Stand By Me Darling
Chapter 91: Identity Revealed

Chapter 91: Identity Revealed

Even after she called him five times, he didn’t pick up her call and even blacklisted her in the end making her fume in anger.

It is true that she has done something unforgivable to the Lockhart family, but can’t he at least talk to her for a minute? For old times sake?

Talia stomped outside to use Mrs. Jackson’s phone to call Cyril once more and as soon as she opened the door she got scared the living daylights out of her.

Two men were wearing black suits, carrying weapons and standing by her door.

"Your Highness," both of them gave a bow to her and at one look Talia could understand that both of them are her bodyguards appointed for her security.

’There goes all the freedom I had!’

She sighed and closed her door and stood in front of them. The little freedom she had, living her own life is all gone now thanks to some freak who wanted her dead.

"Call Cyril!" she ordered.

Since they want to treat her as their Princess, they won’t mind her acting like one, right?

"Your Highness, we have no contact with Cyril Lockhart," the man to her left said.

All Talia could do was press her lips together. She wanted to roll her eyes hard but she knew that won’t garner these men’s respect and so she stared back without saying anything.

The well-built man with the coiled-tube plastic earpiece that indicated his position as the security, looked at her with his brown eyes not wavering at her.

It seemed like he was saying that what he said is the truth and there is no way around it. But Talia knew for sure they should have contact with Lion heart Security Firm and know their CEO.

’Heh! Going for a staring contest are we?’ Talia snorted in her heart. ’Let’s see who wins!’

Talia stared at him for a while and felt her eyes sting out of dryness and so she concentrated at the other guy.

But she really couldn’t win those guys. She wondered if those two are humans or some robots with cameras for eyes.

Won’t humans need to blink?

"Your Highness, we are the Kingsguard. We cannot be deterred from our duties," one on the left said politely.

"Mr. ED!" Talia raised her voice but in the end remembered to act polite and so she spoke politely. "I’m going to lock my door and going to kill myself if you don’t make the call! I dare which one of you has the guts to open the door! "

Talia, embarrassed that she lost the staring contest, decided to use another of her tactics. Her eyes blinked and a layer of moist formed on her eyes on cue.

"Your Highness, My name is not Ed and we have orders given to break your door if necessary. And..." he leaned closer to her, "I raise teenagers at home and I spent most of my life running security for Prince Lambert. Your little tantrums won’t work on me," he still spoke politely and stood straight with his face stiff.

"Hmpf!" Talia couldn’t help but pout. How can she be compared to teenagers? She is twenty six years old. And she knew she really cannot beat Lambert’s bodyguard if what he says is true.

Lambert was the hard to contain rebel the Palace has seen in centuries as she was told. If this guy handled that guy, she cannot win against him.

No one can throw tantrums better than Lambert!

But seeing the little smirk on Mr. Ed’s face, Talia couldn’t bear it. If he was a security arranged by her grandfather, they’d have listened to her. These Palace guards are the worst! All they know is to say: No!

But she is Talia Brunton! She never loses! These Kingsguards won till then because they never met her.

Talia pressed her lips together and raised the corners of her lips lightly, "But what if I lock the bathroom?"

"Your Highness!" the guard widened his eyes and his face paled slightly but he tried to hide it.

They cannot enter the bathroom. What if she pretends to take her life and then just stands there with her clothes off and then accuses them of invading her privacy or something worse? Their life will be ruined! Or taken! It would be fine if she is some woman. But she is the most precious Princess of their Kingdom. What she says goes.

"Fine then. Have it your way," Talia knowing she won, pretended to be accepting what they said and walked inside her house and opened the bathroom door all in front of them.

"I’ll be there... For a while... Doing whatever..." she said vaguely making those two bodyguards go entirely pale.

"Your Highness, the call connected," one of the guards gave up first.

’Women are crazy! Men’s lives aren’t safe anymore! And this Princess is worse than the Prince! Can’t everyone be good like how Prince, no! King Louis was?’ he grumbled in his heart.

Talia wanted to smile victoriously but she held back to act like the pompous cat she is and got the phone from the guard’ s hand.

"Thank you, Mr. Eddy," she said knowing his name is not Eddy. Who asked them to stand by her door and scare her?

"Talia closed the door and walked to the couch.

" What’s the matter? "

That familiar voice made her shudder for a moment. This is the reason she never called Cyril till then. Those brothers had the same voice.

Hearing Cyril’s voice made Talia feel like Cyrus was talking to her from hell.

"Is that you?"

The voice spoke again as Talia couldn’t speak a word.

"I have nothing to say to you. Don’t call me..."

"I want to meet her," Talia knew he will end the call and so she gathered her courage and spoke.

There was dead silence on the other end and Talia feared the line will go dead and so she continued,

" MistyFlower, Measoles... Or whoever she is..."

Talia took a deep breath expecting a reply but there was only silence.

"Or... His child’s mother?"

Talia was doubtful of this. The first day she met MistyFlower, she thought she might have a child. And today she used that child who had the same eyes as Cyrus to use as a distraction to hack her phone.

"You have nothing to speak to her!" the voice from the other end was cold.

Talia was weirded out by the coldness in the voice so similar to Cyrus’. Cyrus never was cold with her. Even when he was dying, he was gentle with her..

That man... That man she killed.

*Ding*

Talia heard the little noise from her laptop and she sat on the couch. She had ran an search to possibly find the IP address of the one who hacked her and possibly their address.

She thought it would take a lot of time and the algorithm she created to track someone isn’t that great and won’t break much firewalls unless handled manually but who knew she could find it this soon.

Probably the one on the other end is not even trying to hide their identity anymore?

"Ms. Langdon, is she?" Talia asked and she could hear the slight scoff from the other end.

"Langdon... Now why do I know that name?" Talia thought out loud fearing Cyril will end the call.

As she remembered she felt her scalp go numb.

"Ah... That Langdon from the news before... Lydia Langdon... That foreign exchange student killed in Esteria. Later found to be killed by Raymond Sinclair... Is this Ms. Langdon related to her? "

Talia didn’t know that there would be such connections.

" Wait... Got her address... 242, Ranch Avenue..."

" She is one of his women and no! You cannot meet her! " the voice from the other end was angry now.

" Camellia? Her name is Camellia? " Talia really was shocked.

"What do you know?" Cyril was intrigued by this sudden change in the tone of her voice.

"You... Don’t know?" Talia really was surprised. "This woman cannot be one of the many women Cyrus knew," she said and she patted her chest that was beating erratically.

"This woman... Cyrus loved her!"
