Chapter 118: Tidying up the lab
Ange stabilized the situation on her workbench and, without wasting time, restarted the experiment. After remembering the experiment she was conducting, her curiosity was reignited, and she refocused all her attention on it.
The girl then picked up a glass vial containing a shimmering liquid and poured it into a small cauldron. However, it wasn’t long before the disorganization of the workbench began to hinder her.
"I swear I left it here somewhere... Where is that essence of hellfire wolves?" She muttered to herself, her eyes frantically scanning the cluttered workbench.
Like all people who claim to understand their own mess, Ange soon got lost. After all, the clutter was a big problem.
Davi found it a little amusing to watch her rummage through the room from top to bottom to find a component or piece of equipment she needed. That said, he couldn’t help but sigh, thinking about the work he would have later to organize everything.
Clearly, that woman needed someone to help her get organized.
That said, despite everything, she managed to get things done little by little and found the materials she needed. However, Davi soon noticed something very important about Ange: that girl couldn’t stay doing the same thing for 5 minutes.
And, often, her haste and desire to speed up the processes of her experiment caused explosions for a very idiotic reason: mana overload.
When applying too much mana to an object or liquid that is not capable of absorbing it, it tends to explode.
Of course, someone as brilliant as her knew very well that she shouldn’t apply mana faster than stipulated. However, that doesn’t mean she knew how to count. Her impatience made her mismeasure.
Anyway, it was fun to watch her work. Therefore, Davi remained silent for a while, knowing that sooner or later he would have to intervene, otherwise she would repeat the same experiment for hours without noticing the error.
"Wait, if you try to speed things up, it’s going to cause problems again," Davi said in a firm tone, reprimanding the girl.
As amusing as it was to watch her, if he wanted things to work in that lab, he needed Ange to be a little less disorganized.
"You’re right!" Ange realized the mistake she was making. "I’m sorry, I’m terrible with details," her shoulders slumped, and she admitted that fact.
"Indeed, you’re a disaster, but..." Davi said, which immediately made the girl look down sadly.
It was precisely because she was so chaotic that no one was willing to work with her. Well, there were some other political reasons, but she hadn’t realized that.
Davi approached Ange.
"The problem isn’t just that you’re clumsy. First, how do you expect to get everything right in such a disorganized place?"
The boy slowly looked around, his eyes scanning the entire small room. Ange’s eyes followed him, and she could only remain silent; there was no denying that the place was a mess.
"There’s no way things will flow well if you’re constantly focusing your attention on finding where you left this or that. You being clumsy is inevitable, but you could at least improve your situation instead of making it worse, don’t you think?"
Like a repentant dog, she lowered her ears and looked at the floor cutely. She even tried to formulate a counter-response, but in the end, there was no denying that the place was an absolute mess.
"To begin with, let’s organize this place."
"But..." She was still showing some resistance, after all, she hated organizing things.
"Don’t be childish," Davi smiled gently and touched her shoulder. "Besides, I’ll help you; it won’t be that bad. I’m sure you’d like to improve your results."
Ange thought for a moment, but there was nothing to reflect on; Davi was undoubtedly right.
"Okay, I’ll do my best!" She finally agreed.
So they began to organize the laboratory, a task that proved even more arduous than Davi imagined.
The number of things she had managed to cram into that small room was simply impressive. Davi even began to believe she had space-time warping powers; only that could explain it.
"This is useless, let’s throw it away," he said, discarding the remnants of a wolf king’s cores, which were far too old to be used.
The worst part about cleaning things with that woman was her attachment to objects. She simply wouldn’t agree to throw anything away, no matter how useless it was.
The second big problem was the fact that she was a disaster. Davi was genuinely afraid that she would end up breaking everything in that room at some point...
And it was just as he had these pessimistic thoughts that he saw her trying to reach something on a high shelf. For this task, she decided to lean on some books stacked on the floor.
Obviously, Davi’s first reaction to that scene was to rush towards the girl; it was obvious she was going to fall. And, as expected, she fell.
It all started when Ange knocked over a glass vial she was trying to grab. She, in an idiotic reflex, tried to catch it but ended up losing her balance even more. Everything happened in an instant.
Davi threw himself forward, trying to prevent her from falling, but with an awkward movement, he ended up falling with her. The speed at which everything happened left him a little disoriented.
When he realized it, his hand was enveloped in a very pleasant and somewhat familiar softness.
He was surrounded by that warmth, the source of which he couldn’t quite figure out. And, taking advantage of his confused state, Davi decided to grab as much as he could of that mysterious source of heat.
His fingers dug into the girl’s soft breast, his skillful fingers quickly attacking her nipples, stimulating her and causing an intense heat to spread through her body.
In response, Ange couldn’t help but let out a soft sigh, which sounded more like a moan laden with desire. Their eyes met, then she smiled slightly and said in a sweet tone:
"Ahn! I’m sorry, but don’t you think that’s already a bit much?"
"I’m sorry." Davi quickly backed away, realizing that what he had grabbed were the girl’s breasts.
Perhaps in an instinctive reaction, the boy ended up grabbing them. He was so used to attacking his girlfriends’ breasts, that his body acted out of habit.
Especially when he woke up in the same bed as them. But none of that mattered.
"It’s okay, accidents happen." Luckily, Ange just smiled embarrassedly and excused him.
She didn’t seem at all annoyed, just a little embarrassed. And soon she bowed slightly and also apologized for having fallen in that way, causing the accident.
"It’s no problem, but be a little more careful. If there’s something you can’t reach, you can just ask me to get it," Davi said, also a little embarrassed.
"Okay..." the girl replied in a low tone.
For a moment, the two decided to just turn their attention to the work they were doing.
Ange pretended not to notice Davi’s enormous erection, which unfortunately couldn’t be hidden. And she also ignored the fact that a strange warmth was enveloping her body.
At the same time, the boy was relieved that Ange didn’t complain about the fact that he had clearly groped her breasts and even attacked her nipples.
He was also surprised to notice how delicious his professor’s curves were. Her loose clothes hid her figure, but she undoubtedly had an excellent body.
But that wasn’t the time to think about that. Maybe he would try to seduce her in the future, but not like that.
Anyway, focused on their work, the two managed to make good progress. Piles of dusty equipment were moved, vials of mysterious ingredients were cataloged, and the floor, previously covered by a layer of indistinguishable debris, began to show signs of cleanliness.
After more than an hour of constant work, the laboratory already looked significantly less chaotic. There was still a bit to be done, but Davi had almost finished his work, and besides, it was already late.
"I think we’ve done enough for today," he said, looking around with an expression of satisfaction.
"Yes, finally," Ange collapsed onto the floor, exhausted, upon hearing that. "I couldn’t take cleaning anymore, I thought you were going to make me work to death!" she complained.
The uncomfortable atmosphere between them had already faded.
Hearing that, Davi laughed lightly. If anyone heard that, they would inevitably find it absurd, after all, how was an assistant bossing around his research supervisor? And even making her work non-stop.
"But you can go ahead, I still want to write down today’s results," Ange said.
"As you prefer," Davi agreed.
Then he walked towards the laboratory exit. Unfortunately, he didn’t even have the chance to talk to the girl about the research, but he had done a good job.
Then, when he opened the door, his eyes met blue eyes and a face that looked identical to Sylvia’s, but a little older.
"I’ve been waiting to talk to you," the woman said in a cold tone.
