Chapter 55
Chapter 55: Chapter 55
Waiting in the city for Kafele and Luciano to arrive, Luan strolled around aimlessly for a while, purchasing some food from street vendors. He quite liked the atmosphere here; compared to the empire, it felt more free-spirited.
"My lord!" Luan suddenly heard. Turning his head, he saw Luciano and Kafele running straight toward him. With bated breath, they stopped right in front of him.
"Good, now let’s go. We don’t have much time left," Luan stated, not waiting for the two to catch their breath. He turned around and left the commercial district, entering the lower-class district.
He went knocking from door to door, hoping someone would be home or answer. But with each door that stayed shut tightly, he felt his hopes crumbling little by little.
"Tsk, maybe I should’ve delayed the opening a day and gone around in the evening," Luan mumbled to himself.
While Kafele and Luciano were walking right behind him, hearing his rant, they rolled their eyes. It had only been three hours.
Luciano leaned close to Kafele’s ear. "What’s he complaining about?" he whispered.
Kafele chuckled and shrugged. "No idea, but you know how he is," he muttered back.
The two straightened their postures and tried to hide their laughter, but could barely contain it, and here and there a chuckle escaped when they saw Luan kick a stone lying in front of him in frustration.
Finally, someone opened the door—a couple, an older man and woman with grey hair, who looked curiously at the three young men.
"Hello, young man, is there something you need?" the older woman asked, with a warm smile on her face.
Luan’s frustrations vanished immediately, and with the best business smile he could muster, he looked at the couple.
"Hello, and yes, we do need something," he replied.
Kafele and Luciano almost completely lost it seeing Luan act like that; never in a million years would they have expected him to act like a sleazy merchant.
Now the older man answered. "What is it?" he asked, straight to the point.
"Could we come in? It is related to the business that is opening soon."
The older couple looked at each other and then nodded, letting the three young men inside; they guided them to the living room.
Luan took a seat on a chair while Kafele and Luciano stood behind him.
The older man raised an eyebrow at this display but didn’t let it bother him, and after taking a seat next to his wife, he got straight to the point.
"So, you said it was related to a business you’re opening? What could you possibly need from us?"
Luan took out a single gold coin from his pocket and flicked it into the air, catching it once more in his hand and putting it back.
Now that he had completely grabbed their attention, he cleared his throat.
"Would you like to earn some quick money?" he asked, a smirk on his face.
The man looked at his wife, his eyes sparkling after seeing that gold coin. His wife also looked at him.
Then the man turned around and looked at Luan once more.
"What are your conditions?" he asked.
Luan felt confident that he had secured them. "All you have to do is come to The Silver Coin by following one of my butlers, and we will explain everything there. But I can guarantee you that it will be completely risk-free," he explained.
"Deal," declared the older man without hesitation.
"But can we wait until our children are back home and take them with us?"
"Sure, Kafele, you stay here and guide them toward it when the children have returned," Luan ordered, standing back up.
"Thank you for your time, and see you all soon." With that, he and Luciano left the modest house and continued their search for more people to help promote the business.
When Luan returned to The Silver Coin, he was followed by Luciano and another man. He saw the man from the slums and the older couple together with their children, both of whom looked to be around twenty-five years old. The son had short blue hair and blue eyes and wore modest clothes like his parents. The daughter, on the other hand, had long brown hair and blue eyes; she wore an elegant dress.
Luan stared at her for a little while before they all entered the building. Once inside, they all looked around, mouths agape. They had never seen anything like it; it was filled with tables with all kinds of unknown things on top of them. At every table stood a few people in neat suits, alongside armored guards carrying weapons.
"Don’t worry, they’re just here for security measures. Let’s go upstairs. I’ll then explain what I expect you all to do and what your rewards will be."
With that, Luan and the three butlers guided them toward the next room, and they entered a private room where enough chairs for everyone were prepared.
"Take a seat," Kian said, pointing at the chairs prepared for them.
Luan stood behind the table with a smirk on his face; he could barely wait for the opening. Clearing his throat, he looked at all the people seated across the room.
"So this establishment is called The Silver Coin and will be a casino and a high-class restaurant." He started by explaining a little about the business to ensure they would spread the most accurate and enticing information.
"What I need you all to do is, after a couple of hours, leave and tell anyone you know or go to a cafe and spread the news about this place; I don’t care where or when. I need you all to spread it as wide as you can."
All of them were listening attentively to make sure they wouldn’t mess up. They felt this was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity they couldn’t afford to waste.
"Now for the compensation, I will hand all of you a card that grants you access to the restaurant and a private room for a month. Plus, I will also give each of you five gold coins."
