Sins Of Her Venom
Chapter 106: A Serial Killer

Chapter 106: A Serial Killer

- Glyndon Walton: ( Song of the Chapter: Infected by Sickick)

After the parents went to bed, the rest of us stayed behind in the living room. The tension from earlier had finally eased, and for the first time all night, things felt... normal. Or, at least, as normal as they could be, given the circumstances.

Nancy, of course, was the one to break the comfortable silence. She sat forward, her eyes practically glowing with excitement as she grinned at all of us.

"Well, since we’re all couples now—" she made a dramatic gesture around the room, "how about we tell everyone how we got together?"

I blinked at her. Was she serious?

Alex groaned immediately. "Oh my god. What is this, a middle school sleepover?"

Nancy scowled at him. "Oh, come on! It’ll be fun!"

Malakai, who had been lazily lounging next to Alex, smirked and nudged him. "Yeah, Alex. Let’s hear it. Why don’t you go first?"

Alex huffed like this was some huge burden, but even I could tell he didn’t mind. He stretched his arms behind his head and then slumped back into the couch.

"Fine," he said, shooting Malakai a sideways glance before looking at the rest of us. "It’s not that dramatic. When I started visiting colleges, trying to figure out where the hell I wanted to go after graduation, I met Malakai. He offered to give me a tour, and at first, it was just a friendship. Nothing serious."

Malakai snorted. "Nothing serious? Dude, you latched onto me like a lost puppy."

Alex jerked his head toward him. "I did not."

Malakai just raised a brow. "Really? Who was the one texting me every single day? ’Hey, you wanna grab food? Hey, wanna study together? Hey, I think I’m lost, can you help me find the library?’"

Alex’s face turned a little pink. "That’s because I was lost."

Malakai grinned. "Sure, sure."

Alex cleared his throat and pointedly ignored him. "Anyway. We started hanging out more, and things just... happened, I guess. One day, he kissed me. And, uh... yeah, the rest is history."

Nancy sighed dramatically like she had just watched the most romantic movie ever. "That’s so cute."

Alex rolled his eyes. "Alright, your turn, Nancy. Since you’re so excited about this."

Nancy immediately straightened up. "Oh! Okay. So, I had a huge secret crush on Nicholas for years."

Nicholas, who had been sitting quietly this whole time, glanced away, his ears turning red.

Nancy grinned. "And apparently, he had a crush on me too. But neither of us dared to talk to each other." She shot a glare at Alex. "Because someone was too busy being an asshole to Kat."

Alex held up his hands. "Hey, I already got my karma, alright?"

Nancy ignored him. "So, yeah, we spent years being stupid and avoiding each other because I thought he hated me, and he thought I wouldn’t want anything to do with him. And then, when we finally did talk, we realized we were both idiots and should’ve gotten together ages ago."

She finished her story with a satisfied nod.

There was a brief moment of silence before everyone slowly turned to look at me and Kat.

My stomach tightened.

Oh, no.

Nancy grinned. "Alright, your turn, Glyndon."

I could already feel my face getting hot.

I turned to Kat, half-expecting her to at least ease into it. Maybe soften the edges of our insane relationship history.

But no.

She smirked.

And then she just said it.

"Well, you see," Catherine started casually, "Glyndon bullied me for three years as we all know."

The entire room went still.

I snapped my head toward her. "Kat."

But she was already on a roll.

"And then I started fucking with her... sexually."

Oh my god.

"I stalked her. Made her life a living hell. Blackmailed her with some pictures and videos I had. Just threatened to tell everyone she was a little gay. I’d sneak into her room, follow her around, terrify her, you know—normal relationship stuff."

Nancy’s jaw dropped.

Malakai’s brows shot up so high they nearly disappeared into his hairline.

Alex, who had been drinking his soda, choked so violently that he started coughing, smacking his chest like he was trying to save himself from dying.

Nicholas... just stared.

She wasn’t done.

"Oh, and I faked a relationship with Savannah to make her jealous." She turned to me, grinning. "And it worked."

I wanted to die.

"Kat." My voice came out strangled.

"She got so jealous," Kathrine continued, "that she pulled me into the boy’s locker room, put a fork to my neck, and drew blood. And then she threatened to kill me. Or maybe kill Savannah. Or maybe both of us." She waved her hand. "And, yeah, one thing led to another, and now we’re together."

Dead. Silence.

Absolute, horrified, soul-crushing silence.

Nancy was the first to speak.

"I’m sorry. You’re going to have to run that back."

Malakai blinked. "Did you just—casually—say she put a fork to your neck?"

Alex was still coughing.

Nicholas looked like he was seconds away from either committing murder or having a stroke.

And I—

I just buried my face in my hands.

Groaned into my hands, my entire face burning with mortification.

"Kat," I hissed, peeking at her through my fingers. "You could’ve... worded that differently."

She just grinned, completely unbothered. "Why? I told the truth."

Nancy blinked at us. "That wasn’t the truth. That was a psychological horror story."

Malakai was staring at Kathrine like he wasn’t sure whether to be impressed or concerned. "Okay, but—seriously? A fork to the neck?"

Kat shrugged. "Technically, I provoked her."

Alex, who had finally recovered from his near-death experience, rubbed his temple. "Yeah, no shit you provoked her. You stalked her, blackmailed her, and faked an entire relationship just to piss her off." He turned to me, narrowing his eyes. "And you—what the hell? You pulled a fork on her?"

I groaned again, hiding my face. "It wasn’t that bad—"

Nicholas scoffed. "Not that bad? She just said you drew blood." His voice was sharp, his expression dark. "And she blackmailed you? Are you serious right now? What kind of fucked-up ’relationship’ is this?"

I lifted my head and frowned at him. "It’s not like that."

"It’s exactly like that!" Nicholas snapped. His face was already red from anger, and now it was getting even darker. "This—this is insane. You bullied her, and she terrorized you. How is that love? How does that lead to a fucking relationship?"

Kat sighed dramatically. "Oh, Nick, you’re so stuck in the past." She leaned back against the couch and casually threw an arm around my shoulders. "Look at us now. Totally in love. No blackmail, no threats. Just good old-fashioned affection."

I nudged her. "You sound like a serial killer."

She laughed, pressing a kiss to the top of my head.
