Chapter 1627: Chapter 1626: The Exam Questions Are Too Difficult
The middle-aged man named Samuel Nelson was in his forties with quite a few white hairs, and when he walked over, everyone went up to greet him.
"Nelson, how did it go?"
"Nelson, were the questions difficult?"
"Nelson, how did you do on the exam?"
Everyone eagerly asked him these questions, and Tobia Armstrong also looked at Samuel Nelson with concern.
After glancing at the people who were questioning him, Samuel Nelson said with a bitter face, "It was too hard, I didn’t expect the questions to be so difficult this time!"
"What?
When they heard him say it was too difficult, everyone’s face suddenly looked unhappy.
Tobia Armstrong frowned and said, "What’s going on, you think it’s difficult? I’ve seen you reviewing since the year before last."
Samuel Nelson laughed bitterly and said, "Mr. Armstrong, it was really tough, I feel like not many people will be able to answer correctly."
"They are also coming out." Someone noticed people walking out from the inside.
When Peter Brown looked at these people, he indeed saw that everyone’s faces seemed rather displeased.
A woman said with a bitter face, "Who set these damn questions, many of them went beyond the books, isn’t this trickery?"
"Exactly, this time it’s clear they are messing with us."
Listening to everyone’s comments and then looking at Tobia Armstrong, Peter Brown had a realization and felt that there was also a look of anger on Mr. Armstrong’s face.
Could it be that Tobia Armstrong had a dispute with someone and someone secretly played a trick this time?
Of course, this was just Peter’s guess, and he didn’t say anything more.
By this time, everyone who had taken the exam had come out, and they all gathered here to discuss.
The Chief Engineer looked at a young man and said, "Cameron, how did you do?"
Everyone’s attention then turned to this person called Cameron, who looked like a scholar with glasses on.
After hesitating a bit, this young man named Cameron said, "I’m not sure either, there were several questions I didn’t answer correctly, I’m not confident!"
"How about you, Harlow?" turning to another woman, the Chief Engineer asked again.
The woman was on the verge of tears, and with a crying voice, she said, "I didn’t do well, I feel like it’s hard even to pass."
When the leaders looked at others, they saw everyone had a troubled expression on their faces.
With a turn, Tobia Armstrong walked away.
Then some other leaders also left with somber faces.
Seeing the leaders leave, Peter Brown shook his head, stood up, and went over to his car.
Just as he was about to get in the car, Henry Ford called out to him.
Peter Brown went over and said, "Brother Montgomery."
"Never mind, since nobody did well, just keep reviewing. You know this certificate is very valuable in our company. Even if you lend the certificate to the company, you’ll still get a sum of money every month. Go back and study hard, put in the effort like when you studied three foreign languages."
Peter Brown opened his mouth, but still couldn’t utter the words that he was confident.
After Henry Ford left, Peter Brown sat in his car and waited for quite a while before he saw a few people who took the exam coming over.
Looking at them, Peter Brown asked, "How did you all do on the exam?"
Zora Grant said, "A good score would have been surprising!"
Elizabeth Jackson said, "The Upper Level have conflicts, and they are using us lower-level employees to settle scores. Now I’m curious to see how the company will reimburse us for our expenses!"
Peter Brown asked, puzzled, "What happened?"
"Don’t you know? Our company was set up this time."
This was indeed beyond Peter Brown’s expectations, so he looked at the several of them.
Seeing Peter Brown’s look, Zora Grant said, "Everyone’s been discussing it in private. Mr. Armstrong went to great lengths to get the Group a special session for the certification, anticipating that it would make it easier for everyone. However, because of a conflict between the leader he found and another one, we were sabotaged during the preparation of the examination paper. Many of the questions were out of scope, and the difficulty was significantly increased. So, our Group has exerted itself in vain this time; it’s unlikely anyone will receive the certificate."
Stacy Mills said, "That’s why I thought it was unusually difficult. There were big questions I couldn’t answer at all; I’ve failed this time."
Was it really that difficult?
Peter Brown drove while he wondered.
"Director Wang, how did you do?" Stacy Mills asked.
Scratching his head, Peter Brown really didn’t know what to say. He replied hesitantly, "I managed to do it, I guess?"
Everyone laughed, and Zora Grant said with a smile, "We heard that you handed in a blank paper and left early. After all, you only reviewed for a few days, even if you’re a genius, you couldn’t possibly have solved such difficult questions. It’s better to leave early than to endure that misery!"
"Director Wang, don’t worry about it. So many people didn’t do well, it’s not just us. We were ambushed this time. Didn’t you see how Mr. Armstrong left with a sullen face? I think, The Higher-Ups will be bickering for a while now, but it was all a waste of our efforts."
"No, since we’ve come to the provincial capital, we should find a nice place to have a good meal before leaving. Director Wang, I know a place, let’s eat and then go."
Peter Brown didn’t really mind and took them to the Hotpot restaurant mentioned by Zora Grant.
When they got there, after Stacy Mills and the others had made phone calls, additional personnel from the branch office had arrived.
Eleven people sat inside, and everyone was in a sour mood. As soon as the topic of the exam came up, they started complaining bitterly.
Peter Brown really didn’t know what to say. In his view, the exam paper wasn’t that difficult, but if he really said that, he would become the target of public criticism. He had no choice but to order vegetables and chat with everyone there.
As everyone voiced their thoughts, Peter Brown learned quite a bit about the internal affairs of the company.
"Do you think not a single person will get the certificate?" Peter Brown still asked.
"Director Wang, you’re really a layman when it comes to this. An architect’s qualification certificate isn’t easy to get. We’re talking about the Grade One architect exam, which involves registration upon passing. A registered architect is highly regarded, and these exams are always very difficult. It’s rare to receive the certificate, which is why the Group went to such lengths to organize a special session, aiming to make it easier for us to get one. But now, something happened, and it’s even harder to pass!"
The head of the engineering department sighed. He could only sigh about the exam this time.
Another person involved with technology said, "I think our company is probably facing another zero this time. It’s simply impossible for anyone to pass, these questions are too hard for just passing, let alone scoring high."
Stacy Mills said, "We’ll know in a few days. This was a special session and paper marking will be fast. I bet no one will receive the certificate except the Chief Engineer and the General Manager’s staff."
