Chapter 434: Vivian’s Wedding (2)
Talia was at the aisle side and Vivian walked right past her and Talia couldn’t help but say, "Vivian! You’re so pretty. Cyril’s going to faint"
Vivian turned at Talia with a smile, and gave a little wink, and walked to the front. Cyril turned and look at Vivian and he had the brightest smile Talia had ever seen on him. His smile matched the radiance of his brother’s.
"She’s not covering her face. You don’t have to either."
Arthur whispered in Talia’s ear and Talia had already become selectively mute to Arthur as she wanted to watch the wedding ceremony.
Talia watched the ceremony keenly and Arthur didn’t know what to do with his handkerchief that was drenched with her tears and snot.
Seriously! Who cries this much at a wedding? Why am I the only one who is bored?
He turned around to see Archibald wrapping his arm around Marcella as she was sobbing. Jordan’s hands were red by the force Lady Gina was holding them. Emily was wiping the corner of her eyes and even Elizabeth’s eyes were red.
Arthur sat up straight clearing his throat.
I guess, everyone! Is this one of those ’only girls will understand’ things?
The wedding was a success and he was stunned to see his Iris in a competitive spirit to catch the bouquet. The other women also stretched and got in high spirits to get that bouquet. Arthur has seen Talia competitive only on rare occasions and he was surprised she’d get this competitive for a used bouquet.
"I’ll get you a new one. You don’t have to fight for this-"
Even before he finished his sentence, he was met with her glare. He still couldn’t understand why his good intentions are repaid by her animosity.
"Shall I help you get it?" he persisted, even though she acted ungratefully.
"Will you get away from me? Go stay with other men and stop bother-"
As she was pushing him away, the bouquet was tossed and Arthur saw Lady Gina jumping high to catch the bouquet and she tumbled on the floor as she couldn’t land rightly. But still, she got up with a bright smile and her eyes ended up at Jordan while everyone howled at him.
"You’re next!"
Arthur caught the words of one of them shouting and only then realised that bouquet tossing is a ceremony with meaning.
So Iris wanted to catch the bouquet because it is believed that the one who caught the bouquet will be the next to carry a bridal bouquet... I didn’t purposefully ruin it...
Arthur turned to look at her and his heart slipped and fell to his guts seeing her reddened eyes.
"Iris I-"
"I’ve to pee," she said bluntly and he followed her as she locked herself in the bathroom.
Talia went into the restroom and looked at herself in the mirror and she felt ashamed of herself for crying for a simple reason. She had attended weddings before but it never felt the same because she was always reminded of the wedding she didn’t want that happened when she was sixteen.
But this time, with her planning for her wedding, she found herself more excited. She remembered Arthur’s hurt face and she felt more hurt for him.
Ah, Talia... Don’t get upset about little things. You don’t want to turn to a bridezilla as Rebecca turned to. You’re a Princess, not a teenager! Act like one!
She composed herself and fixed her makeup.
He didn’t realize weddings would be a very tricky place. He had always found weddings to be boring and uneventful. Apart from his brother’s wedding, which he spent most of the time daydreaming, he had never attended any weddings and he now felt terrible.
"It was fun to watch you ruin her day," Roderick stood beside him and laughed holding his abdomen.
"Well, gee! Thank you for your help then, big brother!" Arthur kicked his brother in the leg.
He could’ve pulled me aside if he knew what I was doing! What a terrible brother I have!
"This is for laughing at me on my wedding day." Roderick even after Arthur’s hit couldn’t hold back his laughter.
"Haha... that was funny to watch. I didn’t see Cyril weeping like a toddler today. Did you?"Arthur mocked him.
"Well, I’ll see how you hold up on your wedding day, shrimp!" Roderick held the back of Arthur’s head and kicked him in the stomach using his knee.
"Aww! Brothers unite!"
Archibald saw the two brothers tussling and pulled in his brother for a tussle. Soon the gang became big and it became loud and cheery.
When Talia got out, she was surprised to see the ruckus outside with everyone fighting each other. Even the adults were enjoying the fight and were cheering on for their favorites.
Does this happen at weddings? It looks more like a frat party than a formal wedding. Whatever!
Talia didn’t mind what they do to have fun at a wedding and she wanted to get to Vivian to congratulate her. But she was not given way. In that ruckus, she couldn’t even find Arthur.
*Clap*
She clapped once and like Moses parted the Red sea, the crowd parted leaving her way.
"Please, Your Royal Highness..."
Archibald Wallace gave a bow and showed her the way and Talia with a chuckle walked past them.
"I didn’t think it would get this fun," Vivian was not at all worried about the commotion. "I’m glad everyone’s having a fun time at my wedding. You can join too, Cyril."
Vivian nudged him, but he refused. "No thanks."
As the men got rowdy, the women started gossiping as the photoshoot took place.
Talia met with Thomas after a long time and this time looking at his eyes, made her feel delighted. She used to feel guilty whenever she looked at those blue eyes similar to Cyrus’ but now she didn’t feel any guilt and she was happy to see him.
"How is your little sister?" she asked and Thomas smiled brightly.
"She’s small and so my mum couldn’t attend the wedding. But I showed her everything Live."
"You’re a good boy. " she patted his back. "Do you know who I am?"
"I do. My mum told me." Thomas looked at Talia with pride. "You are Princess Talia - the one person who knew my father the best and loved him. My father loved you a lot too."
Talia felt her words stuck in her throat.
"You’re right. Your father left his locket with me and asked me to look after you. When you grow up responsibly, I’ll give it to you. Okay?" she held the boy’s hand and he nodded enthusiastically.
Although he looked mature for his age, he still had a childishness in him too. She had a feeling he’d grow up amazingly.
She was really glad she gets to attend the wedding.
