Rise of the Harem King
Chapter 73: Dance of death

Chapter 73: Dance of death

After forcing her enemy to drop his sword, Sherazade also released her hands, then she aggressively advanced into hand-to-hand combat. For a moment, Davi thought the girl was crazy.

But as he was pressured by her quick movements, he soon understood that she was still taking that fight perfectly seriously. Her arms moved like snakes, ready to strike a fatal blow at any moment. And her kicks were so fast that her leg looked like a fierce whip.

Even when the boy managed to block the kicks, the pain still spread throughout his body. And, in the midst of an almost random dance, the woman managed to attack in an always unpredictable way. For a few moments, Davi couldn’t even make an attempt to react, being forced to take several steps back, until he was placed against a wall.

Davi felt the cold of the wall pressing against his back, remembering that there was nowhere else to retreat. His eyes fixed on Sherazade, who was advancing quickly. He knew that if he didn’t act quickly, he would be defeated.

Taking a deep breath, Davi channeled all his concentration. He could no longer afford to just react; he needed to adapt to the woman’s strange fighting style. There was no way she could be completely unpredictable.

And after desperately defending himself for a few more moments, he finally noticed a slight opening before she delivered a spinning kick. So he managed to send the girl flying away.

But Sherazarde got up in an instant, with an even bigger smile on her face. She couldn’t help but be impressed with how much that boy was able to adapt to her. "Let’s see if you can dodge this," she commented with a teasing tone, and in an instant, she was in front of the boy.

Then she spun in the air perfectly, wanting to hit a kick on his shoulder from top to bottom. An exaggeratedly extravagant blow, but so fast that it was almost impossible to try to dodge.

That’s why Davi didn’t dodge, he allowed her to hit him, but reacted in an instant, grabbing the woman by the neck. Then he tried to crush her trachea, but she managed to escape from his grip.

With that said, the boy still managed to throw his enemy to the ground, hurting her. This time, Sherazade took a bit longer to get up. And by the time she realized it, Davi was already standing in front of her.

She tried to push him away with a kick, but she couldn’t attack with the same speed as before. Because of this, the boy leaned to the side, narrowly avoiding the strike that cut through the air like a whip.

Taking advantage of her unbalanced state, Davi closed the distance between them. His right fist shot toward her abdomen, but Sherazade dodged with a smooth spin, almost as if she were dancing.

However, Davi wasn’t standing still. He used the momentum of his punch to pivot and launch an elbow strike toward her face. Sherazade blocked it with her forearm, but the force of the impact forced her to take a step back.

For the first time, Davi saw a spark of concern in the woman’s eyes. Her playful smile began to fade.

"You really have an impressive talent for adapting," she admitted in a whisper.

Then she lunged forward, unleashing a series of rapid strikes with her open hands, each one aimed at vital points. Davi moved like a shadow, dodging and blocking all of her attacks. He was starting to understand her rhythm, the deadly cadence behind her movements.

And in a moment of distraction, Davi grabbed her wrist mid-strike, pulling her forward. She lost her balance for a fraction of a second but used it to her advantage, spinning in the air and kicking toward his head. Davi ducked, feeling the wind of the kick pass over him, and countered with a punch straight to her stomach.

Sherazade let out a muffled grunt as she felt the impact, but she quickly recovered, grabbing Davi’s arm and twisting it into an arm lock. The pain was intense, but Davi didn’t give in. Instead, he used the motion to launch himself forward, slamming Sherazade against the wall with force.

Without giving her even a second to breathe, the boy lunged at her, landing a powerful blow to her stomach. Then he tightened his fists and continued punching her with all his strength.

For the first time, the woman’s blood truly painted the ground, as she was genuinely being pressured. But that woman always had a trick up her sleeve.

Suddenly, a wave of energy spread through her body, and for a moment, she became dozens of times faster. With this, she managed to escape the boy’s barrage of strikes and kicked him far away.

In the next instant, her body seemed to suffer, that was the price she had to pay for carelessly increasing her power.

Still, her opponent wasn’t doing much better. Breathing heavily, Davi felt pain radiating through his body. Sherazade’s last strike had been truly powerful.

The two stood still for a moment, breathing heavily, their eyes locked in a battle of determination. There was just one problem: in a battle of stamina, Davi would always be the one to lose.

Suddenly, he fell to his knees, his body heavy and his strength fading. Not only was the time limit for his ability running out, but the poison Sherazade had silently injected during her strikes was beginning to spread through his veins, sapping his endurance and leaving his legs shaky.

Each breath became more difficult, and the world around him seemed to spin as his consciousness struggled to hold on against the growing agony.

"You have impressive endurance..." she remarked with a sigh of admiration. "I didn’t expect it to take this long for the poison to take you down."

And Sherazade watched it all with a sadistic smile, but also a hint of relief. She had won the battle. Or at least she thought she had, after all, how could anyone get up after all that?

Not only was he injured and exhausted from the battle, his body was being destroyed from within by toxins. At that point, his organs were no longer functioning properly, his muscle fibers were breaking down.

In addition to all of this, the woman noticed that the boy used an absurd amount of mana and different skills, in particular transformations. And, naturally, all of this took a heavy toll on the body. Even without the toxins, he should have fallen soon.

However, contrary to everything, the boy began to slowly stand up. And, seeing this, Sherazarde laughed with some mockery. She was sure that this was a futile effort, she had already killed hundreds of people and knew that there were those who desperately tried to fight until the end.

That said, reality always prevailed over determination, which is why these people always ended up in a pathetic state.

The woman even considered leaving to find new enemies to kill, after all, that boy should have been completely destroyed by now.

But she stayed. And the reason for that was that suddenly her instincts warned her that something was wrong, and a genuine shiver ran down her spine.

She didn’t know how, and she didn’t even believe it was possible, but her soul was telling her that the boy would surpass expectations once again.

Suddenly, she noticed a dense and overwhelming amount of mana gathering around her enemy, like a storm about to unleash. For a moment, Sherazade’s heart raced, and a pang of worry shot through her mind.

That growing, intense, and threatening power seemed to defy logic, suggesting that even on the brink of collapse, Davi still held something dangerous. Her instincts screamed at her to act quickly, before it was too late.

She had no way of knowing at that moment, but a warning echoed in her enemy’s mind.

The ability <Love the King> had evolved once again.

"Okay, maybe this is dangerous..." she smiled confidently and lunged toward Davi.

Sherazade never finished off her prey because she enjoyed watching them agonize from her poison. But that day, she felt she needed to end that boy before he had a chance to get up.

However, it was already too late.

She tried to pierce his chest with a sharp strike, but to no avail, as the boy somehow dodged with absurd precision.

And when Sherazade looked into Davi’s eyes, she saw a deep murderous intent, mixed with an impressive wisdom.

What just happened? It’s like he’s a completely different person? She thought, then continued to attack her opponent with all her might.

No matter what had happened, there was no way he could get up. And trusting all the experiences she had up to that point, she kept attacking, while trying to push the fear out of her mind.

No matter what trick he has up his sleeve, I just need to decapitate him, and it will all be over. Sherazade thought and charged into the fight again.
