Chapter 134: Worry About Her Death

Chapter 134: Worry About Her Death

Olivia stared at the papers in her hands as she sat inside the carriage. She was the owner of the property with the support of her would-be husband, though the name was empty for now, Olivia knew that Edward had only accepted it because he knew he would fill that empty space.

Olivia sighed and leaned on the window. Her eyes staring outside. A group of young girls laughing over something as they were walking together. Her eyes longed looking at them and she turned her head when the carriage passed away. She wished for that life. Where she could meet the girls her age. Where she did not need to worry about her death all the time.

Where she... she shook her head. She was wasting her time thinking about useless things. She knocked on the adjoining window and the carriage stopped.

"Thank you, I will be back soon." Since it was the royal family carriage, Olivia was not worried about her security. She went to the dessert shop.

She could hear the chatter of customers again. Their smiling and contented faces as they brought a few things from the shop and left holding the hands of their loved ones.

Olivia pinch her arms. She was being too emotional for some reason. She pushed those emotions away and smiled at the server.

"I would have a piece of all the desserts here, sir." the man paused in serving. His eyes widened as he looked at her again.

"Madam, we have seventy five types of desserts. Are you sure you want to buy one of each type?"That would be a huge sale. Just the thought of it made him shudder with joy and he looked at Olivia as if she was looking at a goddess.

Olivia smiled as her gaze travelled on the desserts.

"Yes, and three servings of your apple pies. Thank you." the man nodded hurriedly and ran inside leaving the counter empty.

Olivia could feel every gaze on her now. But she did not react and checked the snacks though the mirror showcases. The man soon returned with five packed boxes. He looked at Olivia embarrassed.

"Ah! The thing is... madam.." he scratched his neck looking at her fine dress and jewels. She was a noble. What if.. Olivia smiled and took out a bunch of silver coins.

"Would they be enough? You can take your time and calculate the amount. I will pay the rest. But if it is enough, you can keep the rest." The man looked relieved. He grinned holding a lot of silver coins in his hands and nodded a few times before running inside again.

"Hey! Are you not serving others anymore?" an old woman complained while holding the hands of her granddaughter. She glared at Olivia as if it was her mistake.

Olivia ignored the old woman. She stared at the young girl instead. The young girl was touching the showcase showing cupcakes with a drool.

Olivia smiled at the girl and opened the five boxes she had received. She took out a cupcake and passed it to the little girl.

"Do you want it?" the little girl’s eyes shone like rare jewels. She nodded and took the cupcake. But as if reminded of something, she looked at her grandmother while holding the cupcake tightly.

Her grandmother frowned and had a dark face that made the young girl pout. But then, the woman sighed and nodded. She did not want to make the child cry. The girl smiled gratefully.

"Thank you, aunt." she then gobbled up the cupcake hurriedly while staring at her grandmother all this time. Looking at her eating so far, Olivia bit her lips to hide her laughter.

The boy returned in the meantime. He was hardly managing to hold all the boxes in his hands.

"Your order is packed, my lady. The silver you have given had extra money for two more cakes. I have packed them too. Thank you for the visit. Please come again." he smiled sweetly at her, hardly able to hide his joy of selling so much.

Olivia smiled back. The bags were too much. She should have brought someone for help. The grandmother frowned when Olivia arranged the bags one over the other and held them.

"Tch! How would you walk now? You can not even see the road ahead." the mocked Olivia. Olivia sighed and decided to ignore her. But it was really hard to walk that way.

What if she bumped into someone and everything fell down. The frowning grandmother came forward and took three boxes.

Olivia blinked looking at the old man. She shifted her weight and looked away with a brooding gaze.

"Do not think too much. I am only helping in exchange for the cupcake you have given to my granddaughter. I do not want to take a stranger’s favor." Olivia only nodded with a smile. She shook her head slightly as she walked toward the carriage.

The woman was surprised when she saw the royal insignia on the carriage.

"Are you from the royal family?" she asked hesitantly with a hint of fear in her voice. The granddaughter was left behind in the shop. So Olivia was worried about the child being alone.

The footmen saw Olivia coming with so many bags and hurriedly walked toward her to take the bags from her. The woman once again noticed the royal uniform and paused.

Olivia noticed her strange behavior. She knew the woman was afraid because of her rudeness earlier. Yet, she felt her behavior was strange, instead of apologizing, she was staring at the carriage as if she wanted to burn it.

"I am not from the royal family." She took the bag from the old woman’s hands. "I am the daughter of a baron. His royal highness only lent me the carriage because he was worried about my safety." the woman looked at Olivia hesitantly before nodding and leaving.

For some reason, Olivia stared at the old woman for a long time.

"My lady, is there anything else you want to buy?" Olivia looked at the shop again. She did not see the old woman leaving. She shook her head and returned to the carriage.

"What was I thinking!? Why should I follow them?"
