Walking out from the villa alone, Peter pondered the matter as he walked.

It made no sense!

Peter was somewhat baffled. Henry Ford had Joseph Smith bring him over, which seemed like an intent to let him be part of his circle. However, just after playing Mahjong, he dismissed him indifferently and even told him to take the bus back. Hadn’t his attitude changed a bit too quickly?

Sitting on the bus, Peter recalled all the know-how about officialdom and office politics he had read, and then smacked his thigh.

By the time he returned to his dormitory, it was already past eight o’clock. He had thought of going out for some food, but then, an idea struck him. Giving Henry Ford some intelligence now could have a significant impact.

Looking out the window, Peter saw Christian Greenhill walking out of the office.

"Mr. Ford, there’s something I need to report to you," Peter said.

"Alright, wait a second," Ford replied.

Peter then heard the sound of Ford walking.

A short moment later, Ford said, "Go ahead."

"Mr. Ford, when I was coming back, I happened to see Mr. Graham going into the office. When I listened in for a bit, I heard him making a call, seemingly to Ivy Cooper. From what I gathered, it seems Ivy Cooper has a deep relationship with Mr. Spencer from the head office. This time, they plan to promote Mr. Graham, with Ivy Cooper taking over as the director of the Integrated Office and so on. I didn’t quite catch the details before he came out, but I thought I should report this to you," Peter explained.

Peter finished speaking and waited with a smile on his face for Henry Ford’s response.

In truth, Peter knew that Henry Ford was probably well aware of the plot by Christian Greenhill and Ivy Cooper against him. Anyway, he’d just mention this to Ford, who didn’t know how much Peter was aware of. As long as Ford believed that his indifferent attitude hadn’t shaken Peter’s loyalty, that was enough.

"Reid, why are you here?"

When he looked up, Peter saw Reid Nelson approaching from a distance; he had not expected Reid Nelson to come here.

"Peter, weren’t you going out for a dinner engagement?"

"Edward Ford and the others had something come up suddenly, so they let me come back first. I was actually thinking about calling you to see if you’ve had dinner yet."

Reid Nelson smiled and said, "I haven’t had dinner yet, actually. I was planning to take some documents home to review. If you haven’t eaten, we can go together; I’ll treat you."

Peter replied, "That’s a deal, this time you treat, and I’ll treat you once I get my salary."

Reid Nelson then headed to the office.

Standing there waiting, it didn’t take long for Peter to realize why Reid Nelson had come; it wasn’t to collect any documents. Today there was nothing particularly special going on, nor were there any crucial documents. Reid Nelson was feeling very insecure now, having heard that Henry Ford had summoned Peter, she didn’t know what might have transpired, and she wanted to see if he had returned to gather some information from him.

"Let’s go." After a moment, Reid Nelson came over, dressed in a light-colored, floral, strapless mini skirt, and she wasn’t even wearing stockings. The skirt only reached her knees, which fully showcased her long, fair, and slender legs. High heels further accentuated her figure, making her legs look irresistibly attractive.

Peter then realized that this woman must have changed into the skirt outfit after entering the office.

Carrying a small bag, Reid Nelson smiled at Peter, "It’s really hot today, isn’t it?"

"Yes, it is very hot!"

"Let’s go." Reid Nelson took the lead and started walking.

Following behind her, Peter couldn’t help but notice Reid Nelson’s graceful figure, her waist twisting as she moved, especially visible in the light were her long, beautiful legs unadorned by stockings, which made Peter’s heart race a bit.

This woman was doing it on purpose!

Peter realized that this woman now saw him as her ally. She wanted to get some intelligence from him today, and of course, it was very possible she wanted to win him over even further.

"What would you like to eat?" Reid Nelson asked with a smile.

"Reid, you know me; I’m not familiar with County Town."

"That’s fine; just follow me."

When they hailed a cab, Peter noticed that the middle-aged driver kept looking back at Reid Nelson through the rearview mirror.

As the car moved forward, both sat in the back. The fragrance emanating from Reid Nelson was overwhelming, and thinking about being next to such a glamorous woman, Peter thought she must be some sort of enchantress. Even though he had been with many women, faced with such a beauty, Peter still had some thoughts.
