Chapter 114
Chapter 114: Chapter 114
Luan looked around frantically as all kinds of ideas flashed through his mind, trying to think of any way to beat this current predicament.
Forming more golems would be pointless; those ogres would just make quick work of them, and recklessly engaging them in close combat was an even worse idea.
The last time he did that, he was almost pulverized in a single swing of the weaker ogres.
"What do I do now?" Luan muttered, clenching his fist. He wanted to at least clear one of the objectives to be able to get a higher score even if the objectives were absurdly difficult.
"Guess I’ll have to use that already." He decisively stated as his earlier panicked expression turned into a confident one, and with a smirk, he slowly stepped forward.
Jumping out of his multiple-layered barriers, he slowly walked over the river, cutting down any monster that dared to approach him with a devilish smirk on his face.
’This feels nice, if only those damn ogres didn’t exist.’ Luan mused, cutting down all kinds of monsters; some he cut in half, others he cut into smaller pieces.
Blood splattered everywhere. His whole body now covered in monster blood, he looked like a devil in human clothes. Even the monsters that were mindlessly attacking the humans shivered at the sight of Luan leisurely cutting down monsters while walking over the river.
Avoiding Luan, the monsters left a huge opening in the middle where he stood and kept jumping over the river more to the side. Everyone inside the barriers was cheering Luan on while massacring the monsters that were now much easier to deal with.
With a wave of his hand, Luan raised himself into the air by forming a small hill below him. Holding a bow made out of pure energy, Luan started shooting massive arrows filled with energy at all the monsters.
Ogre, troll, goblin, or even wolf. It didn’t matter what kind of monster you were; he kept indiscriminately firing off arrow after arrow. Even though it had barely any effect on the ogres, all the other monsters were blown to smithereens when the arrow exploded nearby.
The ogres, on the other hand, only had a couple of scratches on their skin.
"Tsk," Luan rolled his eyes while clicking his tongue at the overwhelming force the ogres displayed. How was any student without going through proper training and entering the tower supposed to take those brutes down?
With a shrug, Luan decided to leave those bastards for last and focused on supporting his soldiers by blowing as many monsters to smithereens as he possibly could.
With his face covered in blood, he kept shooting one arrow after the other, not even caring about the ogres that were slowly approaching the hill he was on.
The morale of everyone behind him was skyrocketing as they felt their energy and mana constantly being refilled.
"Keep fighting; we can do this!" Dimitri declared, cutting two goblins cleanly in half.
"Yes, sir!" All his underlings shouted in unison, seeing the tides turn after the general took action personally.
The ogres were carefully approaching the hill Luan was on, keeping their guard up for any arrows aimed at them.
Even though a single arrow wasn’t deadly, they still couldn’t be careless with such firepower; if that human could fire that many, that meant he was a serious threat to their king’s plan, so they had to take care of him as fast as possible.
Spotting the approaching ogres, Luan completely ignored them and kept focusing on the weaker monsters; everything was going according to plan.
Those ogres seemed smarter than he had initially anticipated, but even they shouldn’t be able to survive the trap he had set for them. And after that, the wave should be cleared.
Then when they were close enough, Luan stomped a couple of times on the hill, and immediately after, the ogres all felt chills running down their spines.
Tightly grasping their weapons, they all nervously looked around, slowly approaching each other and forming a circle with no blind spots.
They decided to wait until this feeling was gone before continuing to approach that human; he was most definitely planning something.
But without realizing it, underground Torg and Mara were approaching all the orcs, Torg forming a path for Mara to easily go through with all the collected blood from the multiple waves.
The stomps were the sign that Luan had decided on, and even though they couldn’t communicate with him, they could understand him.
Once Torg stopped, Mara didn’t hesitate a second; with a single wave of her tail, all the blood shot upwards at insane speeds, with the help of Torg forming small but deadly gaps in the earth.
They worked together perfectly as massive spikes of blood shot out from underneath the ogres, piercing their bodies.
From their ass all the way through their heads. Horrifying screeching was heard throughout the battlefield, and the moment Luan heard them, he shifted his target immediately.
Firing as many arrows as he could at all the pierced ogres. He couldn’t take any risks, knowing how powerful they are.
One arrow after another hit the ogres’ immensely tough skin and exploded, but because the ogres were fully pierced, they couldn’t do anything, their feet submerged in mud formed by Mara and Torg working together.
With a grin on his face, Luan heaved a sigh of relief after he saw the last ogre fall down lifelessly. But he didn’t relax; with sweat dripping down his brow, he rushed back toward the fortress to see the situation over there.
When he arrived, he was very satisfied; only two of the five barriers he had put up had shattered, and there were zero casualties as of now. Only some soldiers at the frontlines were showing signs of exhaustion, which was totally normal given the circumstances they were in.
Quickly flying over everyone and landing behind them, he was also exhausted after using so many of his abilities to take down all the ogres and so many of the monsters.
Quickly forming a chair, he sat down, breathing heavily. "Is it over now?" he muttered to himself, staring ahead, seeing most of the monsters dead and only a couple hundred were left standing in front of the barriers.
