Chapter 58: Chapter 58
Luan was back at the inn. The opening day of the Silver Coin wasn’t a massive success, but he had made ample preparations and wasn’t too worried about it.
Right now, he was in a meeting with Thomas and the other helpers his mother had sent, discussing a very important topic.
Luan sat confidently at the head of the table, looking over everyone.
"So, how’s that thing coming along?" he inquired.
A gentleman with short black hair and black eyes stood up while clearing his throat.
"It’s going well, young master," he said, glancing around nervously.
They had had multiple meetings like these over the last couple of months, but they still had no clue why Luan was building something like that.
"But young master, why are you building that? And under the Silver Coin, nonetheless?"
Luan stared at the older man for a while. Then, with a sigh, he signaled for the older man to sit down.
"If you want me to tell you, you’ll have to sign another contract to make sure none of it is leaked," Luan said.
Everyone glanced at each other and then at Thomas, who, without hesitation, took out a stack of papers from his suitcase.
"The young master is always prepared. If you sign this contract, he can explain it," Thomas stated, a proud look on his face.
He had been working a lot over the last couple of months, barely having the time to properly sleep, but he didn’t mind. He was helping the young master—just like he had done for his brothers.
The stack of papers was passed around the whole table, and everyone took a single sheet from it, carefully reading through it.
They were surprised by how simple the contract was; the only condition was that you could not talk to anyone about what Luan was about to explain.
So everyone quickly signed the contract and handed it back to Thomas, who, in turn, handed it to Luan.
Luan gave a satisfied nod, and with a snap of his fingers, Kafele and Luciano stepped forward and placed multiple blueprints on the table.
Clearing his throat, Luan stood up and started walking around the table while explaining his idea.
"I call it The Iron Theatre. And the reason I am having the craftsmen build such a massive underground structure is because we will be using those monsters and animals as spectacle," Luan proudly stated, a massive grin on his face.
Thomas and the others were listening attentively, trying not to miss any details. After the Silver Coin, which was never seen before, it seemed the young master had another unprecedented idea.
"We will have people fight against people to the death or with objectives. Or even fight against these monsters or animals. And when the arena is finished, we will start selling tickets to these fights to earn massive amounts of profits."
Finishing a full round around the table, he took a seat once more, with Kafele and Luciano standing behind him.
Glancing at one another, they were surprised. What kind of insanity was this? Selling tickets for death battles?
"Young master, this might be a bit presumptuous of me, but are you sure this is a good idea?" a man asked.
Luan had proved himself to be capable, but he was still only fourteen years old. They had to be realistic and stop him when the idea Luan proposed wouldn’t work out—even if it meant earning his ire.
Luan chuckled at the man’s words.
"Luke, I wasn’t asking for your opinion. I told you what the plan was. It’s already been put into motion, so even if I wanted to, I won’t be able to stop it," he stated.
Luke’s and the others’ eyes widened.
Looks like the young master is becoming too confident in his own ability, Luke thought, shaking his head.
Sighing, he shrugged. "Is that all you wanted to discuss here? I feel like you’re just going to be wasting your funds, and this might even drag the Silver Coin into debt."
"That won’t happen. All you need to do is keep doing your assigned job. Both of these ideas will become huge successes," Luan confidently stated.
"Ok, that was that. Now, onto another matter. I need someone to act as the boss of the Silver Coin when I head back home and start attending the Imperial Academy."
With a snap of his fingers, Kian and all the maids put down a briefcase in front of everyone sitting around the table except Thomas.
"Anyone can become the boss, but there are a couple of requirements. I will need monthly sheets of the expenses, revenue, and more. Also, you will be in charge of opening new establishments in this country and other countries," Luan explained while they were reading through the documents placed on the table.
What was written on it was about the same as what Luan was explaining, only going into more detail. Becoming the boss had its perks and downsides.
You would shoulder a lot of responsibility while also enjoying luxuries like a higher salary and other benefits.
Luke and the others read through it carefully while listening to Luan’s explanation. And while Luan was explaining, they felt a sort of pressure descend onto them.
Sweat dripping down their brows, they looked at one another with a knowing look in their eyes. Luan was no pushover. He would do anything to reach his goals, and handing out this position was only because of necessity.
So he had to make sure the one who got the position would properly do their job and not just bankrupt the business.
"Understood?" Luan asked at the end of his explanation.
When his speech ended, the men felt the pressure vanish and saw a devilish smile on Luan’s face. He would no doubt hunt anyone down who would hurt his business.
All at once, they stood up and bowed deeply, almost headbutting the table.
"We understand, young master!" they shouted.
"Good. I’ll give you all a couple of days, and then I’ll decide who gets the position. You may all leave now."
They all stood up and left the room, holding the paper with all the requirements to become the boss.
