Chapter 1596: Chapter 1595: Trouble Again_1
Not long after Peter Brown got the house, news came down that the leadership team of the branch company was adjusted. Henry Ford was transferred to the headquarters as the Deputy Chief Engineer, and Vincent Clinton was reassigned to another project department as the Secretary. The entire team of the branch company was completely changed.
This caught everyone off guard and they were all dumbfounded after receiving the news.
However, Henry Ford’s mood wasn’t too bad. When he gathered his trusted followers and had some wine, he even patted Peter Brown on the shoulder and said, "You’ve got heart, you’ve got heart!"
When Peter heard Henry Ford’s words, he knew exactly what was meant. Henry Ford thought he had helped him, but Peter just pretended to smile with deep meaning.
After saying these things, Henry Ford looked at everyone and said, "Remember my words, fellows, Peter is a capable person. You all should support his work from now on."
In fact, many were somewhat aware of the situation, and when Henry Ford emphasized it, their looks toward Peter were filled with special meaning. Henry Ford was originally supposed to be rotated out of his position. Unexpectedly, he didn’t rotate out and instead became the Deputy Chief Engineer at headquarters, which was quite a turnaround.
"Edward, what should we do next?" one of the team leaders asked Henry Ford with some concern.
Henry Ford smiled and replied, "What do you mean what to do? I’m still at the headquarters, you can come to me if you have any issues."
With that, he added with a smile, "Peter is still the deputy director, everyone should be united."
The whole dinner had a certain air of dispersing tension, and there were no further activities planned. Everyone hastily scattered after the meal.
Sitting in Henry Ford’s car, Henry Ford said to the driver, "Joseph, I can’t take you to the headquarters for the time being. Keep in touch with Director Wang from now on."
Joseph Smith replied, "Understood."
Henry Ford turned to look at Peter Brown and said, "I had intended to mentor you for a while longer, but now it seems you’ll have to rely on yourself. The people coming in this time are said to have connections with leaders’ children from the province, these people are a bit arrogant. You should also be very careful."
Peter had no idea what sort of people would be arriving and could only nod.
After dropping Peter off at his residence, Henry Ford left.
Watching the car drive away, Peter felt puzzled, wondering why the Higher-Ups had made such a quick move with the team adjustment and what kind of situation would arise after it. Would it affect his own development?
Back at his place, Peter saw that Reid Nelson was already sitting in the office.
When he entered the office, Peter clearly saw a look of seriousness in Reid Nelson’s expression.
"Reid, what’s wrong?"
Peter poured himself a glass of water and sat down.
With a sigh, Reid Nelson said, "I’ve gathered some information. Do you want to know about the new leader that’s coming?"
"Please tell me, Reid."
"Peter, it’s a bit complicated this time. The one coming is a young master, the son of a certain department head. He originally held a position locally but due to some issues, he couldn’t stay there anymore and then maneuvered to join our Group. This guy’s background is not small and even reaches up to Kingston."
"Such a big background?" Peter was quite surprised.
Nodding emphatically, Reid Nelson said, "His name is Rylan Williams, thirty-two years old. The reason he’s been transferred to us is because of issues involving romantic relations that made it impossible for him to stay on the local scene. Even so, the Carter Clan isn’t a small family. Him serving as a manager here is just a way to lie low for a while."
"That’s good then. He’ll leave once he’s dodged the issue. That’s a good thing," Peter remarked.
Looking at Peter, Reid Nelson let out a wry smile and said, "Don’t you want to ask about his character or anything?"
Peter Brown just smiled.
Reid Nelson said, "Firstly, this guy is lecherous. As far as I know, no young and beautiful woman can escape his grasp. I’m worried that the same will happen here!"
Looking at Reid Nelson, Peter Brown thought if that kid really had such a character, not only would Reid be concerned, but Ivy Cooper would also be troubled.
"He has another temper, too. Since he returned from studying abroad, he looks down on domestic diplomas, and even more so on people without a degree. I heard he majored in something computer-related."
She said this while looking at Peter Brown.
Peter Brown said in surprise, "There are actually such people?"
"Peter, if that’s the case, he might change positions."
Now that the conversation had come to this, Peter Brown understood. Reid Nelson was worried about the young man’s lechery; for Peter, the concern might be about the young man disapproving of his serving as the deputy director of the Integrated Office, which could very well result in him being stripped of his official position.
Reid Nelson looked at Peter Brown again and said, "Although you have connections, from what I understand, he also has Kingston connections, which may be stronger than yours."
"Damn, with such strong connections, why would he come here to work?" Peter Brown was somewhat speechless.
"As I said, he’s just laying low. Once the heat dies down, he might return to his previous work. The key point is that although he won’t be here long, he poses a threat to everyone!"
Peter Brown looked at Reid Nelson, now understanding her intentions. This woman wanted to see if he could deal with this troublemaker.
But right now, he had no means to do such a thing.
Reid Nelson said, "In any case, we’re in the same trench now. I’ve told you his situation. We women can grit our teeth and get through anything not so serious, but you have a big problem. You’ve just become the deputy director, and if he sabotages you, things could get difficult."
After saying this, Reid Nelson got up and left.
Watching Reid Nelson walk away, Peter Brown sat there, deep in thought.
It was clear Reid Nelson was trying to awaken him, hoping someone behind him would make a move.
But Peter Brown knew his own situation; he simply didn’t have that kind of power.
He thought he could have a few peaceful days, but now someone like this had come. What should he do next?
Thinking about his purpose to gain experience, Peter Brown wasn’t too worried. After all, it wasn’t a bad thing for him; it would help his development.
Peter Brown even wondered why Tobia Armstrong had agreed to this person coming as a manager.
After some thought, Peter Brown had a feeling that the young man’s arrival might very well be a test stone used by the Group company’s leaders to test the strength of the connections behind him.
If he couldn’t pass this test, the probability of him continuing to work in this Group company would be very slim.
No matter what, he had to fight!
The more Peter Brown thought about it, the more he felt that if he couldn’t win this fight, the consequences would be severe.
But how could he achieve victory?
