Reincarnated As A Lion In Another World
Chapter 240 240: N'bayé's Curiosity

"Kael, what is this?" N'bayé asked.

She couldn't help but keep her eyes trained on the underbody of the magic shuttle. Her eyes glimmered with the unmistakable lights of curiosity and Kael was very perceptive to this.

"It's a magic shuttle," Kael said, he preferred not to talk too much about it. What he knew about the workings of the magic shuttle was minimal and he found it hard to even explain that minimal that he knew.

"Magic Shuttle…" N'bayé played with the words in her mind, "How does it work? Those runes look like levitation runes but they are more complex and seem linked to those rectangular things.

How can such a big thing be held together and not collapse into pieces? What material is used to hold everything together? Is it magic?

But where did you find it? How does it work? What energy does it run on?..."

N'bayé's questions caused Kael to smile wryly, N'bayé had truly been captured by his vessel.

She looked like she wanted to dismantle the whole thing just so that she could understand how it works and build it back again.

"You'll have time to study another like it later, this one is off-limits," Kael said while releasing a low chuckle.

"There's another one?" N'bayé looked down and stared at Kael with disbelief.

"Indeed, there's a lot of things I want you to look into when you're less busy, a whole library awaits you," Kael said.

"What's a library?" N'bayé asked while tilting her head to the side.

Kael blinked, remembering N'bayé and Chloe were from different backgrounds and had different levels of education despite having vast differences in intellectual capacity.

Naturally, N'bayé had never heard of a library, nor did she know its purpose.

Kael turned back, leaning his back on the bed of rushing wind that surrounded him as he relaxed and addressed N'bayé face to face while maintaining his flight.

"Well, a library is a place used to store knowledge, a place to keep information for later use," Kael stated, that was the best way he could describe the library of the lions.

"A place to store knowledge, how?" N'bayé asked, becoming more interested in the idea of a library than the magic shuttle.

"It's things called info orbs that contain this knowledge, I can't explain it well, you have to see it for yourself," Kael said.

They landed on the spiral pathway that led up the mountain. Where they had landed was not too far from the flattened mountain peak.

Following this pathway were the personal caves of all the lionesses.

N'bayé landed softly behind Kael, following him closely as she continued her questioning, "Are there a lot of those info orbs?"

"More than I could count," Kael said nonchalantly and was surprised to hear N'bayé squirm like a little girl.

He turned to see N'bayé looking at him with desire. If not for something, Kael would have assumed that the concept of a library turned N'bayé on.

'What a nerd,' Kael smiled while keeping that thought to himself. Imagine having to explain what a nerd was.

Kael had intellectual capabilities similar to N'bayé and could understand how she felt concerning acquiring knowledge.

"Kael, let's go there, is that where you are coming from? Is that where you went? Let's go," N'bayé said hurriedly. She even began to pull on Kael's pinky finger, intending for him to show her the way.

"Relax," Kael said frowning, "The place is closer than you think.

I just have to make sure everything is in order before we begin another phase,"

Hearing this, N'bayé calmed down and returned to her usual nonchalant expressionless demeanor. She hid her excitement behind her mask of indifference before speaking again.

"Yes, Your Majesty," She said, "I assume you want to check on Katari?" She asked.

Kael almost thought he sensed a tone of jealousy in N'bayé's voice but ignored it. N'bayé was N'bayé, since when did she feel jealousy?

"Actually, I want to check on all of you, including Katari," Kael said as he walked toward the caves.

N'bayé blinked, not knowing how to add to the conversation again.

As they walked, they saw two humanoid figures standing next to each other in front of a cave entrance. One had green and brown hair with two antlers on top of her head and a green lion tail behind her.

The other had simple silver-grey hair that was kept in a bun, complimented by her dull grey eyes that would give one the impression that she was blind.

The cave entrance they were standing in front of had little bones creeping around the entrance. The two humanoid females were Nalii and Priya.

One mother and one Aunt.

Nalii's previously worried face had brightened after seeing Kael and she walked toward him with warmth in her heart.

Priya on the other hand maintained her worried visage. She had sensed the distress and fluctuating spirit waves from so far away and knew what had happened.

In the end, Kael had been lenient, she was too far away to tell exactly what transpired or the conversation Vixy and Kael had, but she was aware that Vixy was alive.

Priya didn't know how to feel about this. On one hand, she really wanted there to be peace and unity among all their subordinates, even if it meant forgiving terrible transgressions.

On the other hand, she cared a lot about how Kael felt and what he would think. His feelings were more important to her than any peace she wanted to foster.

So if Kael was angry, she naturally would fight to quell his anger and support him while still through suggestions for actions that are less violent.

However, Priya was currently overthinking things and had assumed Kael might still be angry with Vixy and texted his anger toward her.

She stood there, in front of the cave entrance, studying Kael's expression and the few surface thoughts he did not bother to hide.

Kael was still angry, she could feel it, but the anger was heavily suppressed now that he was in the presence of his lionesses.

"Priya!" Kael called to her as Nalii checked his face and body for any injuries.

Priya's face lit up with glee, Kael had called her with a neutral tone, he wasn't angry it seemed.

"Welcome Your Majesty," Priya bowed.

"When did you become so formal?" Kael said, walking over to Priya and giving her a small pat on her head. Since he was a head taller than her, this was very easy for him to do.

"How was your journey?" She asked, "Did you find what you were looking for?"

At her words, Kael sighed.

He walked into Nalii's cave, stepping on the multiple vines to get into the abode. The three humanoid lionesses went in after him.

"Yeah, I found what I was looking for…in a sense. I found power…" Kael said as he neared the place Katari was resting.

Katari lay on the vine bed, as still as a piece of wood. She was unmoving and her face was expressionless as it had always been.

Her eyelids didn't flutter open when Kael came close to her, this would have not been the case in the past.

Her neck still had that scar, an injury she had gotten after Isaiah slashed her neck open. She was lucky to still be alive.

The only thing odd about the devilish sleeping beauty was the faint but still detectable spatial distortions around her body.

These distortions were very small and would not be harmful to any creature that was the size of a wolf.

But the presence of these distortions meant that there was some activity going on in Katari's mind.

She was subconsciously trying to wake up, forcefully.

Kael studied all these things in silence, he balled his hands into fists. N'bayé, Nalii, and Priya were silent as well.

"... Unfortunately, Isaiah still lives," Kael said, stunning Nalii and Priya. N'bayé remained calm, somewhat guessing this since she felt that pulse.

She had assumed something had derailed Kael from his original intention to kill Isaiah.

However, the three lionesses were not the only ones to react to what Kael said. Kael had not closed his telepathic channel and his sentence reached Katari's seemingly unresponsive mind.

She heard him and reacted.

The spatial distortions around Katari suddenly increased in its intensity. The vine bed under her was immediately shredded to multiple pieces by terrifyingly sharp spatial storms that came out of nowhere.

Not just the vines on the ground, but the whole cave was starting to be engulfed in the enlarging spatial storm. Multiple deep gashes appeared on the walls as more and more vines were being shredded.

Nalii acted fast, she dashed toward the few red-capped mushrooms, grabbed them, and swiftly returned to Kael's side in three seconds.

Kael took a step forward, the spatial storms didn't harm him at all. It wrapped around him like a blanket, like the embrace of a lover.

With how the spatial storm was forming, Katari remained in her coma-like state, still unable to wake herself up.

Kael bent down beside her body and spoke to her telepathically, "Katari…"
