Chapter 247: Die In My Hands!

"Olivia! You are just like your mother" the witch hissed with hatred in her voice. "Taking sides with humans when they had nothing but burnt us. Do you have no feelings for what you are? Just because you have lived with me. It did not make you one of them. In the end, you are like us!" her voice went low and soft in the end as she walked closer to Olivia and placed her hand on her shoulder.

"You still have time, if you want to stop all this, you can come with us. We only want you."

The other witch nodded hurriedly too.

"Yes, as long as you return with us, we will not harm any of them. You want that right?" The voice was soft and enticing. Olivia could feel the itching in her feet as if she wanted to run away with them.

"Ollivia!" but a distinct voice full of pleading stopped her. She turned to look at struggling Damon whose face was full of horror. "They are doing something to you. You have to.." before he could speak further, he fell on the ground.

The witches looked at him with hatred and contempt.

"These humans and their emotions. They think they could chain us. Do not fall for them, Olivia. They are not worth it. Your mother had made the same mistake and look where it had taken her!" the witch softened her voice again.

"You do not know it, but your father had killed your mother." her eyes widened with shock and Olivia wanted to refuse but something in her told her that witches were not lying to her.

"I have come to take you many times. But you did not listen, Olivia. But it is still not too late. Come with me, we will take you to your family."

The fourth witch leaned forward to hold her. her breath misting in the chill air. "You are not one of them. You are ours, Olivia. You belong to the coven."

"I do not know my mother’s fate but I know that she had chosen to save the innocents. And so have I. I will protect them."

"Innocents?" The first witch laughed as looked at the villagers that could not move or attack. Their faces were covered with fear and cold sweat. "These cowards who would turn on their own? You would stand for them against us?"

"A cornered animal attacks everyone. But when a person holds the power and still decides to attack one of his own, this is real betrayal." her voice grew cold as she looked at them.

"You dare!" the witch hissed with venom in her voice. "I have given you a chance Olivia, do not blame us later for our ruthlessness."

The first witch raised both hands, summoning a black storm of thorns that shot toward Olivia like a volley of arrows. Olivia moved fast, twisting sideways as she raised her hand. A barrier of pure blue light surged around her, the thorns shattering on impact and disintegrating in midair.

But the second witch was already chanting. Vines of fire slithered from her sleeves, writhing like serpents, aiming for Olivia’s throat. Olivia flicked her fingers and water spiraled from the air itself, clashing against the fire and creating a cloud of steam. Hidden within it, the third witch whispered a curse, and a blast of raw force hurled Olivia backward.

She rolled with it, crashing against a tree, bark cracking under the impact. Blood ran down her temple, but she rose. Her eyes glowed faintly crimson and silver now like twin moons.

"You’ve grown stronger after stealing Oriana’s power now." hissed the fourth witch. "But you are still alone."

Olivia smirked. "Alone? But I can see the whole village standing with me."

The third witch screamed and launched a bolt of purple lightning. Olivia raised her palm and caught it as if it was a child’s toy.

The lightning fizzled in her hand like a trapped snake. She crushed it and the energy discharging and absorbed in her body as if it always belonged there. She hurled her own magic forward, icy shards that impaled the ground around the witches, piercing them.

"She is stealing our powers and absorbing them." the witches looked shocked, "if this continued, we could not defeat her."

They all looked at the first witch with hope but even she was confused. She had only become head priestess after the death of the previous one in the ritual. Though she had earned the position, she did not get the time to prepare herself for that. Under the strength of Olivia, she felt pale and helpless.

"It would be better that we return for now. We will come back when we are prepared." The witches were hesitant but they knew they did not have any choice.

Two of them tried to teleport, but the moment they chanted, Olivia snapped her fingers and silence swallowed their voices. A spell of silence, sealing off their escape. Their eyes widened and they looked horrified.

Though they easily perform magic on the humans, or attack each other with their magic. They could not control the other witch with their powers like forcing them to speak something or making them silent. They have neve seen it before or heard about it even in the case of a bloodwitch.

The second witch lunged forward with twin blades formed from shadow. Olivia met her mid-air, summoning a sword of pure light. Their weapons clashed, sparks of darkness and light dancing like fireworks. Olivia twisted, disarmed the witch, and drove her glowing blade straight through her chest. The witch let out a shriek before vanishing into smoke.

The other three witches looked horrified by the sense. For a long time no one spoke as if they were sure a single sound would break the enchantment. Olivia had killed a witch! She had...

"You! You traitor! What have you done?" they all shrieked at once and hissed with hatred.

"It is just the start, if you keep attacking innocents, one by one all of you will die in my hands."
