Chapter 1784: Chapter 1782: Fight for Oneself

Peter Brown now knew that this was a major battle between the Purpolia Kingdom and the Blue Star Kingdom. The current situation was clear: the Purpolia Kingdom was at a disadvantage.

From various indications, Peter Brown could guess many things. This battle was doomed to end in defeat for the Purpolia Kingdom. His group charging forward would not be able to stop the Blue Star Kingdom’s onslaught; it would only lead to a dead end.

Standing here, Peter Brown looked around at everyone, seeing an air of defeat that enveloped them, even the high-ranking officers lacked any courage to fight to the death.

It seemed he had to fight for himself!

Peter knew that in such a place, he could not act rashly. His only option was self-preservation.

Thinking of the items he had on him, Peter felt a bit more confident. If possible, he would escape when the time came!

The troops quickly assembled, and then, under the leadership of a Five-Star General, they all moved towards the frontline.

Peter walked alongside some leader-level personnel who had no subordinates, overhearing their private, hushed discussions.

"Guys, we’re in for it this time!"

"Keep it down, don’t let anyone hear you."

"Sigh, the elite forces at the frontline have already been defeated. What are we in comparison? We’re walking into certain death."

"That’s right, it’s just a death march. I heard it’s to facilitate the retreat of some bigshots."

"By the way, did anyone get a Mission Order? As long as you have one, even if you’re scattered and return, you won’t get in trouble."

"That’s tough, nowadays Mission Orders are in hot demand. One order is worth tens of thousands of Divine Stones; how many of us could get our hands on one?"

"We’re just not wealthy or powerful enough. Look at those young masters; they’ve already escaped with Mission Orders in hand."

Mission Order?

Peter was confused and quietly asked a two-star person next to him, "What’s a Mission Order?"

"You don’t know?" The two-star person looked at Peter with surprise.

"Yeah, I just heard about it, but I don’t know what it is."

"Everyone knows about it. A Mission Order is a task issued by the military. Normally it’s nothing serious, just an excuse, a license to desert in the face of battle. Once they get to the rear, they just have to present the Mission Order and they won’t be treated as deserters. Those with connections can even use it as a merit. In times like these, if you have a Mission Order, you can legitimately escape."

"Is it customized, or what?"

"It’s customized, assigned specifically to individuals for certain tasks. If it weren’t, they would have been snatched up by now."

So that was it!

Peter was speechless about this strange Mission Order; it was clearly an act that weakened morale. How the military could sanction such a thing was beyond him.

"Peter, this thing is specially prepared for those aristocratic people; it has nothing to do with us. Stop thinking about it and focus on how to stay alive."

"Right, everyone says that on the battlefield, you can capture the enemy’s Life Stars. How do you know if the enemy possesses a Life Star?"

Peter then asked a question that puzzled him.

"Life Stars? Actually, not every person who possesses a Life Star can have it taken away. Take you, for instance; you must be from the Lower Realm. People from the Lower Realm have Life Stars, but even though they possess them, they’re not able to take them along. Only those who have reached the Five-star Level or higher have the means to merge their Life Star into their own world."

"So you need to be Five-star to carry it?"

"Yes, if you’re not at Five-star, nobody would believe you possess a Life Star. So, don’t worry about someone trying to take yours. In fact, most high-level cultivators don’t bother to take their Life Stars with them; after all, it’s actually less safe to do so."

"How can you tell if someone is carrying a Life Star?"

"You can tell someone has a Life Star if there’s a vitality aura on their person. The number of vitality auras corresponds to the number of stars they have. Of course, some may hide it, so on the battlefield, the most dangerous ones aren’t the low-level cultivators but the high-level ones."

Peter originally thought he could obtain a Life Star, but now he realized it wasn’t so simple. He inwardly lamented his own lack of cultivation.

As they were talking, dust rose up from the horizon, and then they saw a large number of Beast Horses racing toward them.

"It’s the Defeated and Retreating Army!"

Someone exclaimed in shock.

"Set up defenses!"

The General’s face changed dramatically, and he immediately gave orders.

An urgent sense of impending battle spread instantly.

Soon, everyone began to establish their positions.

The Soldiers started to form up.

However, from Peter’s perspective, the situation was dire. Clearly, the approaching troops wouldn’t be able to hold their ground, and what could his few tens of thousands do?

Fortunately, after the fleeing forces arrived, they too stopped, and both armies immediately reorganized, looking ready for battle.

Peter’s gaze shifted to the distance. Just one look, and he could tell that the pursuers must have arrived, ready to engage in combat at any moment.

"Kill!"

The Enemy Army advanced too quickly. In just a moment’s thought, their troops had already closed in for the attack.

Battle cries shook the earth, a testament to a traditional war’s intensity.

Peter knew his situation; he didn’t rush to the very front, nor did he fall back. After all, the Supervising Battle Team was still behind.

After activating his defense Divine Stone, Peter first glanced at the Enemy Army’s situation, then joined some Soldiers to charge into a group composed of one or two-star Personnel.

The Blood Slaying Three Moves wielded in Peter’s hands blocked the opposition’s onslaught move by move. However, he wasn’t exerting full force but constantly looking around for a chance to escape.

"Protect the young master!" someone shouted, and Peter saw a chubby three-star person being escorted out by his protectors.

Seeing this situation, an idea sparked in Peter’s mind, and he moved towards that direction.

Perhaps his chance for escape lay with this chubby fellow.

Peter saw clearly that protecting the chubby figure was a group of Three-Four Star Level masters who slashed through anyone in their path, allies and foes alike.

What kind of person was this?

Before he could wonder further, Peter was already getting closer to the chubby individual.

Suddenly, he saw a squad of the Enemy Army surge towards the chubby person.

Afterwards, Peter quickly moved back quite a bit, and all around the chubby figure, intense fighting broke out across the battlefield.
