Rise of the Harem King -
Chapter 70: Descendant
Chapter 70: Descendant
From the shadows of the forest, among the twisted trees, emerged a colossal orc, his body covered in scars and grotesquely defined muscles.
Unlike the others, this one carried an oppressive presence. His wild eyes gleamed with fury as he raised his weapon: a huge rusty axe. Then, as soon as he saw Davi, he let out a deafening roar that echoed through the forest, making even the branches tremble.
Without wasting time, the monster charged like an uncontrollable beast, each step shaking the ground, his fierce charge meant to crush Davi in a single brutal blow.
The boy could barely stand, as he felt his energy completely draining away. Still, he forced himself to stand with a cry.
With great effort, he managed to focus for an instant to aim with his gun. Then he pulled the trigger and felt all his strength drain from his body.
Still, the projectile traveled fiercely through the air and, in an instant, it perfectly hit the center of the orc’s skull.
For an instant, the monster took another step, as if his body refused to fall. His eyes widened in shock, the axe slipped from his giant fingers, and then, with a dull thud, he toppled forward, dead before even touching the ground.
"Did I defeat him?" Davi wondered as he felt the tension in his body gradually subside and he could finally breathe a little more calmly.
Thinking about it, the weapon in theory should be able to kill any enemy as long as he hit a vital point, but he didn’t expect it to work.
Maybe it was just instinct telling him things wouldn’t be that easy, this was the final boss, after all. But that weapon was undeniably powerful, even considering the fact that it was slowly draining his energy.
And speaking of that, Davi felt like he was about to faint at any moment. But before everything went dark around him, the weapon disappeared from his hand and he managed to breathe for a second.
’Oops, you almost died...’
The voice echoed in Davi’s mind with a friendly, carefree tone, completely at odds with the sheer terror of its words.
’If a human holds that gun for too long, they die.’
’Sorry for the delay, I was dealing with a small problem.’
’But don’t worry, I’ll restore your life energy in a moment...’
’Crap! I have to go. After giving you your reward for completing the test... By the way, congratulations on completing the test!’
After hearing these confusing words, Davi was enveloped by a warm and pleasant energy, feeling his body gradually recover. His strength returned, and the pain vanished from his body as his energy was restored.
Not only that, but once again, he felt completely refreshed, almost as if he had gotten a full day’s rest. Because of this, he could use <Love the King> freely again.
That regeneration power Gilg had was truly convenient. Davi thought about all the things he could do if he had something like that.
Then he was surrounded by a bright light and teleported back to the room where he had first met Sylvia.
However, no matter how much he looked around, he couldn’t find any trace of the girl. Instead, his gaze settled on a hooded man standing there. And though he didn’t know the man’s name, he immediately recognized him: he was part of the group that had attacked them as soon as they entered the rift.
Trembling at the thought that this man might be an enemy and could have done something to Sylvia, Davi immediately acted.
Davi didn’t waste any time. As soon as his eyes locked onto the hooded man, his body moved on instinct. In the blink of an eye, he used <Create> to summon a sword in his hand and charged at the man.
Cain barely had time to react as a kick struck his stomach. He nearly died as the boy swung his sword for the first time. After all, Cain wasn’t a fighter.
"Wait!" The hooded man raised his hands in surrender. "I don’t intend to fight." As he said this, he prepared an escape spell just in case.
Davi didn’t lower his sword. His gaze narrowed, and he remained ready to decapitate the man at any moment.
"Then tell me where Sylvia is before I change my mind."
The man sighed, maintaining his calm demeanor despite the mortal threat. "You could at least lower that sword. It’s hard to talk like this," the man complained.
Davi growled in frustration, "If you don’t want to fight, then start talking. Now."
"I can’t give you an exact answer. But she is alive," the man pointed to the altar where Davi had previously touched the crystal orb that had drawn him in.
There, two powerful flames danced. One had a grayish hue, while the other glowed in a strange pink tone.
"You’ve been marked by the temple," Cain said, avoiding further explanation. "So these flames represent your lives. If hers is still burning, it means the girl is still alive and inside the rift."
