Rise of the Harem King
Chapter 72: Fight for revenge

Chapter 72: Fight for revenge

Davi was teleported by Cain to where Alexia and Sherazade were fighting. He had hoped to save her by doing so. But before his eyes, he saw that woman defeat his beloved and throw her into the crater.

Naturally, his chest filled with an indescribable rage. No matter how much Davi wanted to, he couldn’t fight calmly.

"What’s wrong, hero? Are you upset that you arrived too late?" Seeing the man’s rage, Sherazade smiled gracefully and greeted him.

"I’m going to kill you," the man said, his eyes filled with an indescribable fury.

Then he activated all the transformations he could at once. His muscles screamed in pain, pushed to their limits, but the boy didn’t care in the slightest. He needed to kill that woman and he would use all the power he had to that.

He gripped his sword firmly, flames enveloping his body. Dragon scales covered his body, and his gaze became as furious as a wild beast’s as he charged into the attack.

He moved in an instant, missing the woman’s neck by mere inches. Surprised, Sherazade did her best to dodge the initial strikes.

Then she decided to draw the second sword she carried on her back, using it to block the boy’s attack at the last second. Noticing how strong of an opponent Davi would be, Sherazade got a wild smile on her face...

Still, she was sent flying backward by the sheer force of his sword swing. And in the next moment, she felt her chest cut open again by an <Air Slash>.

But this time, she didn’t even have time to be surprised, because in the next instant, her opponent was in front of her, ready to slice her neck off.

She managed to dodge the first strike of his sword but was caught off guard when Davi summoned another blade in his left hand. He moved swiftly, driving the sword into the woman’s stomach.

Of course, he didn’t give her time to rest and created the densest sword he could, copying Sylvia’s technique.

Sherazade, who didn’t understand the technique, tried to block the strike with her two swords but was overwhelmed by the force of the blow. She felt her arms tremble for a moment, and her swords were nearly shattered.

Still, she managed to deflect the strike and took a few steps back. But in that instant, she saw that the boy had already created a new weapon, and now several arrows were flying toward her.

She easily dodged the arrows and defended against the boy’s next strike but was caught off guard when a giant bird attacked her from the sky.

How many different abilities does he have? She wondered as she sliced the annoying creature in half.

However, the brief moment of distraction was enough for the boy to close in fatally, and he nearly decapitated her.

"You always aim to kill, don’t you, boy?" she replied lightly, finally managing to create some distance from the boy’s relentless barrage of attacks.

Naturally, Davi didn’t even bother responding and simply tried to press forward for another attack, but Sherazade maintained her distance.

The truth was, his body was beginning to falter after that overwhelming sequence of strikes. That’s why Davi could no longer maintain the same pace.

It was good to finally have a moment to breathe. And from that point on, Sherazade decided to take the initiative. After all, it wasn’t her style to simply defend or dodge attacks.

Sherazade accelerated towards her opponent, her expression gleaming with a strong murderous desire.

Then she brandished her sword fiercely, forcing David to defend himself. But it didn’t take long for the boy to get used to the woman’s speed. Then he began to defend himself more easily.

Finally, the moment for a counterattack came. In a risky move, the boy took a step to the side, dodging the woman’s blow. Then he spun in a perfect movement, cutting the woman’s stomach in half, but...

It was almost as if there was nothing there.

The boy’s sword passed through the woman in an instant, almost as if he were cutting through a cloud. Then her image dissolved in the air, turning into smoke.

And suddenly, David felt a blade pierce his body from behind. Luckily, he managed to react at the last second, causing the woman to pierce his shoulder instead of his chest.

"I have my tricks too, boy," Sherazade said with a sadistic smile. Then she quickly liked the blood of her blade she had just used to attack the man.

Then, when Davi turned to retaliate, once again he hit only the woman’s residual image, which dissolved into a mist.

This time he reacted much faster, preventing her from stabbing him in the back. He wouldn’t fall for the same trick twice.

"I see you have good instincts," Sherazade said in an animated tone, as she enjoyed the fight.

David advanced once more, only to hit a residual image again. But this time he quickly took a step back, then brandished his sword towards where there apparently was nothing.

However, instead of cutting through the air, his sword was stopped, as the metallic sound of blades colliding echoed throughout the battlefield.

"Oh! I see you’ve already figured out the trick," Sherazade said with an amused tone.

Next, Davi saw the image of countless Sherazade appearing around him. But which one was real?

Her ability seemed to be some kind of illusion, creating images made of mist or something similar. Additionally, she could turn invisible, allowing her to attack him by surprise.

That said, the fake images weren’t real people. They made no sound, had no weight, they were just illusions.

Therefore, to face her, he knew he couldn’t rely on his eyes. After all, his vision was the only sense being deceived by that strange power.

If it weren’t for the beast transformation Davi had borrowed from Lara, he would probably have been finished. After all, Sherazade was already absurdly silent, making it truly difficult to hear her footsteps.

Still, thanks to his heightened senses, he managed. So Davi closed his eyes and focused entirely on his hearing, but...

He struggled at first, and Sherazade managed to cut him multiple times. However, given the girl’s personality, none of the strikes were fatal.

That didn’t change the fact that she slowly wore him down, especially since her blades were poisoned thanks to her <Poison> ability, which coated any weapon she used with venom.

But Davi finally found what he was looking for. The girl could try to hide her footsteps and be absolutely silent, but she couldn’t stop the beating of her own heart.

After a while, Davi finally managed to filter out the other sounds around him, and suddenly everything became clearer.

He knew exactly when that woman was approaching. And with that, he began to fight back.

Suddenly, the tide of the battle shifted once again, as the boy began to even the odds, managing to dodge the girl’s attacks. In particular, she seemed slightly slower while using that ability. Perhaps that was some kind of drawback of her power?

Davi didn’t care about the reason, but after pinpointing her location, the boy became able to predict her movements. With a quick step to the left, he dodged one of her strikes.

Then, he slashed through the air, trying to hit her. She dodged, but still ended up being struck by the <Air Slash>.

Without giving his opponent even a moment to breathe, Davi charged like a bullet toward the woman. He swung his sword furiously, forcing Sherazade to block with both of her blades.

But she didn’t even have time to breathe, as Davi landed a solid kick right to her stomach. Next, he activated <Ifrit>. Obviously, using yet another transformation on top of the ones he had already activated pushed his body to its limits, but he didn’t care in the slightest.

Then, engulfing his blade in flames, he charged forward in an instant, attacking the woman with relentless fury. Sherazade was quickly pressed against a wall.

All she could do was let out a frustrated sigh, realizing her plan had completely failed. Clearly, that ability was no longer working.

"Seems like it’s useless trying to deceive you," she said with a wicked smile.

Suddenly, all the illusions she had created vanished. But Davi, who still had his eyes closed, didn’t even notice.

"You’re quite impressive," she admitted. "Besides, it wouldn’t be any fun if you couldn’t see the beautiful woman who will bring about your end."

She said this, then lunged forward with absurd speed, much faster than before, and made her blades dance, unleashing a flurry of strikes until she forced Davi to drop his sword.

However, instead of continuing to use her blades, once she disarmed the boy, she also tossed aside her swords and shifted to hand-to-hand combat.

"Now, let me show you another trick," she announced with an excited tone. The her eyes glowed with desire for blood.
