Chapter 64: Chapter 64
After the three of them left the room, Luan looked at Kian and Luciano. "Prepare everything; we’ll be leaving tomorrow."
Sinking into his chair sighing, Luan looked outside the window at all the hustle and bustle of people entering and leaving The Silver Coin. He couldn’t do anything about it; he needed to return home.
Even though he absolutely didn’t want to yet. As the business was still only just starting to earn some money, he wanted to do many more things, but the circumstances didn’t allow it.
"Go now, and let Galan in," Luan said, signalling for Kian and Luciano to leave.
The two left after bowing and left the door open so Galan could enter.
After he entered, he closed the door behind him and kneeled in the middle of the room so Luan could still see him while seated.
"You needed me, young master?" He politely inquired, staring at the ground.
"Yes, due to some circumstances at home, I will be leaving tomorrow morning, and I need you to do a couple of things," Luan started.
Galan raised his head, staring Luan dead in the eyes to make sure he wouldn’t miss a single word he uttered.
Luan nodded with a satisfied expression on his face. "First of all, I have appointed a new boss. Your job will still be the same: protect the boss and manage all the security of The Silver Coin."
Galan nodded seriously.
Clearing his throat, Luan stood up and walked toward the large window; standing in front of it with his hands crossed behind his back, he continued.
"Also, every month you and Jone, the new boss, will check all the expenditures and revenue and compile all that in a document and send it to me on a monthly basis together with some funds that you can miss," he finished, finally turning around to face Galan.
"Understood, young master! I wish you a good return, and don’t worry, I’ll keep an eye on things here," Galan declared, slapping his chest proudly.
Luan nodded, walking back toward the desk and taking another seat.
"Make sure you keep paying the craftsmen and have enough funds for emergencies. Only send what you can absolutely miss to me, even if it’s nothing the first couple of months; that’s fine."
Luan carefully explained he needed this business to succeed to sponsor his luxurious lifestyle. So living on a budget for a couple of months or even years wouldn’t be a problem as long as in the long term he would become filthy rich.
Galan made mental notes of everything he said to make sure that everything would be exactly as the young master had ordered.
"That’s all. I’ll still be here for the rest of the day, so if you have any questions, you can always ask me."
Hearing that, Galan took it as his cue to leave and left the room, stationing himself right outside the door once more, thinking over everything Luan had just said.
Then a rather plump middle-aged man arrived in front of him, and Galan suspiciously eyed him, grasping the hilt of his sword, and he stepped in front of the door.
"Who are you?" He demanded.
The plump middle-aged man started sweating, seeing the muscular man grasp the hilt of his sword and glare at him.
"Hello, I am Avalin, and someone named Kian directed me here," Avalin politely said, wiping his sweat with a napkin he took out of his luxurious coat.
When Galan heard him say that, he relaxed a little and opened the door. "Follow me."
They both entered the office, and Luan raised an eyebrow when he saw Galan enter immediately after he had left.
"Do you have a question?" But right after he asked this, another man entered.
Galan bowed deeply. "He said Kian directed him here," he explained.
Avalin looked at Luan and also raised an eyebrow. ’This young boy is the boss here?’ he thought, but he immediately recomposed himself and, with a slight bow, swiftly introduced himself.
"Hello, I am Avalin, and the reason I came here today is to discuss a possible collaboration or to invest in The Silver Coin."
"Close the door," Luan ordered Galan.
Who swiftly closed the door, and immediately after a chair appeared beside Avalin; it looked a little crude, formed from earth, but it was the best Luan could do at the moment.
After Galan closed the door, he went and stood behind Luan, not lowering his guard even a little. His hand hovered close to the sword’s hilt.
Avalin looked curiously at the chair for a while before taking a seat.
"Sorry, I wasn’t expecting anyone, so there weren’t any chairs for you to sit on, so I created one," Luan explained as two glasses full of water appeared on his desk.
One of them floated toward Avalin, and the other he took a sip of. "So you wanted to talk about a possible collaboration or investing?" he inquired.
Avalin was quite surprised by the sudden appearance of two glasses but quickly recomposed himself, also taking a sip of water.
He looked at Luan with a serious look. ’It seems there is more to him than I thought.’
"That’s right, after my employees came here a couple of times, they decided to tell me about it. Then I came to take a look, and I have to say I’m very impressed," he said.
Luan had a smug look on his face. "Thank you very much," he replied.
Then his stance shifted, his arms leaning on his desk, and his earlier nonchalance had vanished. He looked Avalin dead in the eye.
"That was enough idle banter. I don’t have all day; make your offer," he declared.
Avalin gulped. Wiped his sweat once more. "I would like to either have our businesses work together or maybe even just offer you some money for a part of The Silver Coin, whichever you prefer."
"Hmmm, first off. What is your business? As for the other part, unless you have way too much money, you won’t be able to afford it," Luan proudly stated.
