Chapter 170: Finally, a break!

Everyone watched in shock and awe as Damon repeatedly struck a single spot with back-to-back powerful finisher attacks. A single attack like this should technically drain his energy reserves, and yet he was attacking monstrosously at the same point with relentless ferocity.

Each strike carried the weight of a boss-killing blow, blazing crimson lances of condensed bloodfire. Sparks exploded with every impact, followed by strange pulses that resonated through the metallic chamber.

Nevin stumbled back, shielding his face from the heat and raw pressure. "This is insane. He’s not even slowing down."

"How is he still standing?" Meira breathed out, voice trembling. "He should’ve collapsed by now."

But Damon wasn’t collapsing. He wasn’t slowing. In fact, he was speeding up. His eyes burned like twin embers of fury as he struck the same spot with as much power as he could muster.

Aurora watched in a daze, unable to look away from the person dazzling her. She silently mumbled, casting a few recovery buffs on him.

Meira had a similar expression on her face. The fire goddess with the attitude was fully tamed. She licked her lips, enticed by the display of unimaginable power.

Sylvara wasn’t all that different. She, too, watched Damon with a glint of something in her eyes, her lips parted.

Only Kate had a weird look on her face. First, she wasn’t all that worried about the situation, unlike the others. She had unshakeable faith in Damon’s skills and knew he would get them out of this mess one way or the other.

But what the heck was the look on all of these women’s faces?

Her heart rate quickened nervously. Every single woman in the room was staring at Damon as if they were wolves wanting to swallow the sheep!

Suddenly, on the tenth strike, there was a distinct crack. Damon grinned savagely. "Almost there. Mark get your ass over here."

Mark did not have to be told twice. The two of them together started attacking the exact spot on the wall, and the next second, a different explosion rang out loudly. The metallic wall itself rippled. A tide of smaller chips appeared and disappeared, the space quickly repairing itself.

"Hell no, you don’t." Damon hurriedly attacked the same spot. "What are you all looking at? Throw in your best attacks!" His voice rang loudly in the small enclosed area. He summoned Elina, the lava snake, for extra support. The entire place became extremely noisy and chaotic.

The sheer amount of attacks in the enclosed space made everyone’s orifices bleed from the pressure.

Aurora clutched her ears, grimacing as blood trickled down her nose. Meira gritted her teeth, conjuring a protective barrier of flame to keep herself steady, while Sylvara used her ice aura to cushion the shockwaves.

Nevin was already on his knees, vomiting from the overload of mana distortion in the air, and even Kate flinched, shielding herself with a blood shield.

Only Damon stood at the center of the chaos, unaffected, eyes wild, body radiating heat and fury.

The chamber trembled under their combined wrath. And yet, the wall kept trying to heal, pushing back with that eerie ripple, like a living membrane, rejecting every intrusion. Finally, a hole big enough was made, and Damon gave the signal.

"It’s not going to become better than this. Everyone, get out while you can. I can hold it back for 5 seconds. That’s all."

Damon looked at Kate, and she understood him. Without any hesitation, she used the best speed she could and jumped through the hole. Mark followed her immediately. Unexpectedly, Damon signaled Sylvara to make a move next.

The Ice Queen was slightly shocked, but she did not argue. She had too many responsibilities to be stuck here in the middle of nowhere. After she went, Damon tossed in another powerful attack, but the next second, he did not wait for anyone else.

Glancing at Aurora to make sure she didn’t attack his back while he was vulnerable, he instantly shot through the hole. The priestess, on the other hand, started blushing from the unexpected attention, which only made Meira fume.

"Aurora! Can you stop acting like a blithering fool already?!! What is wrong with you?" Meira directly dragged her lovesick friend and went through the hole. In the end, Nevin only barely made it when the wall completely closed itself once again.

The poor guy’s scalp went numb at the thought of getting trapped in there alone. He was pretty sure no one was going to stage some sort of big rescue operation for him. Luckily, he made it.

However, the next second, he saw that he wasn’t all that lucky as a terrifying scene was unfolding in front of him. Dozens and dozens of 5-foot-tall metallic golems had assembled in front of them, each of them blaring loudly with a warning siren and a flashing red light.

"Intruders detected! Intruders detected! Commence Erradication protocol! Intruders detected!"

Damon landed in a crouch, spinning around just in time to see the wall seal shut behind Nevin with a hiss of superheated air. He didn’t have even a moment to exhale before the red lights flared and the room was filled with mechanical howls.

The golems’ eyes glowed like twin suns, their heavy footsteps syncing into a pounding rhythm that shook the metallic ground. Spiked arms, sawblade limbs, arc cannons, each construct seemed designed with a single purpose: to annihilate.

"Well," Damon muttered, cracking his neck, "time to get to work! What are you all standing for? Start attacking the little fuckers!"

Damon slammed his fist into one, blood energy wrapped around his hands. His one hit sent the golem flying, shattering the robot’s body into many scraps. It looked like these robots were not as sturdy as the main wall itself.

Everyone saw this and got to work busily. Meira took down two of the golems in a single shot of condensed explosion. Mark punched through a row of golems and malfunctioned five at the same time.

The entire group started taking out all of their frustrations from being locked up onto the group of assembled robot golems, turning them into minced metal in no time.
