Chapter 1626 - 1625: The Examination Is So Strict
Chapter 1626: Chapter 1625: The Examination Is So Strict
The examination took place in a university located in the provincial capital, and it was only after Peter Brown and the others arrived that they realized this examination was anything but ordinary.
All sorts of blockading equipment had been set up, and even cell phones were each placed into a bag and left outside; one could say there was a thorough check from head to toe, more stringent than the college entrance examination itself.
Seeing these measures, some of the more faint-hearted individuals immediately felt their legs tremble.
"Damn, is this an adult exam?" a middle-aged man lamented with a wry smile.
"I’m screwed, I thought it was just an exam organized by the Group company, so it shouldn’t be difficult. I even arrogantly registered for it, thinking I could just muddle through and get a certificate. There goes several thousand yuan!"
Only then did Peter realize that many people were indeed there just to get a certificate, thinking they just had to go through the motions before obtaining it, but now they were all taken aback.
A girl said, "The architect’s certificate is no ordinary certificate. I said it couldn’t be so easy to obtain, and sure enough, that’s the case. I just don’t know if the questions will be difficult." It was evident that this girl still felt somewhat confident about the certification exam.
"Director Wang, there really are no shortcuts, huh? I also thought I could just coast through and get a certificate,"
At this moment, Zora Grant also murmured quietly beside Peter Brown.
Over a hundred people were taking the examination, all gathered in an amphitheater-style classroom. Each person had their own desk and the teachers invigilating the exam were plentiful; it almost looked like there was one teacher watching every few rows.
When Peter took another look, even before the examination had begun, many people’s foreheads were already sweating profusely. The circumstances for the ten people who came along were not very good either.
"Everyone, please calm down. We will start the examination now." At that moment, a leader-like invigilator spoke up.
When one looked at him, his bald head was particularly noticeable, and he spoke in a very calm tone while wearing glasses.
The examination room fell silent at this time.
The teacher said, "This is an examination specially organized for your Group company after approval from the Superior authorities. All levels of leadership are taking this very seriously. I will reiterate the rules of the examination hall..." During his speech, he went over the exam rules for a while. After finishing, he looked at everyone and said, "Your Group company has already agreed on how to handle cheating: Anyone caught cheating, no matter who you are or what position you hold, will be dismissed from the Group company without any room for negotiation."
Seeing that no one said anything, the test papers began to be distributed.
Peter just glanced over the test paper and relaxed; the questions did not seem too difficult for him.
However, when he listened carefully, he could hear many sighs around him.
Not bothering with what others thought, Peter picked up his pen and started to work on the questions one by one.
With his exceptionally strong memory and comprehension skills, he proceeded smoothly, as if effortlessly flowing like clouds and water, without encountering any question that he couldn’t handle.
The invigilating teachers were truly responsible, watching each individual closely with eagle eyes, and they would quickly shift their attention at even the slightest noise.
There really were only a few individuals in the room who had seriously reviewed before the exam; most had believed that just by being organized by the Group company, they could earn a certificate with ease. Indeed, many were leaders from branch offices or project departments.
Peter was buried in his work while everyone else’s gazes darted around the room, but remembering the consequences of cheating leading to immediate dismissal, they truly didn’t dare to cheat.
In just one morning’s time, several sets of examination papers had to be completed; time was quite tight.
Peter had no time to worry about others and simply focused on solving the questions.
Two invigilating teachers noticed Peter’s pace and walked over to observe him working through the questions.
At a glance, they noticed that Peter filled out the answers without hesitation and carried out calculations swiftly.
When Peter finally finished penning the last word, he looked around and saw that few others were working on their questions. Even the girl who had seemed somewhat confident was now holding her pen, deep in thought.
After surveying the room, Peter buried his head again and meticulously reviewed his answers until he was confident there were no issues. He then asked the nearby supervising teacher, "May I submit my paper now?"
The teacher looked Peter over from head to toe again and said with a smile on his face, "You may submit your paper now."
After handing in his paper to the invigilating teacher, Peter walked towards the classroom door.
In the examination hall, Peter was the first person to submit his paper, and at that moment, everyone turned their heads to look at him.
Some who recognized Peter’s identity shook their heads, thinking that a migrant worker with his background couldn’t possibly understand such advanced knowledge. They figured he had most likely handed in a blank paper after realizing he couldn’t complete it.
When Peter left the classroom, he immediately saw the Group company leaders waiting outside.
The leaders also noticed Peter’s departure.
The Chairman, Tobia Armstrong, frowned slightly; he too suspected that Peter had merely submitted a blank paper.
Henry Ford also furrowed his brow, thinking to himself that Peter was too young and hadn’t considered the timing of his departure. It would have been better to wait until others had finished and then submit his paper, to avoid upsetting the leaders by being the first to step out.
"Peter, why did you submit your paper so early?" Chief Engineer asked.
"I finished it."
"What?" Everyone looked at Peter in astonishment. They wondered how he could have finished when even some of the most capable people in the company had not yet submitted their papers.
Tobia Armstrong then asked, "Did you find the exam difficult?"
"I don’t know about that. I just finished it all," Peter replied truthfully.
However, everybody sighed inwardly, suspecting that the young man had simply rushed through it haphazardly.
Seeing their expressions, Peter began to understand that being the first to submit might not have been the best choice. If he had known, he would have just sat there until time was up.
But the deed was done, and without dwelling on it further, Peter headed over to where some mineral water was prepared, took a bottle, and started to drink.
Everyone sat there chatting and waiting for the rest of the examinees to come out.
This situation made it clear to Peter that the company took the examination very seriously.
"Let’s hope there will be a few who get the certificate this time!" one Deputy General Manager remarked.
"I’m not sure what to expect. Let’s just hope they don’t all submit a blank paper!" someone commented, casting a glance at Peter sitting there.
Just then, a middle-aged man from the Chief Engineer’s office of the Group company came out.
Seeing him emerge, everyone’s eyes shifted to him.