Then the man theorized that either the girl had been sent to another part of the temple after completing the test, or she was still trapped in the test. Either way, she was definitely alive.
"How do you know all this?"
"I’m not going to tell you," Cain took a step back. "Just so you know, I can escape at any moment. The only reason I haven’t is because I want to cooperate with you. But I don’t intend to give you more information than necessary."
"And why should I trust you?"
"You shouldn’t," Cain said honestly. Then he snapped his fingers, and shadows emerged from his body, coalescing into the shape of a sphere. "But I recommend you take a look at this first."
The completely dark sphere began to emit a faint glow, and Davi saw an image form. There, he could see Alexia fighting desperately against a woman he didn’t recognize.
"Who the hell is she?" Davi asked, his irritation clear.
"She’s the assassin hired to kill Sophia," Cain said, but noticing the surprise in the boy’s eyes, he realized he had said too much. Not wanting to give any more information, he simply said, "For various reasons, she wants to kill her, so I can help you defeat her."
Davi stared at the man suspiciously, but still allowed him to continue with his plan. Then Cain went straight to the point:
"I can send you to where she is. Honestly, I have no idea how to defeat her, and I think you’re going to die. But if you want to try to save your friend, I’ll be happy to help you. After all, I also want to get rid of that woman. So, tell me, what do you think?"
Cain didn’t try to be particularly convincing because he felt he needed to be as honest as possible, so Davi would at least trust him a little.
"It’s not like I have a choice," Davi sighed, seeing the scene. "Send me to her," he said in a firm voice.
Seeing this, the man smiled maliciously, then wished Davi the best of luck. Then he touched the boy’s shoulder, and shadows enveloped him.
This time he didn’t see a bright light, but absolute darkness. And the next instant, Davi was facing the battle between Sherazade and Alexia.
Meanwhile, Cain decided to go his own way, wanting to stay as far away from there as possible. He thought Davi’s chance of killing that woman was close to zero, so he needed to flee that place as soon as possible.

Sylvia woke up slowly, her vision still blurry as she tried to get her bearings. The environment around her was strangely serene, bathed in a soft, golden light that seemed to emanate from all directions.
She stood up carefully as she tried to understand where she was. Then, in the distance, she saw a monstrous figure emerging from a golden mist.
She couldn’t even comprehend that being, which had an immense dragon body. However, from that body seemed to emerge endless snake heads that twisted and hissed in all directions.
The heads moved chaotically for a while, until their eyes slowly focused on the human who had entered their realm.
"Oh! Who would have thought, one of my descendants was the first to find me," As one of the snake heads approached the woman, Sylvia heard these words resonate in her mind.
Not understanding anything, the girl just remained silent, as she tried to understand the scene before her.
"Furthermore, I see that you are a talented descendant. Very well, I like you. Hey, girl, would you be interested in obtaining the sacred ark?"
"Sacred ark?" Sylvia asked in confusion.
"I see you know nothing. If I were to summarize in human terms, it is an object that grants you a wish."
Another snake head approached Sylvia, then she heard a different voice resonate. "And if you agree to become my follower, I can offer you this powerful object."
Another head approached, "It’s a beautiful proposal, don’t you think? I just need you to pledge loyalty to me."
Sylvia was still confused about everything, but upon hearing about pledging loyalty, she quickly needed to make something clear.
"I’m sorry, but I already have a master."
"What do you mean? You speak of that human, how dare you place a mortal above me? I expected more from one of my daughters!" One of the heads said, its eyes turning crimson red.
Suddenly, several of the being’s snake heads approached the girl, and some even began to fight among themselves. But most agreed to kill Sylvia for her insolence. So she was enveloped and slowly crushed by the snakes.
And that would have been her end if another god hadn’t intervened.
"Wait, aunt, I can’t allow this aggressive behavior," And for the first time, Sylvia was happy to hear that unnecessarily cheerful voice. "They are the first visitors we’ve had in so long, so be courteous to them. You know nothing about how to treat guests!" The man complained.
