Chapter 162: Academy Competition 8: You Are My Chosen

Chapter 162: Academy Competition 8: You Are My Chosen

"Wow... She called that her weakest beast!"

"Then what if she brought out her strongest? Can Advika win?"

"I don’t know... Let’s watch."

The Vitality Academy students were consumed by doubt, while the Guardian Academy erupted in cheers.

"Go, Tori! You can do it!"

"Yes! Show them what you’ve got!"

"The Vitality Academy should know they’ll only be behind us! Because we are the greatest!"

"Yes!"

"Defeat her!"

Tori smiled at her classmates’ words, then turned to Advika, a frown creasing her brow. "Why aren’t you summoning your beasts?" she asked, mildly confused.

"I don’t need a beast to face you," Advika stated arrogantly, stunning everyone. If this declaration had come from Christopher, they would have understood, but from Advika? The entire audience was lost.

Advika flicked her wrist, and before everyone’s eyes, fire rose from the ground, coalescing into the forms of Christopher’s three Sky Stage beasts. But these fiery renditions were noticeably weaker.

"You?!" Tori was flabbergasted.

GRAAAAAAA!!

The three 10-meter-tall beasts behind Advika let out furious roars, then dissolved into flames, merging with the flaming sword that formed in her palm.

"You think I’m scared of you?!" Tori yelled, her voice filled with defiance. "All of you, come out!"

WHOOSH!

Two more lights flew from her earrings, taking the form of a huge black bear and a silver Yeti.

"These two are both Mythical Stage beasts! Each has the combat strength of Lv8! Do you still think you’ll win??" Tori laughed, a triumphant sound.

"Hahaha!"

Advika also burst out laughing, her laughter so loud it reverberated all over the arena, plunging everyone into silence. Even Tori stopped laughing, staring at Advika as if she had grown two heads.

"Why are you laughing?!" Tori screamed in rage.

Advika stopped, fixing her gaze on Tori. "You know... In the past, I would be scared of these beasts! But the beasts I have seen these past two days in the red zone... These guys can’t hold a candle to them."

Advika pointed her flaming sword at Tori. "If you really like your beasts, take them back and surrender... Or I won’t guarantee they won’t leave here unscratched," she advised.

"You! You dare look down on me! Firstly, that werewolf, or whatever she is! And now you! I will show everyone I can’t be looked down on!" Tori yelled in rage, and roared, "All of you! Use your ultimate skills!"

Hearing Tori’s command to her beasts, everyone’s faces changed slightly. Ultimate skills were the primary attack of any beast, possessing the power to kill another beast at the same stage! Now, she was asking them to attack a human with such a skill?

"Commander, shouldn’t we interfere?" the governor asked, her face filled with worry.

"No... Tori knows the rule. If she kills this girl, her team will be disqualified... She won’t want that," the commander said, staring at Advika. "I am confused," he added, turning to the governor. "Why isn’t this girl moving?"

The governor turned to Advika and nodded. "I get your point. Apart from the beasts she created, which then merged with her sword, she hasn’t made a move."

"Let’s wait and see her plan," Zenith said calmly.

"What does she mean by ’the beasts she has seen in the red zone’?!" Amara asked, turning to Ethan.

"I don’t know," Ethan answered, his face filled with confusion.

"She has only been with Christopher, training together... Wait!" Amara’s eyes widened in shock. "Are these two training in the red zone?!"

".....!!" Ethan was speechless.

On the Dean’s platform, no one uttered a word. The winner of this battle was completely undecided. No one wanted to be arrogant, only to be slapped in the face.

So the whole arena watched as the beasts concentrated all their energy towards one blast, all aimed at Advika, who stood perfectly still.

"Won’t she do anything?!" Mariana asked in confusion.

"There is no need for that," Christopher said in a calm tone, his gaze fixed on Advika.

Advika stared at the beasts for some seconds, then closed her eyes, entering her consciousness.

_

Advika appeared in an open space and raised her head to the huge goddess staring down at her, her flaming red eyes fixed on Advika’s.

’I know you can hear me! I wish to use your powers for a moment,’ Advika said, staring at the goddess.

