Reincarnated With An SSS-Rank Talent In An Apocalyptic World -
Chapter 52: Pink Menace
Chapter 52: Pink Menace
Pamela’s POV
The orc pulled his finger away from my grip before grabbing my hand in a bid to prevent me from escaping.
Buzz!
Lightning crackled around the orc’s war ax and he swung at me ruthlessly, not even caring that he was about to crush a little girl.
He sounds human but he’s still as ruthless as an orc, I chuckled within as my eyes revealed a pink flare.
"Uncle Orc, Simon says freeze." I giggled.
Swoosh!
A powerful shockwave erupted as the orc froze mid-strike, his war ax just inches away from my face.
"Gah!" He groaned as veins bulged around his forehead.
His muscles were bulging as well, his veins pulsating with green light. Uncle Orc was putting in all his effort to strike at me, but he couldn’t move.
[Simon Says] was the fourth game my [Child’s Play] talent gave me access to. This game was simple: I give an order, and you must carry it out without fail. Should the player try to resist Simon’s orders...
Pfft!
Uncle Orc’s eyes widened in shock as his body was ripped apart by shallow cuts from an invisible blade, causing blood to squirt everywhere.
He let go of me and staggered back, gazing at his body with a look of shock and disbelief.
All a person had to do was stick to the order for five seconds before they are released from Simon’s will, and it becomes their turn to give an order.
But many fail to understand this is a game in which two people can play, so they never attempt to use the [Simon Says] skill to their advantage. I can’t blame them—I’ve never been the type to share the rules of the game.
Little do they know there is a ten-second interval before the turn switches.
"What... what is this?" Uncle Orc muttered while checking out his wounds.
He was more stunned than hurt by the backlash for resisting Simon. This didn’t surprise me, but it was still slightly unsettling.
I looked at my hand, which he had held, and on it was a brown orc-face tag on the back of my palm.
He countered the tag game without noticing. I calmly placed both hands behind me like I was a peerless master in those Chinese movies I used to watch when I was younger.
[Tag Trap] was the third game my [Child’s Play] talent gave me access to. It requires physical contact, but once the target is tagged, they take increased damage.
Back at Nightfall Dominion, Viktor could only hurt the Vampire Lord because he had my tag on him. What people don’t know is the tag can be returned to me if physical contact is made. By pulling away from my grip and grabbing my hand, Uncle Orc returned the tag to me.
If he had the tag on before going against Simon’s orders, the backlash would have been twice as deadly.
I shifted my gaze to Viktor, who had just gotten on his feet, but his lower lip was stained with blood. This fool really thought he could attack an orc champion without using his [Talent].
This fool has tagged alongside me for a good number of rift raids, not knowing all those foes he easily beat down were suffering from the effects of my games.
Left alone, he would have been dead a long time ago.
"Iron Marshal, my foot." I rolled my eyes and returned my attention to Uncle Orc, whose intrigued gaze was fixated on me.
"You are truly something," he said. "But in the face of absolute power, all forms of techniques are useless."
With that said, he raised his war ax and a thunderbolt crashed down from the heavens, splitting into several tiny bolts of thunder that formed a canopy around him, circling him rapidly.
To this statement, I couldn’t help but laugh out loud while nodding.
"Of course I completely agree with you." I giggled, and the next moment my face turned stone cold. "However, this power of yours is too weak to bend the rules of my games."
Uncle Orc frowned as two more bolts of thunder struck from the heavens, ramming into his raised ax. I guess my words pissed him off.
"I’m hiding." I giggled as my body instantly faded away from existence, leaving Uncle Orc blinking in confusion.
This was the [Hide and Seek Fade], the second game at my disposal. The rules were simple: when I say "Found you" to a target within a certain range, they become temporarily outlined with glowing borders, even through walls. If I say "I’m hiding," I become invisible for five seconds.
This rule applies to the player as well, but of course—they never get to know, even in death!
Like a cat, I tiptoed around the enemy, making no sound while watching him glance around in confusion. Because of the nature of his power, I kept my distance in case of an AoE attack.
To be honest, I never planned on fighting the orc champion or defeating him. My intent had always been to drag Viktor here and get him killed. Then go after Colonel Adin and Lt. Katrina—before meeting up with Natasha and Adam. I couldn’t risk them exposing today’s conflict to the government, but this orc did all the work for me.
By the way, fighting their monster was incredibly stupid. Some of his orc wranglers had broken past the wall. It was only a matter of time before their foot soldiers shattered it and poured in.
In no time, we will be surrounded by enemies and slaughtered like everyone else left behind. Colonel Adin knew this from the start and only needed us to buy enough time to escape.
That will be Viktor’s role now.
’I’ll leave this to you, Iron Marshal,’ I mocked with a sinister smile.
Without hesitation, I walked away from the battlefield, leaving the orc champion and the self-righteous Iron Marshal alone. Since he talked so much about serving the government and saving citizens as compensation for the good life we enjoyed under the government, I expect him to keep those words.
"PAMELAAAAA!"
"PAMELAAAAA!"
As expected, not long after, I could hear his desperate cries.
Good riddance to an enemy of all Limitless!
