Chapter 60 Doting Husband
Chapter 60: Chapter 60 Doting Husband
Jasmine’s raised her head and her eyes went directly to the door to see the man standing there, glued to the floor.
Their eyes locked in that instant. Kingsley couldn’t tear his gaze off her, afraid if he blinked, he might see something else...
His shoulder slumped as he just stared at the lady that has caused him unrest for the past few weeks.
A broad smile filled Jasmine’s face as she giggled in a cranky voice. "Come here, husband." Her eyes were tired, a clear contrast to her smile.
Mrs Trevor stood up along with Nicole as they exited the room. Nicole gave Jasmine a cheeky smile before she shut the door after her.
Kingsley took a step towards her, his emotions in a spiral as he came nearer. "You..." he started. He clutched his suit that was in his hand tightly.
Jasmine’s lips quivered as she stared at her husband, her handsome husband that has made her heart full of love roses. This man, she loves him. That was true.
Just seeing him made tears swell up in her eyes, especially when he came near and sat close to her, she could see every emotion surfacing on his face. It was too surreal for them.
"Wifey..." Kingsley whispered carefully and softly, afraid if he raised his voice, she might melt away. His eyes searched her face as he brought his right palm to cup her face. "You are fine."
Jasmine nodded as she brought her hand to place on top of his. A single tear left her eyes as she whispered back. "For a moment, I thought I wouldn’t see you ever again when I woke up in the middle of surgery. It hurt like hell...." She complained. "The only thought in my head was you,kingsley.."
Kingsley quickly pulled her into his embrace, his body trembling slightly as he hugged her tightly, his eyes were shut. Feeling her warmth against his body, then he confirmed that all this was real. She really was out of coma.
"I miss you, Wifey..." he kissed the top of her head. "Very much." His voice shook, taking Jasmine by surprise.
When she pulled away, she noticed how red his eyes were, how pale looking and his beards were not shaved like always. He’s grown slimmer, and paler and his hair was overdue for a cut. "And you look like a rascal." She chuckled.
Kingsley flickered her forehead and Jasmine winced. "I couldn’t concentrate on anything else because I was worried sick about you."
Jasmine shook her head. "Ohh, poor husband."
"How are you feeling? Want anything? I wanted to be the first person to feed you when you wake up..." He growled. "Guess your mom beat me to it. So unfair."
Jasmine laughed a little. "Not a bad thing. At least, I’m here now."
"Has Doctor William come to check on you?"
"Yes. He did a while ago before you came."
"When did you wake up? I wonder why Doctor William didn’t call me to share the news." Kingsley was displeased.
"I woke up barely two hours ago and I was the one who told him not to breathe a word to you."
Kingsley creased his brows. "His loyalty lies with you now??"
Jasmine shrugged. "I have my way of making people do stuff for me."
Kingsley inclined his head to the side and scoffed. "I’ll be right back. I need to speak with him regarding your health."
Jasmine quickly grabbed his wrist to prevent him from leaving. "Will you be back?"
Kingsley leaned closer and planted a peck on her lips, his drowsy eyes scanned her face as he cajoled her. "Yes, babe." His husky voice made Jasmine smile as her cheeks reddened.
Seeing her embarrassed expression, Kingsley let out a soft laugh before leaving the room.

"What about the Meningioma?" Kingsley asked, his eyes peering deeply at Doctor William who was behind the table. They sat opposite each other in the doctor’s office.
"Let’s give it time. She just woke up and so far, she’s in a stable condition and healing quite well..." Doctor William explained. "For the Meningioma, let’s give it approximately two months to see if it grows again."
Kingsley’s smile tightened. "I don’t want it to grow again. So be direct, what do you think?? Are there chances of it growing again?"
Doctor William remained silent for a while, he let out a deep breath before trying to reply to his questions. "I can not determine that at this stage. And I also do not want to lie to you just so you can feel better."
Kingsley pushed his chair backward and stood up. "Okay then." With that, Kingsley exited the room, leaving Doctor William who stared at his back as he left.

Jasmine spent a few more days at the hospital before she was fully discharged from the hospital. Her father had insisted that she come back to his mansion but Kingsley stopped that. Saying she was married and no longer his single daughter—she was his wife and he wanted to take care of her.
Jasmine of course, took sides with Kingsley especially after Kingsley proposed that they would spend time together in one of his condos in Chicago. A recovery treat from her wealthy husband—Jasmine chose to go back with Kingsley.
Kingsley packed his car in front of the entrance, behind him, Raymond and Nicole also parked theirs. Nicole insisted that she would come along to help Jasmine settle in.
Kingsley climbed out of the car and circled it to open the door for Jasmine. Jasmine’s hair was packed in a bun, she was wearing a baggy shirt and pants and sneakers.
Nicole and Raymond followed along with Hailey. Hailey abandoned her mother and rode in Raymond’s car even though Nicole hated the idea. Lately, her daughter has been unruly, always clinging to Raymond.
Just like now, Nicole was talking with Jasmine while Kingsley carried the bags. Raymond was carrying the big baby Hailey. She won’t stop playing with Raymond’s hair and the older man just loved how she messed with his hair.
"Oh, welcome back Mrs Elm..." Mrs Jenkins rushed out of the house, her wide grin almost split her face in half.
"Mrs Jenkins, you’re back." Jasmine rushed forward to hug the older lady. They both embraced each other for a while before they pulled away.
"I knew you’d be fine."
Just then, Grandpa Elm cleared his throat to signify his presence. His butler was just standing behind him. Jasmine’s eyes brightened up as she ran into his arms too.
Kingsley groaned from behind in displeasure. "Careful, Jasmine."
Jasmine didn’t listen as she hugged Grandpa Elm, the old man was so emotional as he smoothed her hair to Kingsley’s utter disbelief.
After the emotional talks, and sharing of hugs and wishes, everyone went into the living room, and truly,Mrs Jenkins had made several dishes ready to celebrate Jasmine’s recovery.
All through the meal, Kingsley’s eyes were on Jasmine, he barely touched his food as he kept helping her with food, making sure she didn’t stress to grab any bowl. He helped her peel banana peels, poured her water in her cup, sliced apples into different shapes for her, etc.
Jasmine was spoiled by her suddenly doting husband and from the way he was doing it, he planned to make it a habit.
