Chapter 1623: Chapter 1622 Threat
"Sister, that kid still hasn’t made a move."
"You guys didn’t let him notice anything, did you?" The voice responding this time was that of Rylan Williams’s elder sister.
Upon hearing this voice, Peter Brown chuckled. He was only worried about someone changing their phone number and cell phone. Currently, not everyone had changed their cell phone, and the person who called Rylan’s sister was one of Rylan’s cousins, a very close one at that, and also an important member of the Carter Clan. It seemed that his cell phone and number had not been changed.
Without time to think further, Peter quickly started typing on his computer, and then he made a connection with the elder sister’s cell phone.
After doing this, Peter sat there and listened to their conversation.
The two didn’t talk for long before the call ended.
After that call, Rylan’s sister dialed another number.
This time, Peter heard Rylan’s voice coming through.
"Sister, that damn kid is really crafty. He’s been quiet in the hotel, and we couldn’t use our prepared tactics."
"Could he have suspected something from you guys?"
"Who knows, ideally he shouldn’t have, right? Dylan Johnson and I just set up a plan to test him and even offered him benefits—no one could have seen through that."
"Then just wait a bit longer, he has to come out eventually."
"Hmm, he thinks just because he’s great with computers, he’s something? In the face of power, everything else is insignificant. This time I’m going to show him that this pot is made of iron. He messed with me and then played dumb; this damn kid really thinks I, Rylan Williams, am a fool!"
"You’ve put drugs in his car; once caught, it will cost him his life. Don’t worry, all grudges will be avenged."
"Damn it, the more I think about it, the more frustrated I get, actually believing him and even thinking of him as a trusted follower!"
Listening to the conversation between the siblings, Peter couldn’t help but smile wryly. He really hadn’t expected the Carter siblings to be playing such games. It seemed that he shouldn’t underestimate anyone.
Previously, Peter had really thought the members of the Carter Clan were fools. Now, he was suddenly alarmed, realizing he had truly underestimated people.
What to do?
The task now before Peter was daunting, and he was very aware that if he didn’t handle this matter well, he might seriously end up being dealt with by the Carter People. The thought of possibly ending up in prison or being handled by them was something Peter absolutely didn’t want to face.
The two siblings were still monitoring, hoping to deal with him using the tactics they had planned.
He couldn’t just let them act as they wished; extreme measures were necessary to get through this ordeal.
Peter now was running out of time, he had to come up with something.
Fortunately, ever since he learned about the relationship between Rylan Williams and the Carter Clan, Peter had deliberately hacked the Carter People’s computers and obtained some information.
Since everything was out in the open now, might as well make it completely clear!
Initially, Peter didn’t want to take drastic actions, but now that the situation had arrived, he knew if he didn’t take decisive action, the other party dealing with him would be like child’s play—his struggle against the Carter Clan wasn’t on the same level at all.
So it’s time to play something they’re afraid of!
With that thought, Peter sent some things to Rylan’s email, then dialed Rylan’s number.
Rylan hadn’t expected Peter to call at this time.
As soon as the call connected, Peter pretended to be ignorant and said, "Rylan, I just received a call from someone. He sent some stuff to my email, asking me to forward it to you, saying that if you don’t stop your actions, the email will automatically spread across the network after a certain time, as it’s set up to do so. I’m not sure what it is, but I’ve sent it to your email. I’m just calling to ask you to check it out."
"What is it?" Rylan’s voice evidently contained a murderous tone.
"You’ll see when you look at it. He said he has many more tricks up his sleeve. If he’s done for, the Carter Clan will be finished too. I really do not know what he’s talking about."
After the call, Peter resumed his surveillance, wanting to understand the opponent’s thoughts as quickly as possible.
As expected, a while later, Peter heard Rylan using another cell phone to talk to his sister.
As soon as the call connected, Rylan anxiously said, "Sister, there’s trouble."
"What happened?"
"Sister, that damn kid managed to get hold of some dirt on our Carter Clan and sent those things to our email. I’ve sent the material to your email too, take a look."
Time ticked away, and after a while, Rylan’s sister exclaimed with a lost voice, "How did he get these things?"
"He’s a computer expert, I feel he’s very powerful. Taking advantage of our unpreparedness, he got some dirt on our family. If it gets out, the consequences will be severe!"
"It seems he also figured out what we’re doing!"
"Sister, what do we do now; should we just grab him immediately?"
"No, little brother, don’t be rash. You said yourself, he’s a computer expert. Since he dared to do this, he won’t be afraid of whatever methods we use. He’s just a farmer; we the Carter Clan can’t afford to fight this out."
"Then what do we do?" Rylan was just a young master, facing such complex matters, he really didn’t know what to do next.
"You said if it’s set up on his computer, will it automatically send out when the time comes?"
"It definitely will, it’s not difficult," Rylan said worriedly.
"Little brother, we have no way to handle him now; he really is just a scorned life!"
"Sister, do you mean we should let him go?"
"For now, that’s the only option. We can’t touch him now, not only that, but we also need to ensure his safety, to prevent any accidents. We need time to smooth over some things."
"This damn kid!"
Rylan cursed.
"Little brother, this matter has to be stopped here for now. Until our Carter Clan has smoothed everything over, we really can’t touch him no matter what. He called you saying it was someone else who informed him, although we know it was him, we still have to treat the situation as if someone else caused this trouble."
"Damn it, Sister, are we just going to let him off like this?"
"If not this, then what? Not only that, you should also act like you don’t know anything about the situation. Treat him the way you used to. Sigh, this kid is too cunning; you’re not his match. I’ll talk to the old man, you should leave that Group company and go elsewhere for now. Let’s calm him down and when there’s a chance, we’ll strike him with thunder."
