Chapter 3592: Overwhelming Power
Chapter 3592: Overwhelming Power
Looking down at Old Salamander on the ground, the Origin Progenitor sighed. "If I had possessed half of his cunning back then, things wouldn’t have turned out as they did."
Chu Yi rolled his eyes. "Master, if you had just a third of his cunning, Yong Heng wouldn't have been able to stir up any trouble."
Wilderness God nodded in agreement.
The Origin Progenitor was speechless. "Give me some face."
Everyone down on the ground waited for Emperor Wu to speak. Old Salamander claimed that Emperor Wu was collaborating with the Tianyuan Megaverse in order to kill the High Seraph. This was a massive scandal, and if the accusation was verified, Emperor Wu would find it difficult to endure.
The Tianyuan Megaverse was an enemy. The Ascendant Hall and the High Seraph both had reasons for their existence, and Emperor Wu also belonged to the Spirit Nidus. If he had cooperated with the Tianyuan Megaverse, he would be considered a traitor.
It was a completely different concept.
Emperor Wu turned to face Old Salamander. "I intend to kill the High Seraph?"
Old Salamander stared intently at Emperor Wu.
"That’s true," Emperor Wu admitted.
Old Salamander's expression changed. He had made the accusation in order to confuse people, so why was Emperor Wu actually admitting to it?
No one had expected Emperor Wu to admit his guilt so readily. His bluntness was surreal.
Lu Yin arched a brow. Does he really want to kill the High Seraph?
Emperor Wu's aura suppressed the entire Primal Beastland, and it even caused the sky to change color. "If I attempt to kill the High Seraph, I will do so in a fair duel, not by collaborating with others. Schemes like yours can never help one rise to become a Seraph."
Old Salamander opened his mouth to speak, only to be cut off by Lu Yin. "You concoct imaginary tales that others believe, old man. However, Emperor Wu has already confirmed that you are the culprit. What’s more important right now?"
Old Salamander's eyes narrowed. Wariness could be seen on his face.
Emperor Wu's pressure covered the entire Primal Beastland. Even if Old Salamander succeeded in making everyone believe that he was cooperating with the Tianyuan Megaverse to kill the High Seraph, what of it? Even if Emperor Wu was a traitor, the consequences would only be revealed in the future. At the present, Old Salamander had made the accusations in order to paint Emperor Wu as the one behind everything that had happened.
Before, Emperor Wu might have held certain doubts, but with this, he had become sure. Why else would Old Salamander fabricate lies?
Given different positions, perspectives would change. Old Salamander had been scheming against Emperor Wu in order to take the title of Seraph. However, Old Salamander had not yet become a Seraph. He lacked the domineering behavior of Emperor Wu and Lu Yin. It was something that allowed them to stand above all others.
For such people, explanations were not important. Knowing the identity of their enemy and their location was more than enough.
So long as Emperor Wu became certain, Lu Yin's goal would be accomplished. This was an unspoken understanding between the two Seraphs.
Without hesitation, Emperor Wu's towering figure started to stomp towards Old Salamander.
Yi Die and Jiu Weihu quickly fell back.
Emperor Wu's overwhelming aura made it so no one dared to confront him at this moment, and it was clear that his target was Old Salamander.
Old Salamander shouted, "The Primal Beastland stands united against all outsiders! Lì, you are helping outsiders fight against your own people! You are unworthy of being called Emperor Wu! You don’t deserve to lead the beast-form Spirit Rebirths!"
Emperor Wu’s foot fell again. The earth shattered, and the entire Primal Beastland trembled once more.
From underground, powerful auras locked onto Old Salamander. It was clear that everyone was prepared to attack at any moment.
"Whoever dares to touch the Primal Beastland today will die! If you wish to become a Seraph, then come out and fight! If you win, you will become the next Emperor Wu!"
Old Salamander never stopped retreating. In front of him, a sharp set of claws shot up. Man Kui had chosen this moment to attack Emperor Wu.
Lu Yin found the entire charade amusing. He understood why Man Kui had appeared at the perfect moment, interrupting Lu Yin the moment he had isolated Old Salamander’s people; Man Kui was cooperating with Old Salamander.
