Somewhere in the Void.

"Who would have thought that someone could possess the ability to endure this place?" A cloaked man snickered as he observed a man standing not far from him. "Someone capable of surviving the forces of voids and space... fascinating."

"You came here knowing I could exist within voids..." The figure before the cloaked demon was none other than Lucas. He narrowed his eyes at the cloaked figure. "To think that a demon would dare enter another's territory. It appears that the Emperor is truly growing weaker."

"Do not speak that way to someone you don't know!" the cloaked figure hissed. Lucas only snorted in response.

"Did you come here to fight or to talk?" Lucas raised an eyebrow.

"Fight?" the cloaked figure retorted. "I came to claim your body!" He didn't understand why someone as powerful as Lucas would linger on this continent, but he wasn't interested in finding out.

He simply wanted to take Lucas's body and offer it to the Lord. This man's body was already strong enough to endure the void, and he believed it could house the soul of an Archduke demon.

As he contemplated this, he swiftly moved toward Lucas. Like a dark blur, he appeared in front of him, aiming to finish what had just begun.

Voids are different dimensions, places created by beings as powerful as demon Emperors. Therefore, the demon never imagined that Lucas possessed the ability to create one. After all, he was residing in a continent where the strong did not typically thrive.

From the demon's perspective, Lucas must be someone hiding within a void who had accidentally stumbled upon the continent. Believing the humans in that land to be weak, he declared himself the dark lord and started terrorizing the world.

The demon had heard rumors about the legend of the dark lord but had never considered it real. He knew that the Goddess was merely a human who had sacrificed herself, and most of the tales about her were exaggerated and false. Why would he believe a random story about a dark lord capable of summoning beasts?

The only reason he recognized this dark lord was due to his distinct aura. Everyone had one, and this man reeked of malice and something even more sinister. If his hunch was correct, this Dark Lord must have come from another dimension, fleeing from something.

When he stumbled into this place, the Goddess's will or consciousness had still been alive, so she cursed him to remain in this place forever, sealing his abilities in the process. The demon couldn't confirm this, but he didn't care. The most important thing was defeating this 'dark lord' and taking his body.

To his surprise, however, the man in front of him vanished. "Were you not aware of the first rule of voids?" Lucas sneered, his tone dripping with mockery.

The demon immediately scanned his surroundings, his face twisted in frustration. However, it seemed that Lucas had completely disappeared. He couldn't even sense Lucas's presence.

"The owner of the void can control it," Lucas said his words almost in a whisper.

**BANG**

Something heavy struck the demon, and his body shot backward like an arrow. But before he could collide with something, another heavy object hit him, launching him in the opposite direction.

**BLARG**

Black liquid spilled from the demon's mouth.

"To think someone would be so foolish as to enter the void created by their enemy," Lucas mused. Until now, the demon couldn't even catch a glimpse of Lucas. All he could hear was the laughter echoing in the white space.

Slowly, a fog started to fill his vision. The demon struggled to his feet, his knees shaking. He gritted his teeth as he looked around, unable to find anyone in the void.

He took a deep breath before he conjured balls of dark magic floating around his body. Then he spread his hands and let the balls act as distractions, creating explosions all over the place before he escaped from the void.

"Since you're already here, don't even think of leaving," Lucas's voice echoed. "Eh?" Lucas paused as he realized that the demon had successfully fled. Soon enough, Lucas appeared inside the void, his face grim.

It was a powerful clone, powerful enough to deceive him.

Lucas snorted. The demon was foolish to think he could defeat Lucas within this place. In the void, Lucas could use all of his abilities. In this place, he was a god.

Hm? Suddenly, Lucas's heart raced. He looked south, furrowing his brow as he sensed a disturbance in the fabric of reality. In a flash, he vanished and reappeared in the heart of the Aster Empire, where a colossal portal dominated the sky.

It was a monstrous rift, an ominous tear in the very essence of space and time, large enough to swallow an entire kingdom.

The portal's dark maw swirled with an unnatural, malevolent energy, casting an eerie, sickly glow that tainted the surrounding sky. Its edges crackled with dark tendrils, like ghostly tentacles reaching out to trap anything foolish enough to come too close.

Chaos reigned in the vicinity of the portal. Howling winds and desperate cries filled the air.

Then Lucas saw who he was searching for.

It was Rosalind.

She stood not far from him, surrounded by dark, shadow-like winds that acted as a protective shield around her body. Her eyes were closed as she floated in the air. Seeing this, Lucas's eyes widened.

"What have you done!?" Lucas asked Belisarius, who was engaged in battle against the demons. Belisarius wielded a white sword, slaying demons all around him.

Like Rosalind, he too floated in the air, enveloped in white light. From a distance, he appeared pure, almost like a celestial who had descended from the heavens to aid humanity.

"Leave this place!" Belisarius's clear words interrupted Lucas. "She is awake."

"What?" Lucas turned to Rosalind, only to find her eyes open.

Instead of the golden orbs of the goddess, her eyes were completely black.
