Chapter 1779: Chapter 1777: Life-Saving Measures

When considering ways to preserve his life, Peter Brown meticulously analyzed each option. Firstly, he dismissed firearms from the Lower Realm, as they were not only inconvenient to acquire, but also of little use against star level Strong Persons. Therefore, for Peter Brown, the clear choice was to resort to the methods used by Cultivators.

But what methods should be used?

After some reflection, Peter Brown had no choice but to abandon many strategies. Given his current situation, those methods were simply futile.

So, what was the best way to protect himself?

Upon contemplation, Peter knew that even if he reached the battlefield, he wouldn’t be able to withstand the enemy’s assaults, so he wouldn’t actively seek to engage in battle.

Of course, Peter also realized another issue—once on the battlefield, if he didn’t charge into the fray, not only would the enemy kill him, but the Supervising Battle Team at the Rear would be enough to claim his life.

Thus, his options had narrowed considerably. Staying put was impossible; he would have to keep charging into battle. Given this, the best tactic might be to make it impossible for the enemy to kill him with a single strike.

At this thought, Peter felt quite helpless. If he encountered two or three-star Destiny Holders, survival would certainly be out of the question.

Hence, the best strategy on the battlefield was to avoid such formidable opponents at all costs.

Talismans were the only option!

After much thought, Peter realized he didn’t have many choices, and only the use of Talismans could address his predicaments.

Considering Attack Talismans was out of the question since they required a huge amount of star power to activate, and at his one-star destiny level, activating one could drain his vitality and kill him. A person stripped of their destiny was as good as dead, so neither attack nor defense Talismans were viable options.

Peter shook his head again thinking about defense talismans, which also demanded a significant amount of energy to activate—something he currently couldn’t afford to use.

Any talisman that required bodily movement needed a large amount of star power, so Peter had to rule those out.

If the movement was limited to a small area, it might consume less star power.

With this in mind, Peter felt that he was heading in the right direction.

Perhaps an Illusionary Charm would work, as it wasn’t too conspicuous!

His eyes lighting up, Peter considered these charms that required only a minimal amount of power to activate. If an enemy’s blade came slashing down, an illusory part of him would appear, fooling the enemy into thinking they had struck him, while Peter could counterattack and kill them.

Excellent!

The more Peter thought about it, the more he felt that this kind of Talisman was the most suitable for his current situation.

Of course, Peter was also aware that even with such a Talisman, it might not save his life if he encountered a powerful enemy.

But for now, this was truly the only kind of Talisman that could possibly save him.

Remembering that Paul Nash had given him several divine stones before his departure, Peter decided to start inscribing a Divine Stone Charm, although he really didn’t know if he could complete the inscribing process.

Seeing everyone else engaged in Cultivation, Peter didn’t want to inscribe within the barracks and knew he needed to find a secluded spot. With that in mind, he left the area.

The barracks were now eerily quiet, everyone understanding they were facing a life-and-death struggle, so they were all practicing their Cultivation intensely, with no one wandering around.

Appreciating this quiet, Peter sat down cross-legged behind a tent near a small hill.

This place was indeed secluded, offering a view of the surroundings at a glance.

Once he saw that no one was around, Peter took out a divine stone.

Inscribing certainly required a specialized carving knife, but Peter Brown simply had no such knife, as all items from the Lower Realm had been completely destroyed here.

Lacking a carving knife couldn’t stump Peter, who took out the broadsword he was issued.

Firstly, he secured the Divine Stone on the ground, and then, with a concentrating gaze, Peter recalled the Sword Techniques of the Blood Slaying Three Moves. With a flourish of his broadsword, he surprisingly began inscribing Dao Patterns with the sword techniques.

Yet, when Peter had finished inscribing a Divine Stone Charm, he discovered it sparked no transformation at all.

This isn’t right!

Only then did Peter realize the difference; the method of inscribing with Dao Patterns was entirely distinct.

Faced with this, Peter was somewhat at a loss.

What to do?

Peter knew that the distinction lay in the addition of Luck Energy. If he didn’t infuse such content into the Dao Patterns, no matter what kind of Talisman he inscribed, it would be unusable.

He hadn’t expected the problem to be so complex!

Sitting cross-legged, Peter didn’t immediately study the Talismans. Instead, he cultivated the Blood Slaying Three Moves, contemplating how Luck operated within the Cultivation Technique, while pondering improvement methods.

Time trickled by, and the night deepened. The barracks remained tranquil, as everyone was now fully immersed in cultivation.

At that moment, a thought suddenly struck Peter. If a Cultivation Technique could harness this approach, perhaps there was a way to use Luck to protect the Divine Stones. Then, following the workings of the Cultivation Technique, could creating a Luck defensive formation be the solution?

Peter was a man of action. He promptly took out another Divine Stone and rapidly began carving with the broadsword.

When the final stroke was complete, Peter looked at the Divine Stone and immediately sensed something different.

However, upon closer inspection, he discovered something was still amiss—the Talisman hadn’t truly become a Talisman!

What was it missing?

Peter truly marveled at this moment. In the Divine Realm, inscribing a Talisman was extremely difficult. It was just himself—combining two types of formations without them merging was something others would find nearly impossible.

That’s it!

Peter finally pinpointed the issue—the energy of Luck still needed to be infused!

Luckily it was only a Divine Stone, small in size, thus the protective Luck Energy needed should be minimal.

This time, Peter took out another Divine Stone. What needed to be inscribed was not just two sets of formations, but he also had to incorporate an energy storage formation.

After ruining two Divine Stones, Peter at last managed to complete inscribing an Illusionary Charm.

He infused his own Luck Energy into it.

Peter was fully committed this time, willingly depleting some of his Luck Energy to ensure the success of this Talisman.

Fortunately, it indeed required very little Luck Energy. When Peter had infused ten thousand points of Luck Energy, the entire Talisman was completed.

Looking at the Illusionary Charm he had created in the Divine Realm, Peter actually felt a sense of achievement. With this Talisman, his ability to preserve life would be significantly upgraded.
