"Are you okay? And what the hell was that?" Giuseppe asked, looking back at the middle of his shop that was now completely empty.

Luan grunted, supporting his head with his hand. "I don’t know. But what I do know is that it’s related to my sigil."

Giuseppe stared at Luan for a while, unsure what to do next. A sigil was a person’s deepest secret except for the name; no one knew anything about another’s sigil.

Asking the young master to share would be overstepping, but his curiosity was killing him. Scratching his head, he looked at Grant, who seemed to share the same thoughts.

"Young master, we would really like to know a bit more about this situation. Is there any way you could explain your sigil?" Giuseppe carefully asked Luan, trying not to overstep and jeopardize the relationship they had built up over the past couple of months.

Tokiko looked at Giuseppe in disbelief. ’Does she seriously think the lord will explain?’ she mocked internally.

Kafele, who had just reentered the shop, also looked at Giuseppe with a look that said, "Are you dumb?" and shook his head.

He couldn’t imagine how Luan would blow up or the things he would do; this was basically asking for his deepest and most personal secrets.

Luan rolled his eyes and, with a lot of effort, moved his body to face Giuseppe. "No can do, Giuseppe," he stated.

Giuseppe looked disappointed, but Luan’s answer made sense; even he wouldn’t share anything about his sigil, after all. Not even Grant, his apprentice, knew anything about it.

Nor did he know anything about Grant’s; this was how it was meant to be.

"But don’t worry, I’m totally fine. It was just a surprise, as it’s the first time something like that happened."

Giuseppe nodded in understanding; learning about his own sigil had also been a struggle. Even when you think you know everything about it, it can suddenly change or, worse, mutate.

"That’s good. Well, I’ll head back to the smelting room, then call me when you’re done looking around." After saying that, Giuseppe and Grant turned around and headed back.

Luan signalled to Tokiko, who didn’t seem to understand what he meant. Tilting her head slightly and with a frown on her face.

Kafele chuckled a little. "Giuseppe, my lord is done looking," he said loud enough for the two dwarves to hear.

Then something clicked in Tokiko’s mind, and her face turned bright red. "I’m sorry, my lord," she whispered, bowing deeply.

"It’s fine. Don’t worry, I forgot you became a maid only recently and haven’t finished all the training like the others." Luan reassured her that after everything that had just happened, it had totally slipped his mind.

Otherwise he would have just said it himself, but oh well, nothing can be done about it now. It wasn’t a big deal.

The two dwarves stood at the counter and looked at the two pairs of daggers. "Will this be all?" Giuseppe asked.

Luan nodded and handed him a couple of gold coins. "Keep the change."

With that, the trio left the shop, and Luan stretched his muscles. Trying to get the uncomfortable feeling out of his body, but ever since Vira reentered the mark on his back, he has been feeling very uncomfortable.

"Kafele, you head to the merchant guild and hand over the gold coins and card to Maria. Tokiko and I will return to the inn because of what just happened."

Kafele accepted the pouch with gold coins and the card and went on his way toward the merchant guild like Luan had ordered, and Luan and Tokiko headed back to the inn.

"What great timing, Vira," he lamented, but a smile was plastered on his face.

"Are you okay, my lord?" Tokiko asked, hearing him mutter a name she had never heard, and she was concerned that the earlier flash might have messed with his brain.

"Yeah, I’m fine. Let’s just head back to the inn, and we’ll see what to do after that," Luan said.

Then the two made their way back to the inn, not stopping anywhere to gather any more information. His whole plan had been ruined by what happened to Vira.

But he didn’t mind at all; he felt that what happened to Vira would only make her stronger, which in turn meant strengthening himself, which was always the most important.

Earning lots of money was good and all, and having powerful guards as well. But if he himself wasn’t strong, he could die at any moment, so Luan was very satisfied that whatever Vira was going through, it happened before he headed back home.

Kafele arrived at the merchant guild gasping for breath. "Pretty fast if I do say so myself," he muttered, entering the guild.

At the counter he greeted the receptionist politely. "Hello, I’m looking for Maria."

"Do you have an appointment, sir?"

"Ah, it’s not for anything like that; I only want to give her a gift sent by my lord." He hurriedly explained.

When the receptionist heard that, her heart skipped a beat. His lord had sent a gift? And even went as far as making a servant personally deliver it to her workplace?

Grabbing her cheeks with both hands, she writhed in place, imagining multiple outrageous scenarios of this mystery man marrying Maria.

Kafele just stood there, unsure why this woman was acting like that. "Excuse me, but I don’t have all day," he politely reminded the receptionist, trying to get her out of her delusions.

"My apologies, sir; I’ll call for Maria immediately. Could you please take a seat in the waiting room?" She said, pointing at a room where some other people were seated.

"Alright," Kafele said as he took a seat at the edge of the room.

The receptionist hurriedly rushed toward Maria’s office. After arriving, she knocked a couple of times and patiently waited for her to reply.

"Come in."

Then she entered the room and looked at Maria, the most beautiful woman in the whole merchant guild. She was famous for having extremely high standards, and that was also the reason she was still single even at her age.

Her long, fiery red hair and black eyes complemented each other as the receptionist stared into Maria’s eyes for a while before finally snapping out of it after she saw Maria frown.

"There is someone who wants to give you a gift. He is waiting in the waiting room," the receptionist said.

Maria slowly stood up with a raised eyebrow. ’Another worthless suitor, I guess. Well, the least I can do is accept the gift; there’s no reason to refuse that,’ she mused.

Together they left the room and made their way back to the front; once there, the receptionist pointed at Kafele, who was seated holding a small pouch and a card.

Maria scrunched her eyebrows together trying to see if she knew him or why he would come bearing gifts, but she had no clue, so she just approached him to accept the gifts.

"Hello, I heard from Laila that you wanted to give me some gifts?" Maria asked.

"That’s correct, but these gifts aren’t from me; they’re from my lord. He wanted to thank you for your help in selecting a building," Kafele replied, handing her the pouch and card.

"Inside the pouch is a small note that explains everything. Now if you will excuse me, I need to leave." With that, Kafele left the merchant guild.

Leaving Maria standing there stumped holding the gifts. ’What the hell?’ she thought.

Stomping away, she blew right past Laila, who had a huge smile on her face, just imagining Maria finding a husband.

Once she was back inside her own office, she quickly sat down and opened the pouch. What she saw inside left her baffled.

"Gold coins? And a single note?" She muttered as she opened the note.

"From Luan," she started reading the note.

"Thank you for your help finding the building for my business. This pouch and card are meant to be used inside The Silver Coin, which is situated in the west of the city."

"Huh? That’s it?" She stared at the note in disbelief, turning it a couple of times to make sure she hadn’t missed anything. But that was really all.

"Who the hell is this Luan!?" She grumbled, completely tearing the small note into pieces, and she threw them on the ground.
