Sigil Online: I became the duke's third son -
Chapter 77
Chapter 77: Chapter 77
Together they made their way toward the garden, where Luan was already seated at a table surrounded by his servants, with Kian and Luciano standing right behind him.
After Liana stepped out of the castle and into the garden, she felt a pleasant breeze hit her face. Breathing in slowly, she savored the air before steeling her nerves for what was about to come.
Then she saw a stone terrace extended from the castle’s rear. At its center stood a marble table, surrounded by wooden chairs.
She saw a handsome young man elegantly seated already. He was holding a teacup and surrounded by servants.
As she slowly approached the table, she took a seat opposite him, with her own two attendants standing right behind her and the royal guards surrounding the two.
To make sure nothing would or could go wrong. Drago and Hana both were looking out the window in anticipation of what was about to unfold.
This could be a huge turning point in Luan’s life and for the third princess as well. With a smile, they both gazed out the window, not wanting to miss anything.
"Nice to meet you. I am Liana Alderon," she started with bowing her head elegantly.
Luan just sat there, staring at her for a second before he cleared his throat and also introduced himself.
"Nice to meet you; I’m Luan Meskevela, the third son of Drago Meskevela," he replied, also mirroring Liana’s bow.
With a perfect smile on her face Liana carefully took notice of everything Luan was doing. ’...It seems the information was accurate,’ she thought.
His slight hesitation in introducing himself and the stare made her feel very self-conscious about her body.
"My lady, do the thing," Liana suddenly heard echo in her mind. It was none other than Dren. They were always watching everything she was doing. This was her sigil’s ability: she could summon them to let others see them and communicate.
But she herself was always being guided by them; this was also the reason she was so well-mannered.
With a quick glance at Eva and a sigh, Liana looked at Luan once more. "Excuse me, but I would like some more privacy. Could you choose two people and have them stand right behind you?" she said.
Luan raised an eyebrow at her words. "The two are already standing behind me. But what are you going to do?" he inquired, intrigued by what this young lady would do.
Then Eva waved her arm, and a black veil appeared around Luan, Liana, and their four attendants. Isolating them from the outside world. Inside the veil it was pitch black with only the chairs and the table inside the space.
Then Liana made an illusory court appear, lighting the whole space, and the table they were seated at merged seamlessly with the illusory table.
Luan looked around, his eyes wide. "Wow," he muttered. Kian and Luciano, on the other hand, held their daggers and looked around warily.
"Hahaha, welcome, future spouse," Dren remarked, standing up and staring at Kian with fire in his eyes.
"You’re strong; if I were still alive, I would have loved to battle with you," he sighed, a sad expression on his face. And just like that, he sat back down.
"Don’t worry, these are mine and Eva’s sigil abilities; no harm will come to you all," Liana explained.
"Stand down," Luan then ordered Kian and Luciano, who let go of their daggers and, with perfect posture, stood behind Luan once more, looking around in awe.
Especially Kian, he had seen many magical things during his time, but something like this was a first. ’This princess is very interesting,’ he mused.
"So now that we’re all alone here, what did you want to talk about, Your Highness?" Luan teasingly asked, a wide grin on his face.
The moment he laid eyes on the princess, he knew he needed her; she was just that beautiful. And it looks like she is very capable as well.
’Her appearance alone is more than enough; anything more are bonus points,’ he thought, as he kept his eyes peeled to the princess’s body.
Liana looked rather uncomfortable, but she still kept her strong front. ’Let’s get this over with; the faster, the better.’
"Do you want to get engaged, and if so, do you know what the implications for that will be?" Liana said, getting straight to the point.
Getting to know him? That was for later; for now she needed to get engaged, and after that everything else would work itself out, hopefully.
Even though she was rather uncertain about this young man in front of her, as he looked like an incompetent that was only eyeing her body and seemed to not have a care in the world.
Eva and Anna both had somber expressions on their faces, seeing the young man that the Empress had ordered their lady to marry.
Both doubted her judgment, and while Liana was trying to convince herself that Luan was playing stupid or hiding, Anna was sending all of what was currently happening straight to her twin sister, who was right next to the Empress.
"Yes, I want to," Luan briskly declared, a smug look on his face.
’She is rather forward as well. Not that I mind it the slightest bit if I get to marry such a babe,’ he thought, grinning from ear to ear.
Liana sighed a little, rubbing her temples as her indifferent exterior cracked little by little at Luan’s behavior.
"You do know that getting engaged with me does also have downsides, right? Like expectations of the imperial family, especially from my mother, the Empress," she started, letting her frustrations get the better of her.
"And you will also be granted a fief you will have to protect and manage, because someone who marries an imperial will automatically become a marquis," she finished, recomposing herself as if nothing had happened.
Luan just smiled, "I know, Liana. But it feels a little weird that you created this space only to say that, you know?" Luan casually mentioned looking around leisurely.
