Chapter 1783: Chapter 1781: Great Defeat
The Divine Realm Army had an interesting aspect: training was rare. After passing on a set of formation content, everyone was left to cultivate on their own in their tents, unlike the secular national armies that trained daily.
Peter Brown had his own tent, naturally, no one would disturb him.
Sitting cross-legged inside the tent, he would only hear a call to gather for meals.
Besides eating, Peter spent most of his time on research.
To be honest, Peter possessed many techniques, but they were out of sync with his current situation, especially in terms of acquiring and utilizing energy.
After studying several obtainable cultivation arts from the Divine Realm, Peter had more or less grasped the principles behind them.
Of course, understanding them was one thing, but modifying them would take time, as many aspects required prolonged deduction.
Now, Peter didn’t have time to deduce cultivation arts, as he could only afford to learn the upgraded version of Blood Slaying Three Moves.
His priority was to ensure his own survival.
With that in mind, Peter started to work on Divine Stone Charms.
The Twelve Daggers became his tools for inscribing Divine Stone Charms, and for now, he could only use these tools until he managed to get inscribing tools in the city.
However, these custom-made daggers were exceptionally sturdy, so Peter took a dagger and first inscribed ten Illusionary Charms, a task he was proficient at and completed quickly.
After that, it was time to inscribe a defense talisman.
For this talisman, Peter used a sealing technique, reckoning that it only required a small amount of Luck Energy to maintain the Divine Stone, which could be activated in critical moments.
In fact, this Divine Stone Charm, which Peter referred to as the Vajra Talisman, still followed the principle of the Vajra Talisman from Earth, albeit it was censured outwards when activated to prevent any sudden explosion from harming him, and that was all he could do for now.
Peter also inscribed ten of these talismans.
After completing the Vajra Talisman inscriptions, Peter sensed the condition of the talismans and was satisfied, knowing that not even Four-Star Peak individuals could harm him likely.
Seeing that there were still many Divine Stones left, Peter began to think about offensive matters. Although he couldn’t afford to use too much star power, if he sealed the energy in advance using the same sealing principle, he could simply attack using energy later.
After contemplating this principle for a while, Peter decided to apply it to the Twelve Daggers. His capability with hidden weapons was substantial, and if used well, he could potentially kill Four-Star experts and even threaten Five-Star People.
Initially, he thought about using the daggers, but then he dismissed that idea. Instead, he decided to inscribe directly onto the Divine Stones using the hidden weapon technique of the Flying Light Stone, naturally generating offensive power.
This hidden weapon method involved inscribing a formation on the Divine Stone, then massively sealing energy within it. Upon impact with an enemy, the Divine Stone would explode instantaneously, and depending on the amount of energy sealed, it could unleash formidable power.
The more Peter thought about it, the more feasible he found this method.
As for infusing energy, Peter opted not to use his own energy but instead inscribed an Energy Gathering Array to introduce energy into it, only needing to wrap some Luck Energy around the Divine Stone’s surface.
Despite the risk of using some Luck Energy for the sake of his safety, Peter decided to produce some of these Divine Stones, which he called Energy Bombs.
After deducing the new talisman situation for a while, Peter started inscribing.
Of course, the major challenge with this talisman was that the outer layer required a miniature formation to encapsulate the Luck Energy, which was crucial.
Although Peter was excellent in Talisman making, without the aid of Divine Sense, he scrapped two Divine Stones before finally succeeding with one.
Peter studied the inscribed Divine Stone further and, after ensuring there were no issues, he began infusing star power into it.
Upon infusion, Peter indeed discovered the separation of Luck Energy and Cosmic Energy.
He directed the Luck Energy to the outer layer of the Divine Stone and locked it with the formation, while the Cosmic Energy was drawn into the innermost layer.
After securing this process, Peter thoroughly checked once more and verified its viability before inscribing an Energy Gathering Array.
Subsequently, after setting up the Energy Gathering Array, Peter placed the Divine Stone in the center.
With the Divine Stone in place, a massive amount of energy began to be infused.
Success!
Upon verifying its feasibility, Peter picked up the dagger and continued to inscribe.
After a day, more than ten of these Divine Stones had been placed in the Energy Gathering Array in front of Peter.
Fully charging the energy wasn’t quick, but once it was all set, Peter just left the Energy Gathering Array to charge.
Unexpectedly, their army unit ended up staying there for several days.
Just when Peter noticed that every Divine Stone was fully charged, shocking news suddenly arrived.
Junior Captains were called into a senior captain’s tent, where he gravely told them, "The frontline has been defeated, our entire army is retreating. The Higher-Ups have tasked us with blocking the enemy, so prepare yourselves. In half an hour, we’ll head to the frontline!"
Defeat!
Upon hearing this, everyone’s expressions changed, and Peter was equally shocked, never expecting such a turn of events. If it were true, then their army charging ahead would be akin to a death sentence.
What to do?
Although everyone looked distressed, Military orders were absolute and beyond challenge.
The senior captain, looking equally grim, said, "Aside from our ten-thousand-man troop, nine other large groups, adding up to one hundred thousand, have also advanced. We might not necessarily lose. Go prepare now; we’ll be leaving soon."
No one dared defy the order; once issued, they were obliged to head to the frontline, or face execution by the Supervising Battle Team.
Peter returned to his tent, carefully stored the charged Divine Stones, wore all the necessary Divine Stones on his body, then packed up his entire tent into his storage bag.
Being alone, there was nothing much he could do. He swiftly reached the assembling location.