The old monster was quite thorough with his plans, and the sharpness of his words matched his own strength. If not for encountering someone like Emperor Wu or Lu Yin, neither of whom needed to follow logic or reason, anyone who tried to argue with Old Salamander would end up trapped.
Unfortunately, he had chosen the wrong opponent.
"Stay focused on the old guy. Don’t let him escape," Lu Yin ordered the elites aboard Boundless. He believed that there was no chance that Old Salamander had run out of tricks. Such a person had to have a plan in case of failure. Even if that failure was only a one-in-ten-thousand chance, Old Salamander would leave himself a way out. For example, Little Salamander, who was not even in the Primal Beastland at the moment. The Little Salamander that people were seeing was an imposter.
Boom!
Man Kui and Emperor Wu, both of whom were towering behemoths, collided on the Primal Beastland.
The resulting shockwave ripped through the region, pressing down on countless cultivators and leaving them incapable of raising their heads. None of them were even willing to peek.
Emperor Wu had grasped Man Kui’s sharp claws in a tight grip. Man Kui had six claws, two of which had been caught. As for the other four, Man Kui continued to attack Emperor Wu.
There were two sharp cracks, and Man Kui's claws were abruptly ripped off, spraying green blood all across the ground. Emperor Wu, his strength without equal, quickly ripped all six of Man Kui’s claws out. He howled in agony as he charged at Emperor Wu again. Man Kui’s physical strength pressed against the limits of the megaverse, and as he charged, peculiar seals that looked like wheels continued to flash around him, surrounding both himself and Emperor Wu.
Man Kui’s head stabbed into Emperor Wu, and Man Kui disappeared within the seals.
Emperor Wu punched at the seals. They shook, but they did not shatter.
Man Kui returned, his six arms having regrown. He interlocked them in a strange stance and shouted, "Six Wheel Death—total silence. Perish!"
The seals suddenly turned crimson as they all shot into Emperor Wu’s body. After that, they scattered, moving like giant serpents as they slithered about within Emperor Wu’s body in a terrifying manner.
Lu Yin’s eyes sharpened. This was a truly insidious battle technique. It allowed Man Kui to transfer his power into his opponent’s body and then release it from within. The scattered seals acted as extensions of himself, essentially serving as avatars. This technique created projections of Man Kui through battle techniques, making it difficult for even Emperor Wu to immediately break free.
An avatar was not necessarily a physical manifestation—it could also take the form of a battle technique.
This was similar to how Lu Yin had unleashed the Nine Heavens using his consciousness, achieving the same effect in a different way.
Lu Yin never believed that his talent was unprecedented, nor did he believe himself to be the most intelligent person throughout history. Anything that he could think of, someone had likely conceived before, and someone else would likely come up with it again in the future.
However, it was unexpected to see a method that he had thought about for so long appear before him through another creature so quickly.
Man Kui deserved to be a Dukkhan. The countless years he had lived for had not been in vain.
Emperor Wu’s defense was invincible. When he attacked with his serrated blade, it was a soft attack, though his defenses were hard. In contrast, Man Kui’s seals were a soft attack.
The only way to break through the hardest defense was with the softest attack.
Emperor Wu bent his legs and pressed his right hand onto the ground. He looked up at Man Kui. "Have you been playing dead all these years just to develop this technique to deal with me?"
Man Kui smiled broadly. "You could say that. By defeating you, I’ll become the lord of the Primal Beastland, and that will qualify me to become a Seraph. After all, the beast-form Spirit Rebirths must be represented by a Seraph."
Lu Yin’s voice rang out. "You think that Old Salamander created so many plans to topple Emperor Wu just for you?"
Man Kui glanced over. "I’ve remained hidden for many years, and the world has clearly changed. Now, even Tianyuan cultivators have been allowed to enter my Spirit Nidus. How ridiculous! As soon as I defeat Lì, you’ll be next."
Lu Yin laughed.
Aboard Boundless, the Origin Progenitor joined in.
Wilderness God, Chu Yi, Sovereign Dou Sheng, and everyone else on the battleship also laughed.
It was clear that they were all greatly amused by Man Kui’s threat.
Across the Primal Beastland, countless beast-form Spirit Rebirths were taken aback, and the spectators in outer space watched in silence.
Lu Yin was not Emperor Wu. He was someone whom even Emperor Wu was not confident he could defeat. That was why Emperor Wu had been left with no choice but to delay his battle with Lu Yin until after the Day of Offering.
