Rosalind stared at the fireplace not too far away from her. In just a few hours, the meeting between the seven families was going to start, yet until now, Lucas was nowhere to be seen.

He softly nodded his head. "Except I never cared for anyone else."

So in the end, he never learned his lesson. He was still someone who would not burn himself to keep the village warm.

"Is that why you hated humans?" she asked.

"Humans are fickle. You give them an inch and they will ask for a mile. You save them once and they are going to expect you to save them over and over again." He turned his head towards her. "Do you think I am wrong?" he asked.

"Do you have any motive to keep me alive?" she asked. If she died then the soul of the goddess would die with her. Isn't that more convenient for someone who wants to live forever?

"The demonic liquid is going to kill normal humans, you are not one of them."
