STRIKER: Independent Beast Tamer
Chapter 303 - 303: Part 5: Wilderness training

Wilderness:

The Killer Mercenaries had entered the core area in search of Tier-4 and above corrupted beasts. They had encountered dangerous corrupted beasts, which had immediately put their lives in danger.

It was a mixed group of Tier-4 and Tier-5 Black Ground Snakes. These giant hidden snakes lived behind the massive natural mounds of hill rocks.

More than 50 snakes were entangled with each other. It was hard to count them. The mercenaries immediately regretted coming here, but they had no choice right now.

One of the mercenaries had the black hawk. He immediately summoned the black hawk outside and gave a similar command.

The smell of the banned drug still lingered.

Swoosh!

The black hawk lifeline beast immediately took flight. The black snakes smelled a crazy scent using their forked tongues, collecting the chemical cues, which immediately made them go crazy.

Swoosh!

One after another, the black snakes bolted out together in a zig-zag manner. They started chasing the black hawk.

The black hawk flew towards the destination at low speed upon receiving the order.

While the rest of the mercenaries were ready for confrontation, not all the black snakes left their territory to chase after the black hawk.

Some of them rushed towards the mercenaries to attack. The mercenaries were carrying the lingering smell of the banned drug around them.

Though it was small, the chemical cues were collected by the black snakes.

Meanwhile,

Jeremy Night continued his night shift. He was not ready to let down his guard and act leisurely. His actions were observed by Instructor Jacob, Ariel, and Elder Derek.

But none of them said anything. While monitoring, he was also thinking about his new organization. He didn't know how the environment in that place would be.

But he recalled Team Leader Gisela's words: the wilderness surrounding the 10th zone is even more dangerous than here.

Maybe he won't have this kind of time to keep watch at night in the future.

On the other hand, May Lindsey had already gone to sleep. Not only her, but the other department representatives did the same, including Victor Scott.

The other classmates were sleeping peacefully. Everyone had full trust in their department instructors and protectors.

Only Jeremy Night was awake among the first-year students. Daniel and Betsy were sleeping in his tent.

"What's wrong with this kid?" Derek asked.

He saw Jeremy Night was not sleeping at all.

"Maybe he is paranoid. While others are sleeping, he is too scared to sleep," the Attack Department instructor said with a sneer.

He recalled how he and Romeo Barrett had been humiliated. Now, looking at Jeremy Night, he couldn't help but make a comment.

"Right, he doesn't trust his own instructor," the Defense Department instructor said.

Hearing that, Jacob's eyes turned icy.

He said, "He is doing better than you all. The wilderness is not a place to rest."

The faces of the Attack and Defense Department instructors changed.

Before they could say something, Elder Derek said, "The first-year kid is more mature than you guys. Focus on the surroundings."

Elder Derek's stern words made them quiet. The middle-aged woman of the Elemental Department remained silent. She was the Department Instructor of the Elemental Department.

She knew Jeremy Night's real strength, capable of killing Tier-4 corrupted beasts. She felt the others were ignorant.

The Control Department instructor thought the same as well. If they hadn't watched the video evidence, they would have remained ignorant too.

The Training Ground instructor, Ariel Burt, was vigilant. She was carefully observing the surroundings, including the ground tremors and noises from the environment.

She was trying to differentiate whether they belonged to the corrupted beasts or not. Apart from the experienced mercenary teams, no one dared to spend the night time in the wilderness.

Only the experienced mercenary teams from the city possessed higher-tier beast tamers. They undertook a lot of risky missions in the core area.

Apart from them, even the city administration's beast tamers rarely explored the wilderness unless it was by the City Governor's orders.

There was a special team under the city administration tasked with the exploration of new territory in the wilderness.

So leaving such a few teams aside, the university group was doing this for the first time.

Elder Derek didn't want to take any risks. If higher-tier beasts had chosen to follow them earlier, it could have caused havoc and confusion.

But he knew being here was not without dangers. As long as they could pass the night, the threat would be reduced.

The other department instructors stayed silent. They could understand the tensions between the STRIKER Department and the Attack and Defense Department.

But what about the Elemental and Control Departments? They thought the Department Instructors of the two would target the kid and Jacob Henry.

Yet, they had remained silent from the beginning, as if they didn't want to confront the STRIKER Department.

Elder Derek sighed inwardly. He was quite nervous about their situation. So far, they hadn't faced serious threats, but he knew the real danger came at night.

Instead of staying active and vigilant, the department instructors' words disappointed him.

The other protectors were keeping watch as well.

About 20 minutes later,

The black hawk approached a giant shaded tree. It started to circle above the giant shaded tree.

Jeremy Night saw this scene and immediately felt alarmed. Last time, the wild green-eyed cats had come out of nowhere to attack them.

This time, the black hawk appeared again in the nighttime. He wondered whether it had brought another group of corrupted beasts.

If his assumption were true, then some conspiracy was going on. The black hawk belonged to a beast tamer, and probably someone or some people were targeting the university students.

His back went cold thinking about it. He then continued to use his ability to monitor the hawk. He hadn't expected his eyesight and abilities to work well at night as well.

The unknown egg lifeline beast had granted him some incredible ability. He was grateful for it. Otherwise, he would be clueless like others at this moment.
