Chapter 77: Hearty Appetite

When I woke up, I realized that I was lying comfortably in bed.

Where am I?

I rubbed my sleepy eyes, taking a look around me. Realizing that I was in the bedroom, I scanned the room to find Christian.

"How did I get here? If I remember correctly, we were downstairs..."

Images of our passionate activities flashed through my mind. Christian’s endless stamina was no joke.

I must have fallen asleep after we finished.

Christian wasn’t in the bed, but the spot where he slept was still warm. I could hear the water running in the bathroom and realized that he must have gone to take a shower.

Just as I was about to get out of bed, the bathroom door opened, letting the steam enter the bedroom.

"Oh, hey! You’re awake. I was going to wake you up in an hour for dinner."

Christian walked out of the bathroom with a white towel around his waist. His hair was still wet from the shower, occasionally dripping water down his shoulders.

"Yeah, I didn’t realize that I even fell asleep. It was a great nap, though," I smiled.

Christian walked over, "Yeah, that’s my fault. I think I went a bit overboard again, sorry." This time, he looked a little guilty.

I was so into it that I didn’t think he was being too much, but the soreness between my legs told me otherwise.

Still, I shook my head. "Don’t apologize. Though I’m a bit sore, I wouldn’t have it any other way."

Christian walked over to my side to help me get out of bed, "Let me walk you to the shower. I wiped you off a bit earlier, but it’s still best to rinse off."

I nodded, accepting his help. He placed one of his arms around my waist and walked me over to the still-steamy shower.

After rinsing off and putting on a comfortable set of clothing, I made my way downstairs for dinner. The moment I made it to the staircase, I noticed the disaster the living room had turned into.

Seeing the sight of how the furniture was shifted and clothing, amongst other items, was scattered around, I realized what Christian meant by going overboard.

Christian was downstairs trying to clean up as I made my way down. He noticed me and flashed me a guilty smile.

"I ordered room service for dinner. This way we can have a chill evening and relax."

"Haha, sounds amazing. I appreciate you sparing me from having to walk," I laughed.

I made my way over to Christian’s side and began to help him tidy up.

"Oh, I don’t think so. You just need to sit your beautiful self right here and relax," said Christian. He took the shirt out of my hand and led me to take a seat on one of the plush armchairs.

His actions caused me to let out a soft giggle, but I enjoyed his pampering very much.

Christian quickly cleaned up the room and moved the furniture back to its original positions. The entire time, he didn’t let me take a step out of my chair.

By the time he finished cleaning, the hotel staff arrived with dinner. They quickly set up the table with another assortment of exquisite local cuisine before leaving.

I looked over at the table excitedly, checking out all of the delicious-looking food. My stomach growled, giving away my hunger.

"Come, let’s dig in. Between skipping lunch and our intense exercise today, I won’t be satisfied until you eat your fill."

He sat down beside me, handing me a plateful of food. "Tell me what you want, I’ll get it for you."

I happily accepted the plate, quickly trying a forkful of a local chicken dish.

"Oh wow, this is incredible!"

My eyes lit up, and I quickly went to have another piece. The chicken was juicy and full of flavor. The creamy sauce that it was served with was also very good, complementing the dish perfectly.

Christian nodded his head with approval. I marveled at how well he was eating. Back at the office, he would eat slowly and only enough to feel full. Now he was eating a good amount and a large variety.

"You seem to really be enjoying the food here. We will have to find a way to bring some of these ingredients home," I smiled.

"Yeah, there’s just something about the freshness of the ingredients and the local spices that makes me really enjoy it. That and all of the worked-up hunger from earlier. It’s thanks to you that I have such a big appetite today."

I reached over and placed a juicy dumpling on his plate. "Here, try this. I think it’s my new favorite kind of dumpling ever."

Christian quickly accepted the food, eating it in a single bite.

"You’re right, I’ll have to order these a few more times while we’re here," he agreed, looking at me with bright eyes.

The rest of dinner went by peacefully. Christian made sure that I was in full comfort mode and did all of the basic cleanup afterwards.

He sat back down beside me after everything was put away and placed his arms around me. Just as we were starting to watch TV, his phone vibrated.

"It’s Roan, he says he wants to meet for lunch tomorrow. Apparently, he’s getting discharged from the hospital in the morning."

"Oh, that’s good. That means that he’s doing well. I’m glad," I replied with a soft smile.

Christian looked up at me, "Thank you, Leslie. I know that you don’t know him well, but I appreciate your concern. Roan is someone whom I respect very much."

I nodded, "Of course. I trust your judgement. If you find him worthy of respect, then so do I."

"Then, after we meet with Roan for lunch, we can go and settle a few matters for Sophia," he suggested.

"Sounds good, I’ll check my email later to see if Yulia sent any more designs over. I’m starting to be very excited for this season’s launch."

"I am, too," he said. "I’ll have to start thinking of how to reward you, I have a feeling that this will be Sophia’s best year in terms of sales."

"Oh, please, don’t have such high expectations. This is my first time working on something like this," I said, blushing.

Plus, the only reward I want is to be by your side.
