Rise of the Harem King
Chapter 71: Fight to the death

Chapter 71: Fight to the death

After the failed attempt to kill Cain, Sherazade prepared to hunt down the students, as she wanted to enjoy some good fights. She was someone who lived for the thrill of a fight that put her between life and death.

Because of this, the girl walked through the rift, starting in the forest where the low-rank student group was. And quickly, she marked all the weakest with her poisoning ability. Then she declared in a powerful voice:

"Okay, everyone who is marked has 30 seconds to disappear from my sight, or I will kill you without hesitation."

She said this and immediately cut off Hao’s arm, because he had the look of someone who intended to resist.

"Don’t even try to stay here, you’ll just get in the way." And after all that display of brutality, the students finally fled.

Then the woman turned to the three remaining. But seeing how Marc was far below the other two, she kicked him away.

"Since people fight better when motivated, I’ll warn you. That mark is a poison, so if you don’t kill me today, they will all die." She said, but Sherazade herself didn’t know how many hours each would last. The mark was stronger in lower-level people and stopped working above a certain level.

"Now come and face me." She said, unable to contain her excitement.

With no other option, Alden and Alexia prepared for a life-or-death combat. Then, like lightning, Sherazade charged.

Alden reacted instinctively, trying to raise his defenses and place himself between her and Alexia. However, his barriers were shattered like glass, effortlessly pierced.

Before he could even understand what was happening, Alden felt a sharp pain: one of Sherazade’s blades had pierced his stomach. She was too fast for his eyes to follow, and the blow happened in the blink of an eye.

But Alden wouldn’t waste that opportunity. Even with the pain tearing through his body, he used every remaining ounce of strength to grab the woman’s arms the moment she hit him. If he was going to fall, he would take her with him.

Alexia reacted quickly, understanding her friend’s intention, so she stepped forward and tried to attack Sherazade with a <Moon Slash>.

She aimed for Sherazade’s neck, then, with an agile movement, spun in the air, her blade cutting through space with deadly speed. The blow came fast, the blade almost reaching the woman’s skin.

But Sherazade maintained a confident smile, watching everything as if impressed and amused.

Then, with a quick movement, she managed to break free from Alden’s grip, dodging the attack by a hair’s breadth. The blade grazed her neck, cutting only the air as she moved away, managing to avoid the fatal blow at the last second.

Even so, Alexia wouldn’t let her escape easily, and her blade cut through the air furiously. Sherazade believed she had dodged the blows, only to be caught off guard, as the woman’s <Air Slash> opened a large wound on her chest.

Despite her devastating attack power and speed, the woman didn’t have the best defense. Therefore, simple blows caused a lot of damage.

"How impressive," Sherazade couldn’t contain her own smile as she felt the pain spread through her body.

This was how battles should be. She couldn’t even describe the pleasure of knowing her life was at risk.

Moreover, this was how a good prey should be. She could see in Alexia’s eyes that the woman was willing to fight to the end. It was no wonder she was already advancing towards her, intending to take advantage of the moment of weakness.

But that was useless, as Sherazade could easily dodge her blows. And after the initial sweat, she became able to easily dodge any of the girl’s attacks.

To make matters worse, her wound began to close slowly, as the woman had a regeneration ability, in addition to her absurd speed.

Alden was already too injured to try to do anything. Especially since that woman was so fast. Still, he attempted to join the fight, albeit futilely. And as the battle dragged on, his blood loss grew worse and worse.

Not only that, but the woman, torturing the two of them sadistically, never delivered fatal blows. In particular, she continued to cut Alexia in a long sequence of strikes. Some of those cuts were laced with poison.

The woman simply wanted to see how long their resolve to fight would last. And, to her surprise, it lasted quite a while. Despite all their injuries, they kept getting up and trying to attack once more.

Naturally, this made an even wider smile spread across the girl’s lips, as she was thoroughly enjoying the spectacle.

That said, in the end, Alden was the first to fall, unable to face that woman any longer. He passed out from blood loss.

Seeing her friend fall, Alexia’s heart filled with rage. Moreover, realizing she would soon die if things continued this way, she desperately tried to launch an aggressive attack. But her anger didn’t strengthen her, it only clouded her judgment.

"If you don’t calm down, you won’t achieve anything, girl," Sherazade said in a disdainful tone, giving combat advice as if Alexia were merely a child with no real chance of hurting her.

Then, with surprising grace, Sherazade began to dance between the attacks, moving with impressive agility. Each step seemed more like a choreographed movement than a fight, as if she were toying with her opponent.

And with that, she made it abundantly clear that Alexia stood no chance against her. No matter how hard she tried, Alexia couldn’t even come close to landing a hit.

"Come on, don’t disappoint me. I know you’re a better swordsman than this," the woman said, lunging forward and slashing Alexia’s stomach in a swift strike.

Alexia nearly fell to her knees but forced herself to stay upright somehow, trying to resist the woman. That said, with each passing moment, it became clearer that she had no chance against her opponent.

"Looks like you’ve lost all hope," Sherazade said in a disappointed tone before driving a swift kick into her opponent’s gut.

As she approached with deliberately seductive steps, the woman praised Alexia for lasting so long. Then she sighed deeply.

"It’s a shame it ended so quickly. I was having fun. But I see you can’t fight anymore."

After saying this, Sherazade lunged forward furiously, intending to kill her opponent, as the fight was no longer entertaining.

Alexia tried to defend herself against her opponent’s furious strikes, but the poison, exhaustion, and sheer force gradually pushed her to the brink.

Then she made a mistake.

A slightly imprecise movement. And even that small opening was enough for Sherazade to deliver a deep cut to her thigh.

But Alexia was lucky to dodge at the last second, or her chest would have been torn open in the attack.

Her enemy didn’t give her a single moment to recover. Alexia tried to defend herself as best she could, but her sword was knocked away, landing a few meters from her.

In addition, small cuts spread across her body, preventing her from moving properly.

"You fought like a true warrior, girl," Sherazade said, licking her lips. Her eyes were like those of a predator staring at its prey. "I’m sorry, but there’s nowhere left for you to run."

The woman approached with slow steps, as behind Alexia was the abyss leading to the forgotten temple’s lower floor. She had no more room to retreat.

At that moment, all that was left for her was to accept death. As she saw Sherazade’s sword approaching, Alexia steeled her resolve. If she were to die, she wanted to find a way to at least take that woman with her.

Just as Sherazade’s sword was about to cut her neck, she prepared to explode all the mana contained within her, but...

Davi appeared at the last minute and charged furiously towards Sherazade. Using all his power at once, his acceleration was absurd.

Seeing this, the woman inevitably had to turn to defend herself. Still, proving her ability as a fighter, she managed to block the boy’s blow with her left arm, causing his sword to become embedded in it.

"Oh! How amazing, a hero who appears at the last minute..."

Then she quickly spun, throwing Davi away, and with the same circular motion, she completed the blow she had already intended to give.

Her blade grazed Alexia’s neck, but continued diagonally, opening her chest and splitting her heart in half.

"Sorry, but I always finish my job."

She turned to face Davi with a sadistic smile looking over her face. She had the eyes of a predator, as she looked to Davi as the next pray on her manu.

At the same time, Alexia’s body fell into the abyss, her eyes already lifeless. It was impossible for her to survive that fall alone.

"I’ll kill you," Davi just said, as rage took over his body.
