Chapter 59: Chapter 59 Chit-Chat With Caesar

Going over to the hospital every morning and leaving by noon became a regular routine for Kingsley. He sorted files in the hospital while Jasmine lay on the bed;still in a coma.

He didn’t forget to always take a flask containing a variety of dishes along. In hopes that if Jasmine wakes up,he will be the first person to feed her something edible.

When he leaves in the afternoon, Nicole takes his place. Nicole was one of the people who made visiting the hospital part of a daily life activity. She would sit next to Jasmine, hold her hand, and pray for a while—sometimes cry. In the evening when Hailey would return from the babysitter’s house, she would have to return for Kingsley and Mrs Trevor to take over.

Because of the coma incident, Nicole had to look for a babysitter for Hailey through a recommendation from Raymond. Kingsley watches over Jasmine from morning till noon and then, Nicole takes over and then, Mrs Trevor comes too along with Kingsley to take care of her in the evening. Mrs Trevor spends the night there while Kingsley returns home. That was how they swapped watchman ship until Nicole had to resume work.

One week went by in a blur. The news of her in a coma was tightly sealed by Kingsley who wouldn’t allow the media to get the information but somehow, it managed to leak out. For the next few days, several security officers were placed in the hospital to shoo reporters.

On this fateful day, It was evening and Kingsley parked his car in the hospital’s garage. His face was a little tight due to stress from work and his grandfather who kept yelling that he wanted to see Jasmine. Grandpa Elm got the news of Jasmine’s comatose state so he confirmed from Kingsley who didn’t hide it from him. Grandpa Elm wanted to visit but Kingsley suggested that he wait until she was out of coma but the old man was reluctant.

Stepping out of his car, Kingsley shut the door after him and then, he spotted the two familiar parked cars. Their doors were pushed open and Kingsley lazily raised his brow at the two men.

He stopped in his tracks in the dim garage, his eyes moving from one person to another.

Mr Trevor and Jack came near Kingsley and all three men stood there, facing each other.

"What an unpleasant surprise, Jack Raven.." Kingsley said jauntily.

Jack snarled. "I heard what happened to Jasmine, has your unlucky charm spread to her??"

His words made Kingsley frown. "At least I wasn’t some scumbag who was only after her wealth while being a man whore." That was suggestive and everyone knew what he was talking about.

"Mr Elm and Mr Raven, I wanted to meet up here for a reason. Do not act immature." Mr Trevor said, his eyes were cold but could not scare Jack talk more of Kingsley who just yawned in boredom.

"I understand but I’ve never met any man as annoying as Mr Elm!"

Kingsley rolled his eyes. "Never been more bored in my life than this moment."

Mr Trevor snarled. "I waited in the garage for you, Mr Elm because I wanted the three of us to have a proper conversation over what has happened in the last few weeks."

"Unpopular and new," Kingsley said dryly.

Mr Trevor frowned. "What do you mean by that?"

Kingsley shrugged nonchalantly. "It’s unpopular to know that you would want us to have a conversation and it is new to note that my father-in-law could come up with something as silly as this."

Mr Trevor’s gave turned grim and Jack butted in. "He has a reason for calling a meeting. Be respectful."

"The last time I remembered, someone was doing all it took to make sure my wife was surrounded by people she once loved all to get rid of me." He spat, not caring who his words hurt.

"I only did that for the sake of my daughter. You are not deserving of her!" Mr Trevor said in his defense.

"Speaking of which, makes me think you’re not deserving of such a lovely daughter too. So far,I’m a good husband but definitely not a man whore or a dick to her. For the past few weeks, you’ve been doing the worst things to get on her nerves which include partnering with her ex..." turning his mocking gaze at Jack, he added. "The man whore she dumped on their wedding day. Tsk tsk. You both can never learn." With that, he brushed past Mr Trevor and Jack Raven.

Mr Trevor shook in anger from where he stood, his teeth sank into his lower lip in hatred. Jack growled impatiently. "What about the meeting?"

Kingsley looked over his shoulder. "Use it to practice how to sink your dick into a woman’s pussy properly." With that, he left. Jack’s face fell.

Kingsley dragged on his tie as he passed through the long and lit corridor. Of course, he noticed how the nurses quirked and blushed hard when he walked past their post at the front desk. He didn’t even throw them a look.

Kingsley pressed on the elevator and got in. Two men entered too and the silence reigned. Visiting the hospital made him more used to sharing elevators with others. At first, he was uncomfortable but after much visits, he started to see it as something customary in a public place. He didn’t complain, instead he always stood close to the wall of the elevator.

Ding!

The elevator stopped and the door pried open, he waited for the two men to go out before he followed. His steps towards Jasmine’s ward were bold and regular. He anticipated seeing the scenes every time. The usual thing of seeing Jasmine laid in her bed, her hair all over the bed in a manner that—

"Oh, sick humans." He cursed at the thought of Jasmine’s father and Jack. The idea of sitting in one environment with those two sent him into an angry mode. He would rather have a nice chit-chat with Caesar.

As he came near,he first spotted Nicole who was coming back into the room. He frowned a little. Lately, Nicole couldn’t visit in the evenings because of work. He didn’t think much of it though.

Nicole didn’t see him as she reentered the room. Coming near, Kingsley held the door knob and was about to pull it when his eyes went to the peel hole on the door and his breathing stopped momentarily when he saw Jasmine sitting on the bed, eating the food her mother was feeding to her. Kingsley’s body went rigid in that instant. She was awake!!!
