Chapter 158: His First Gift!
Chapter 158: His First Gift!
Diana had an ugly look on her face as she sat beside Damon in the carriage on one side.
On the other side, Olivia and Shaya were chatting as if they were long lost friends. They were chatting so animatedly again. A beggar suiting a barbarian. Diana scowled looking away.
She noticed Damon was staring at them. Though his face was still stoic, his eyes looked much softer. Her heart burnt just looking at his expression.
"Damon.." she had not let go of his hand even after sitting in the carriage. She leaned on his chest and breathed his name. "When are you planning to announce our marriage?" from the corner of her eyes, she stared at Olivia.
"Soon! But his majesty had placed some conditions. I need to fulfill them first." Olivia who had not reacted earlier paused for a fraction before resuming as if nothing had happened.
"My father can be stubborn sometimes." she rubbed harder. His hand was not between the gap of her breasts and she had worn a low cut dress where a large part of her cleavage could entice any male.
"All you need to do is please me, I will handle my father." she smiled with a clear indication as she rubbed his hands again.
Olivia waited for Damon to burst. She knew he had thrown every woman out of his room whenever they tried to seduce him. The man did not like touching. But he only smiled and let her continue.
"Of course, your highness. I am at your command." The words stunned Olivia. Damon had been proud. He had never bowed even when Oriana was cold and cruel.
But now..
"Olivia, do you know in our culture, women had the right to choose his man. She fights every other woman contender to win the heart of the man she desires." Olivia tore her gaze away from Damon. It had nothing to do with him whether he was with a woman or not. For the sake of Christ, even if they kiss each other she did not care.
"That is empowering, I must say!" Olivia nodded half heartedly. Her eyes were distracted. Shaya smirked, nodding.
"It is! I love catfights." her expressions changed again.
"... you love strange things, madam!" Oliva commented amusedly, "but our country is full of strange things too. Do you think the trade would be possible?" looking at her waiting eyes, the woman shrugged.
"I do not like the royal attitude to be honest." Although they were speaking in thick accents, Olivia still turned to look at the princess. But the princess was too busy rubbing her whole body on Damon. She regretted looking at them and shifted her gaze at once. "But if the duke would take the authority over the deal, I will try to convince our king."
Damon?! Did she think he was a better man! This cruel, cold, narcissist was better! Hmph! He was just lucky that she was guiding him in this life.
"We will try to accommodate your wishes of course." If Damon would get power over it because of her, she had the bargain. Perhaps, she really did not need to marry Edward then.
In the past, she had craved for his touch but now, she did not like it when he touched her. She ignored that itchy feeling and sighed.
"We are here!" Diana narrowed her eyes at them and Olivia’s heart shook when the carriage stopped.
"Have you ever been to the night market, princess?" Damon asked as he extended his hand for her to hold. Diana smiled boldly
"Night! I like the word. And if it is with you, I can spend it anywhere. Though I do not like the commoners market." Olivia’s face burnt and she lowered her head instantly.
"Then I will bring you to many places at midnight." he smirked back. Olivia felt nauseated just hearing them.
She opened the door on the other side, and jumped. Though she staggered a bit, she composed herself as if nothing happened and extended her hand for Shaya.
But the woman had already jumped. She needs no help.
"Shall we.." she asked with a teasing smile. Olivia blushed as if she had been caught stealing.
They walked away and Damon and Diana with the other envoys followed closely.
"The shops here sell a variety of products, you can see our culture and the goods we can offer madam." Olivia took the girl into a shop. Damon’s eyes narrowed when she walked hastily. A smirk blooming on his lips.
They had entered a jewelry shop.
"Your highness, shall I buy something for you?" Diana looked at the cheap goods of the shop. They only have pearls, shells and stones with nothing rare.
"Damon, I am a princess. You should give me something I can show to the world and wear in public. This would be too humiliating?" though she kept her voice low, her disgust for this shop could barely be hidden.
Damon watched Olivia smiling while trying a necklace made of seashells. His eyes flickered and he nodded.
"I will still give it a try." Before Diana could refuse again, he had already entered the shop. Stamping her feet on the ground, she followed him.
Damon walked closer and chose a beautiful pearl and gold hair accessory.
"It will look beautiful." If the quality is ignored, Diana had to admit that it was designed beautifully with an intricate design. She nodded at his choice.
"But it will not suit you." he did not give it to her and she chuckled.
"At least you understood. This shop is so disgusting. Olivia, are you sure you want to show such kinds of shops to the envoys for the deal?" she scolded Olivia in a loud voice earning the attention of a few other customers and shop owner. The man frowned for being called disgusting.
"Hey! If you do not want to buy anything, you can leave." he was being kind to the group because he thought they would buy a lot.
"We are buying all these things."