Man Kui had spent many years developing a technique to defeat Emperor Wu, but he could not have spent that much time preparing to defeat Lu Yin. In particular, everyone knew that Seraph Lu had no known weaknesses.
His physical strength, battle techniques, spiritual force, consciousness, and every other aspect that he had cultivated had all reached such a terrifying level that people trembled at the thought. What was even more frightening was his mastery of the power of time.
Such a person could only be fought by someone like Emperor Wu, who possessed unbreachable defenses. Without that sort of advantage, one needed the strength of the High Seraph to defeat Lu Yin.
Even if Man Kui was able to defeat Emperor Wu, his chances of defeating Lu Yin were remote.
Besides that, Man Kui had not even managed to defeat Emperor Wu yet.
A smile spread across Emperor Wu's lips. "A long time ago, you mentioned that we were very similar, calling us the same type."
Man Kui looked back at Emperor Wu. "Exactly. Since you were able to become Emperor Wu, I can do the same, so long as I defeat you."
Emperor Wu slowly stood back up. He allowed the power of the seals to spread throughout his body, enduring the resulting pain. "You’re wrong. I think far more than you. You’ve been played by that old man. Idiot."
As Emperor Wu spoke, he stabbed his hand into his body. Countless onlookers trembled as they watched him rip his own body open, grab hold of the scattered power of the seals, and then shatter them. He tore his body open again and again, each time ripping out the snake-like power of the shattered seals. Despite bleeding profusely from all parts of his body, Emperor Wu’s expression never changed, even as his blood flooded the earth below.
Man Kui’s scalp tingled as he watched this scene. He had spent years creating a soft attack like Emperor Wu’s own serrated blade. In fact, that blade had served as Man Kui’s inspiration for this battle technique. He had once been easily defeated by that weapon.
He had never expected Emperor Wu to be ruthless enough to destroy his own body.
A savage expression appeared on Man Kui’s face, and more round seals appeared around Emperor Wu. "Destroy your own body! Show me how many times you can repeat this!"
Emperor Wu stood proudly, his expression cold. As people watched, they saw his wounded body heal, returning to its normal black color. He then raised a hand and punched forward.
The round seals, which had previously survived Emperor Wu's attack, shattered from just one punch this time.
Man Kui spat out a mouthful of blood. He was not capable of using his battle technique freely. The second usage resulted in seals that were much weaker than the first time, while Emperor Wu's strength had risen significantly.
Man Kui stared at Emperor Wu in a daze. "Your strength?"
Emperor Wu took a step forward as his hand rose up and grabbed Man Kui.
The beast’s neck was seized, and he was casually lifted up. "What do you think you are? You spent so many years just to find a way to attack me? I don’t even need to think about how to deal with you. My strength surpasses your understanding. You’re nothing but trash."
Boom.
Emperor Wu slammed Man Kui to the ground, cracking his skull. Man Kui coughed up blood, but Emperor Wu raised a foot again and stomped it down, crushing his opponent. The foot stomped down again and again, shaking the Primal Beastland. Beneath Emperor Wu’s feet, a green liquid spread out and created a lake.
Man Kui was a massive beast-form Spirit Rebirth, a powerful Dukkhan, and yet he was ruthlessly crushed by Emperor Wu. The process was brutal and oppressive. This was the way of the beast-form Spirit Rebirths. This was Emperor Wu.
Everyone fell silent and just watched.
On Boundless, Wilderness God’s expression turned grave. Emperor Wu had been holding back against Wilderness God, and that was because of Lu Yin. Without that hesitation, Wilderness God would have been killed too quickly to even have a chance to break through.
He was seeing the vast gap that remained between him and Emperor Wu.
Astral Anura gasped, sucking in a sharp breath. This was too cruel and too terrifying. Just watching was bad for the toad’s health. He swore to never antagonize such a monster again. Just seeing Man Kui’s defeat caused Astral Anura to shiver.
Man Kui’s defense, strength, and battle techniques had all been worthy of a Dukkhan. His round seals had wounded Emperor Wu, which meant that they would kill any ordinary Dukkhan, such as Mr. Li. However, Emperor Wu had simply crushed the seals.
Such strength was utterly overwhelming
