Reincarnated As A Lion In Another World
Chapter 241 241: Golden Fireball, Sleeping Killer

What did it feel like to be lost in one's own mind? To be awake yet asleep at the same time.

One could only imagine what it was like to constantly be trying to wake up forcefully, only to remain trapped in a silent coma.

Katari was not scared of the situation she found herself in, she wasn't fully aware of the state she was in. She couldn't tell the difference between a second and a day, they were both the same to her.

But even though she was mostly unconscious, her will remained. It was her will that held her mind up and allowed it to retain enough conciseness and desire to be awake.

Her constant push to be awake had also been accompanied by a hazy introspection, leading her to 'dream' constantly about the nature of her powers and how to make them better.

The desire to be better, enough to kill anyone who wanted to harm him.

"... Unfortunately, Isaiah still lives,"

Her faint will flickered like a candle flame, reacting immediately to that sentence. She could recognize the owner of that telepathic voice, and she could also recognize the name 'Isaiah'.

The memories flashed, coming and going before she could hold on to it.

At that time, she had sensed Isaiah's trickery, but Isaiah had also prepared for her. She ended up not being able to defend the attack.

Her throat was slit, it was so severe that her mind reclined into a state of coma just to manage the shock.

*CRACK!*

The space outside her body reacted to her distress. Fissures opened up around her as unstable portals and thin spatial blades spun quickly around her.

She wasn't aware of her surroundings, neither was she fully aware of what she was doing. Her reaction was less deliberate and more instinctive.

"Katari…" A deep and calm voice penetrated her mind.

That voice, it was the same voice she had heard before.

Yes, she recognized that voice.

Some time ago, she had felt a pulse, it had felt familiar and it reminded her of someone.

The memories kept on flashing, rising, and falling in her turbulent sea of consciousness.

"If you can hear me, I want you to be calm," The voice came again. She was starting to regain the image of the face.

Blonde hair, golden eyes. The face was still fuzzy but she could still tell that this person was important to her.

In the chaotic void she had for a mind, this person was the only solemn pillar keeping her sane and upright.

The fact that she could finally draw up an image, even though fuzzy, meant that she was regaining consciousness.

Katari subconsciously did as the voice asked, she calmed down. For a moment, she forgot about Isaiah and focused entirely on that voice.

The spatial storm she was unknowingly brewing settled down and faded away from existence.

"There is no deadline for revenge my dear, we will soon have our cups filled with his blood.

For now, grow your strength, you know how I feel about weakness,"

The owner of the voice seemed to be jesting yet also assumed a time of seriousness.

"Don't worry, I'll help you,"

After that, Katari's consciousness was jolted as a golden substance entered her body and formed a pool near her Space Power pool.

Then…

Kael, who stood over Katari's body with his hand placed on her cheek, noticed something.

Katari's eyebrows twitched. One of her index fingers curled, vibrating to a strange tune.

Katari's body floated above the many pieces of slashed vines, hovering about two or three centimeters above the ground.

The Conquering Essence began flowing into Katari's body as the contract between her and Kael was altered. A contract that she had forgotten even existed.

"No need to wake up now," Kael quickly said. He could feel Katari's mental activity starting to pick up as she observed the Conquering Essence within her body.

A link was created between her Conquering Essence Pool and her space power pool.

She immediately linked them together, causing the enhancement to begin. And after the enhancement, Katari's power, which was already growing steadily, began to grow again.

Kael stood up, "Take your time, join us when you're ready," He said.

"Is she…" Priya asked with a frown. She and Nalii had stood close to N'bayé to prevent the spatial blades from touching them.

"Yes, she's evolving," N'bayé answered for her.

True to her words, fur had begun to grow out of Katari's skin and her resting hand had claws growing out of the fingers.

Katari was returning back to her true lioness form, something that would happen subconsciously when they wanted to evolve but were in their humanoid forms.

N'bayé had experienced the same thing not long ago and had taken note of it.

Kael stopped away from Katari's slowly transforming body.

"Let's leave her for now," He said as he turned around and walked toward the entrance. Ever since he had tasted what it was like to live in a spacious abode like the Iron Blood Pyramid, places like this cave seemed very small to him.

"Are we going to that place now?" N'bayé suddenly asked as she went after Kael.

"What place?" Nalii asked.

"The place he came from," N'bayé responded.

"Is that place the reason Isaiah is still alive?" Priya asked.

"Kael, what are you wearing?" Nba

Nalii and Priya discussed, asking N'bayé questions, while N'bayé answered those questions half-heartedly observing all of Kael's moves.

"Where are the rest of your pride sisters?" Kael asked as he stood outside the cave entrance, his sandaled feet a few inches away from the slope that led down the mountain.

His golden eyes scanned the region in front of the mountain, his gaze taking in all the big and small details of his kingdom.

The sky could not be seen because of the gigantic magic shuttle parked above the mountain.

"Eidel and Ruda are patrolling and should be on their way here after seeing this magic shuttle.

As for Zabita and Olivia, they've gone to supervise the snake's operation. Katari would have been the better candidate but since she's currently not available, Olivia and Zabita have gone out to supervise them." N'bayé said.

"Actually, Olivia was specifically needed because one of the elephants also had the power of fortune," Priya added.

Down below, Kael saw some wolves fighting with each other. Four wolves who were among those that had just been recruited were ganging up on two wolves who had been part of the kingdom for the longest time. These two wolves seemed to be sisters as they looked alike and shared the same grey and black fur.

"I remember wanting the elephants to be taken care of before I returned," Kael said with a casual gaze at the group of wolves. He merely observed, waiting for the outcome.

"Well, you did not give us enough time to be fair. Are you disappointed?" N'bayé asked. Nalii and Priya stared at Kael's back withholding breaths they didn't know they were holding.

Kael shook his head, "No, this is just the fifth day since I left, you have done much within a week. That's good enough, you all did well"

The four newly recruited wolves charged at the two wolf sisters and surrounded them. The four new recruits constantly bit at the hind sides and limbs of the wolf sisters, putting them in a state of discomfort.

"Thank you," N'bayé said, although her attention was still on the runes of the magic shuttle and Kael's description of a library. She had never been so restless in her life before.

All six of the wolves were tier 2, making them quite powerful in the whole forest. But for Kael's kingdom now, tier 2 wolves were more common than before.

The two sister wolves were slowly cornered until they had their back to a tree with nowhere to escape.

They barked and howled, signaling to their packs wherever they were to come to their aid. Unfortunately, no wolf responded with howls to signify that they had heard it.

For some reason, the pack members were not within earshot of these wolf sisters.

The four new recruits had attacked at a time when they knew the sisters would be separated from their pack.

If nothing was done, these wolf sisters would be ruined, they could be beaten, killed, or worse…

"It would seem our haste has left some expected consequences," Kael muttered.

"Yes," Priya said as she too was eyeing the conflict between the wolves.

"What do you propose?" Nalii asked.

The four wolves pounced on the two sisters, biting and clawing at them. The new recruits used their numerical advantage to easily overpower the two sisters.

It was at this time that Kael raised his right hand and pointed it at the fighting wolves.

"I propose a new policy, no more specialized caste, that system is outdated,"

A golden fireball the size of his head burst into existence in front of his outstretched hand, Conquering Essence Fire.