The huge goddess, standing almost 70 feet tall, only smirked. "Why don’t you let me out and let everyone see what you can achieve?" She paused, then added, "These two past days... You discovered something but refused to tell your companion, right?"

Advika frowned. "He is my teacher, not my companion."

"Oh... Keep telling yourself that. A time will come you will admit to it," the goddess said.

Advika was speechless, but then yelled, "Stop playing around, and get serious."

"First, what did you discover?" the goddess asked.

"I... I discovered I can use your powers by asking for your permission... And attacking you won’t make any difference," Advika admitted.

"Oh, child."

The goddess reduced in size, turning into a normal human height, and stared at Advika. "I chose you not because of your strength? Or your will... Or your heart."

She waved her hand, and a mirror appeared before them, showing Advika a raging inferno. "Fire is one of the strongest element spirits in the world. We are strong enough to control anything that has our properties..." She smiled and turned to Advika, whose gaze was fixed on the mirror.

"You know, child... Your ’teacher’ has my sister’s spirit in her... Half-sister... But she is still my sister... But you aren’t like your master." She took a step backward, staring at Advika. "The flames don’t fear anything, or anyone. We consume everything in our path until we get to the finish line. Nothing stopped me, and nothing will stop you! When the great war occurs, the other spirit souls were shattered, but I stood my ground! I fought the urge, and then I located you... You became my vessel... You, dear, saved my life."

Advika turned to her in confusion. "How?" she asked.

"If I hadn’t found you! My soul would have shattered... I could stand so long because I was corrupted by the darkness... That’s why, when I took over, you lost control and burnt down the entire village. And your father..." She paused and changed the subject. "I want you to keep on attacking me with your life force."

".....?"

Advika was getting confused, but the goddess smiled. "You aren’t hurting me, but the darkness in me... As you succeed along the way, you will unlock more of my powers! Which will help you grow stronger."

She turned her head to the mirror, and Advika followed her gaze.

"....?!"

She was dumbfounded, seeing a lady hovering above the inferno. "Never surrender, child, never... Now go back, you have a competition to win... Remember, you are my chosen."

Advika stared at the goddess as she slowly disappeared.

___

"Attack!" Tori yelled, and the three beasts unleashed three beams of pure light energy towards Advika.

"What is your sister doing?! If she kills that girl! We are disqualified!" Zack hissed in a low voice.

"She won’t kill her," Tony answered, his gaze calm.

WHOOSH!!

The three beasts moved with terrifying speed towards Advika, who remained standing, her eyes closed.

"What are you doing?! Dodge!" Mariana yelled in mild horror.

"Dodge!"

"Get out of the way!"

"Move!"

All the Vitality Academy students yelled, including Chloe, Adonis, and Katherine, all urging Advika to move.

Everyone watched with horrified gazes as the three attacks smashed into Advika. The resulting wave pushed all the contestants back, but Christopher and Tony remained still; the two didn’t even move an inch.

’Is she dead?’ Tori thought in mild horror, not expecting the explosion to be so large.

"Is this what you call an attack?!"

"....?!!"

"....!!!!!"

The whole arena, including Christopher and Tony, were dumbfounded.

They all stared as Advika walked out from the flames, not a single scratch on her. Her clothes were all intact, none burnt.

"You called that an attack?" she repeated, walking towards Tori and her beasts, dragging her flaming sword behind her, leaving burnt marks on the ground.

"Mythical Stage beasts are indeed powerful... But using such an attack against me is completely useless."

Advika gripped her sword. "Let me show you what a real attack looks like!"

She raised her sword into the air, and before everyone’s eyes, a huge goddess spirit appeared behind her, holding a long sword.

"Is that?!" Both Tiamat and Christopher muttered in shock.

"This?!" The temperature in the arena instantly became unstable, and was still steadily rising. Sweat appeared on all the audience’s faces as the heat intensified.

"Today! I will show you how helpless you are!"

With a vertical slash of hers and the goddess’s swords, she sent a hundred-meter-long flaming blade towards Tori and her beasts.

"...Shit!"

Tony stared at the attack heading towards his sister, and was powerless to do anything:

’You can do it sis... Show them all.’ He said inwardly.
