Chapter 63: Chapter 63

At the inn, Luan was seated on the sofa carefully examining himself and his other spirits to determine if they would experience any similar events.

Clover and Lily stood on opposite sides of the sofa, making sure they could respond as fast as possible if anything happened.

After they saw how Tokiko was supporting his body and how he lay down on the sofa, they were all very worried.

Glancing at each other with worried expressions on their faces, they both balled their fists and nodded furiously.

Luan, who sat down with his eyes closed and was carefully inspecting his own body with the spirit power, didn’t notice any of it.

But after doing a thorough check, he didn’t find anything wrong; scrunching his eyebrows together, he sighed.

"I guess it’s good that nothing is wrong. But why am I feeling so weak then?" he muttered.

Clover and Lily both snapped out of it and focused all their attention on Luan.

"Are you feeling uncomfortable anywhere, my lord?" Lily carefully inquired.

"Not really; I’m just feeling quite weak. Go and make some food and bring me a glass of water," Luan replied.

Lily immediately made her way toward the kitchen while Clover stayed at her spot. Kian had ordered them that there should always be someone close to him.

After a while, Lily and Samantha returned with a bowl of soup and a glass of water.

"Here you go, my lord," Samantha said, placing it on the table and maneuvering it closer to him so he could eat without moving too much.

Luan nodded and slowly started eating the soup; it had a rich flavor. ’Chicken soup, huh? Very nice,’ he thought as he quickly devoured it.

After finishing the bowl, he felt a little better, which made him think. Maybe Vira had absorbed a lot of nutrients from his body, so he would have to eat more than usual the next couple of days.

At some point in time, Kian had entered the room and stood behind Luan, holding a luxurious envelope.

He softly cleared his throat to grab Luan’s attention. "My lord, a letter from the Meskevela duchy has arrived. It was sent with haste," he said, handing the letter to Luan.

Who almost fell off the sofa when Kian cleared his throat. "Kian, you really need to stop doing that," Luan grumbled, opening the letter.

He was curious why it had been sent with haste. Was there something wrong at home? It shouldn’t be, or maybe his mother had been worried because he might have forgotten to send a letter the last couple of months.

’Sorry, Mother,’ he thought with a smile on his face.

Opening the letter, he started reading it. At first his face was relaxed, but then his eyes suddenly widened.

"Shit! Why now?" He shouted, throwing the letter away. It had been going so well, but of course something just had to happen now.

"Kian read it," he said, his earlier nonchalance gone. His mood had been thoroughly ruined by the contents of the letter.

Kian picked the flying piece of paper out of the air and quickly read through it, raising an eyebrow at the contents.

"Well, my lord. There is nothing you can do about that. I guess it’s time to make the final adjustments, and then we’ll be going back," he stated, neatly folding the letter and placing it next to Luan.

Clover, Lily, and Samantha looked at each other and then at the piece of paper that Kian had just neatly folded.

"Go ahead," Luan grumbled, standing up.

"Let’s go, Kian. Call Luciano as well." With that, Luan put his coat back on and made his way downstairs, with Kian and Luciano following close behind.

The three maids were frantically reading the letter, and after they finished reading it, they all high-fived each other.

"Finally we’re going back!" Clover shouted, a huge smile on her face.

Lily and Samantha were celebrating as well. Because Luan was so popular because of his double sigil awakening, he had been recalled a couple of months earlier toward the Meskevela estate.

The girls ran around spreading the news to all the maids as well. They also warned them about Luan’s mood worsening significantly.

"Make sure to be on your best behavior and do your job as best as you can. His mood was really bad just now," Clover warned the other girls.

Normally Luan was rather laid-back, and making mistakes was fine and all, but when he is stressed or in a bad mood, you better not do any of that.

They had found out the hard way when Luan returned after an exhausting day at The Silver Coin; he had seriously lashed out at Celia, who had spilled some water on his clothes.

He had apologized the next day, but it was firmly implanted in their memory, so now with the warning Clover gave them, all the girls would watch their every step.

At The Silver Coin Luan sat at his desk looking at Jone, Kade, and Marissa. "Due to an emergency, the decision will be made right now. Kian, who do you recommend?" Luan said, his expression super serious.

Kian cleared his throat and pointed at Jone. "After the limited amount of testing, I think going with the previous plan is perfectly fine with Jone as the official head."

When they heard that, the three looked at Luan with expecting gazes.

"Hmm, alright, we will go with that arrangement then, not like I have any other choice," Luan muttered, rolling his eyes.

"But heed my warning: I want monthly documents of all the expenses and everything. If anything doesn’t add up, you’ll suffer the consequences," Luan said.

Exerting so much aura that all three of them fell to the ground barely conscious, they were all gasping for air.

Then it disappeared, and Luan looked at them with a slight smile. "Understood?"

"Yes, young master! I will make sure everything goes smoothly," Jone said, scrambling upright after that horrifying experience.

Marissa and Kade were trembling in fear, glancing at each other and then at Luan, both bowing deeply and nodding furiously in agreement with Jones’s statement.
