thought back to the pleasure she felt after drinking more of the wine the night before, and her face turned slightly red.
Frankly, since Phoenix left the multinational wine group, she felt a bit down. She knew it would be difficult to find such a large company, but she wanted to start her own business. She had the ability but no products. She was very familiar with wine sales, but without good products, no matter how hard she tried, it would be useless.
When her cousin asked her to examine Peter’s wine, she had some interest in taking a look. In fact, deep down, she didn’t have high expectations for anything made by a farmer like Peter.
What was supposed to be a casual look turned into a surprising discovery that this wine was exceptional and could be easily marketed. After testing it herself, Phoenix became even more convinced of this wine’s quality.
"How much would you want for the recipe?" Phoenix suddenly asked.
Peter paused, then smiled and said, "I don’t need any more money."
"What?"
Phoenix stared at Peter in surprise. His answer amazed her. Peter said he didn’t need any more money. What kind of person was he?
"I’ll give you one billion. Sell me the recipe," Phoenix bluntly stated.
Peter chuckled again, "Last time I made 300 million from gemstone gambling, plus the money I made before, I’ve had more than 4.5 billion. I really don’t need money."
Phoenix’s face turned red as she was taken aback by this statement, and she was feeling a bit humiliated. Peter was turning down her offer and saying he already had 4.5 billion. This felt like a slap in the face.
Calming herself down, Phoenix thought that her offer must not be high enough. There couldn’t be someone who wouldn’t sell for the right price.
"Two billion, even if it means that I have to borrow most of the money!"
"My goal is just to find someone to help me manage the company. I won’t sell. In fact, I haven’t even started selling the wine yet. I’ve already sold the general agents across the province. Some earned a million dollars, and some earned three million. There’s no shortage of agency fees. As long as the wine is produced, it can be sold. I just don’t have time to manage it. Actually, I don’t really want to make too much money. I just want our village to increase its income through this. If this doesn’t work, I can just find someone from the village to manage it."
These words made Phoenix feel even more frustrated. To Peter, a top-notch marketing and management expert like her was just someone to help manage the company?
At this point, Phoenix remembered what Peter had said about the agents. Her face darkened as she said, "You sold the general agents so cheaply?"
"It wasn’t that cheap, it just happened to be the amount of money I needed, so it solved a pressing need."
Now, Phoenix was speechless. Peter had just said he didn’t need any more money, yet now he said it solved a pressing need.
Phoenix sighed quietly, realizing that there was no possibility of buying the recipe and starting her own business.
Knowing that she couldn’t buy the recipe, she turned her attention to managing the company.
"How much share are you giving me?" Phoenix asked.
Peter looked at her and said, "How much do you want?"
"I’ll invest another 2 billion, accounting for 40% of the shares."
Peter smiled and said, "There’s no need to discuss that. The shares have already been allocated, and I’m just looking for a manager. I’m not selling shares."
"If I help manage the company, I believe with my abilities, the company will definitely go global and make a lot of money for you!"
Phoenix’s voice suddenly became louder.
Peter laughed and said, "I’m just a small farmer. Why would I need so much money? If I can improve the situation in my village, that’s enough. My philosophy of making money is completely different from yours. I just want everyone to increase their income."
Phoenix stared at Peter for a moment before stomping her foot angrily, "You! How could you allocate the shares like this?"
Peter then explained the allocation of the shares to Phoenix.
After listening to how Peter had allocated the shares, Phoenix was surprised and said, "How could you do this? The wine factory obviously belongs to you. It has nothing to do with the village. You control the technology. Even if it was elsewhere, you’d have cheaper land. You could even say the factory belongs to you personally. How could you allocate so many shares out?"
Peter smiled and said, "I don’t care about money. As long as the village can develop, that’s enough."
"I disagree!"
Phoenix suddenly shouted.
Peter was genuinely startled by Phoenix’s outburst and looked at her.
Phoenix calmed herself down and said seriously, "This won’t do. I’ll help you reallocate the shares. Do you understand this wine’s development and that it will eventually make a huge amount of money? There are only a few people in your village. They’re bound to get wealthy. Don’t you want to help more people? If you have the money, you can help more people. Your 60% share is absolutely not enough. I’ll be the Flower Creek Group’s General Manager from now on. I’ll talk to them."
Peter was even more stunned by this. He didn’t understand what this woman was thinking.
"As I said, it’s impossible for you to take that many shares from me. I wouldn’t agree to it."
After some thought, Peter said.
Phoenix smiled and said, "Don’t worry. I won’t take more than 5% of the shares, so I won’t have more than your father."
After hearing this, Peter thought about what Phoenix had said carefully. He felt that her words made some sense. He figured she was a professional, and if the company was handed to her, she could probably make it develop and grow. So, he decided to let her take control, as long as the general direction didn’t go wrong.
